I loved this cabin by the river, it is exactly what I was looking for, beautiful clean surroundings with well maintained property and place where we can bbq is peace. Great place to spend some time with your family and also the owner of the property is very helpful and responsive. Overall great experience.

We had an amazing stay at this campsite. The view was absolutely beautiful, and the constant sound of the flowing creek was incredibly soothing and calming. It really made the whole experience special.
All the essentials were provided, including a BBQ, heater, drinkable water, lamps, and plates, even bedding, though we were advised to bring our own. We ended up using our own bedding, but it was great to have everything available.
The hosts were fantastic, very welcoming, helpful, and easy to talk to. They even came by to meet us, which added a really personal touch to our stay.
Overall, it was the perfect combination of nature and a relaxing getaway. A great place to sit back, unwind, and truly enjoy the surroundings.

We had such a good time, it is a perfect place to disconnect and enjoy life. Gillian and her husband were so nice and friendly.
All needed items like blankets, cooking supplies, potable water and more were available.

It was a short but sweet trip! Gillian and Jim are great hosts! The cabin is awesomely complete with lots of fun ready for family to use and enjoy! We are definitely going back this summer! We got a bit lost but it was our fault. We thought we are in Markdale but we were in Durham and so we misinterpreted the direction. Lol. But nevertheless, it was one of the fun part of adventure!

Hi, the solar panel battery pack has to be improved - we had many days of cloudy weather and as a result, alarms kept going off in the cabin, but the gentleman was there in about a half hour to fix in the night.
In the morning it went off again at about 830am and he came to stop the alarm again - I could have figured this all out but was going on 3H sleep from a diverted airplane milk run from BC the day before - 4 flights to get to Toronto 3 on Friday and one early morning 5am from Wpg.

We loved Gillian and Jim’s property. Our stay could not have been better. Their hospitality and kindness went above and beyond. Their attention to the little things made all the difference. They aim to please by exceeding all expectations, more than any other host we have experienced. The three of us were very comfy and had lots of fun after dark by the fire and inside playing games. We got lucky with clear skies and sun. The stars were out and the sun in the morning was glorious. We only had time for one night but it felt like so much more. We will certainly be booking again and highly recommend to anyone looking to connect with Nature and relax.

It was an absolute blast on this project,

It can sleep upto 4 comfortably, has a lot of amenities needed for a perfect stay
They also provide drinking water ! Rare
There is a swing , hammock and a crystal clear creek .

I loved the place. Gillian is so nice and friendly.
The running water keeps you calm and relaxed. Property being in middle of the nature is the best thing.
The swing makes your stay more comfortable if it is raining .

This is one of the best places I’ve stayed at so far! The location can be a little tricky to find, but Jim and Gillian give clear directions. Once you arrive, it’s just a short walk to your cabin surrounded by nature—and that’s really what this place is all about. You’ll have everything you need: water right in front, a cozy campfire, and even some games to make your stay more fun.
The best part is the full privacy, since there’s only one cabin on the property, making the whole place yours. Jim and Gillian are so kind and helpful, which made the experience even better. I already have plans to go back—so don’t think twice, just go for it! ✨❤️

Accommodations were extremely clean, all modern conveniences available were an excellent bonus (mini fridge, cellphone charger, overhead fan, lighting and room heater) and the property was beautiful and tranquil. Had an excellent and relaxing stay. My dog loved his swim times in the creek and I enjoyed waking up to the sound of it in the morning. Also enjoyed some of the wildlife sights and sounds: humming birds, cows, fish, coyote howls at night. Wonderful and helpful hosts.

Gillian and her family were so welcoming and they have a beautiful and peaceful land. We loved every moment of staying at Gillian's cabin. We were able to do many outdoor activities with our nephew and even able to enjoy the rainy evening in the cabin with a plenty of board games ready to use! I hope to visit there again soon!!

The hosts were very welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay! The cabin, facilities, and grounds were really well kept. The cabin sits right on a beautiful creek and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend!

What a beautiful spot!
Stayed with my kids for a few days, they didn’t want to go on day trips, they just wanted to play in the water! I was able to relax on the hammock or the swinging benches while keeping an eye on them.
The hosts are amazing people ❤️ so thoughtful and kind.

Thoroughly enjoyed spending a getaway in the outdoors in Gillian’s cabin and space. Everything was clean and pictures don’t do justice. Such a cute lovely place to experience my camping trip. Hosts were very sweet people and basically thought of everything you need. Thank you I would most definitely come back!

My teenage son and I really enjoyed our staycation at Gillian’s cabin. Very lovely spot, super cute cabin, very nice hosts, and it has everything you could need! Well looked after property… bbq, fire pit, little swimming spot. I would definitely go again just to lay in the hammock and float on the river! :)

Gillian and Jim were wonderful hosts who greeted us and even helped us with our luggage with their atv. Their dog Hunter is a big boy but a very friendly one. The cabin was very peaceful and we enjoyed the night sky and the creek very much. Lovely place for a quiet get away.

I had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It's located in a quiet, well-maintained area. There’s an open gazebo with a table and swings inside, BBQ and plenty of wood provided for a cozy fire. The hosts were very welcoming—they met me upon arrival and gave me a quick tour of the place. I had enough privacy to relax, but also felt safe knowing the hosts were nearby. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway.

So peaceful and quiet. Property is very well maintained, even the trail to get to the bunkie and creek was a short pleasure walk. Every building was brand new: exceeded our expectations ,!! A great place to spend a few days or quick overnight stay. Our hosts were so welcoming and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back.

We loved Gillian and Jim’s riverside cabin. Our favourite part was swimming and relaxing on the tubes tied up to the side of the river. We also enjoyed playing the provided axe game, and using the swing.
The cabin was clean, had lots of supplies, and there was some limited power in the cabin that powered a mini fridge and lighting, which was an awesome perk. The outhouse was clean as well, and you can still smell the fresh pine from the construction of it.
The walk from the parking to the cabin was a few minutes through a nice trail, and the hosts gladly brought our gear to and from our car during check-in and check-out with their atv buggy. The hosts also gave us privacy, but were available if we had questions.
We also spent some shopping time at a few vintage/thrift stores in Durham, and enjoyed a dinner at Marilynne restaurant in Markdale. These were great additions to our trip.
We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to relax riverside. Thank you Gillian and Jim for sharing this special place with us. We hope to be back!
