This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Here is what the land offers: -Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023 -Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table -Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company. It was 1984 when John found his ‘diamond in the rough’, 20 acres with an orchard on the outskirts of Brantford. O.K., so the house was nothing to write home about but perfect for building a construction yard…no neighbors except for the family across the road that used their property to build log homes. By 1987 the old house was gone, a new one was being built and a shop for working on heavy equipment had been located about 200 ft. from Dr. the back door. It wasn’t until 1996 that things changed very much. Yes, the property around the house had benefitted from a wide array of trees and shrubs that John saved from the construction/demolition jobs he had done and that still thrive today but no big projects (except for equipment purchases) were ongoing. A chance meeting with the neighbor across the road one day resulted in the following dinner conversation, ‘How was your day’ I chirped. ‘Not bad, so-and-so didn’t come in; the truck broke down and I took it for repair; I bought the property across the road, and oh, yeah I’ll need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ was John’s casual reply. ‘What was that’? I pressed. ‘Yes, I need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ he repeated with a bit more volume. Of course like anyone, I had questions, ‘Do you want peas or corn with dinner’? ‘What time do you want to go to get the truck’? ‘The property across the road’, 10 acres, still has the 4 storey barn with its twin tiled silos which was built in 1914 and the big white house with wrap around porch that once was home to a Doctor and his family. Built so the Doctor could see his patients in the front with the family living in the back was very common in the day. Things remained relatively peaceful until 2000 when after studying alpacas for more than 6 years I bought our first three. Back in 2000 alpacas and llamas were not frequently seen on farms and because they could been seen from the road they received A LOT of attention. People driving by would stop and ask about them, ask if they could take a picture or two and that was when I would hear over and over again ‘You have a beautiful place here, I wish I/we could stay’. Well, if you want to visit and stay in the city it’s doable, we call it a hotel. But visiting a farm and staying well, that isn’t so easy. Each year we would see more and more families coming to ‘The Farm’ as they would call it. Some came to see the alpacas and horses, some came for a stroll and to check out the horse drawn milk and bread delivery wagons, some to have family birthday parties, others to have engagement/wedding/Christmas card pictures…and so many asked if there was any way they could spend a day or two. In 2021 during a conversation with a friend I mentioned we were in the process of gutting the 1100 sq. ft. space downstairs and turning it into an Airbnb! Right away she said, ‘I don’t know why you don’t have a Hipcamp? You’ve got that great area by the new barn that Hipcampers would love’! After a little investigation I found out what a Hipcamp was and the rest is history.

This is a hidden Oasis just outside of the Waterloo and Guelph areas. There’s lots of other exciting things to do and see in the surrounding areas – great restaurants, breweries and wineries, golf courses, rivers, fishing, agri-tourism experiences, events and more. There is really something for everyone around here. We have a beautiful green acreage with a picturesque pond, next to Cox Creek and privacy with open and treed space and the promise of gorgeous sunsets almost every night. There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Harrison Park and Inglis Falls are huge attractions in the area. Each area has its own beauty and the hiking path between the two is quite spectacular. 1 night at The Farm

We had such a great time at The Farm. My friend and I just needed a quick trip out of the city, and this was exactly what we were looking for. The location is really nice. You're close to Brantford and Paris if you need anything, but it still feels far enough out that you actually get some peace and quiet. Best of both worlds. We originally booked the Canadian site but switched over to Sunrise. Nothing against the first spot, we just checked the weather and realized we didn't need the overhead cover since it wasn't going to rain. I'm really glad we moved, though. Sunrise is more set back from the other sites, and the two mounds on either side give it a nice enclosed, private feel. Plus you wake up to the sun coming up right in front of you, which is pretty great. Karen is the real standout here. She knows so much about the animals, she has all the local history, and she's genuinely funny. She really made our stay memorable. Do not skip the farm tour, it's worth doing. The camping itself was great, but Karen is worth the price of admission all on her own. We'd definitely come back!

Scott & Lisa were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They started us off with a quick tour of the property and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. They were also great about checking in by message to make sure everything was going well. The campground and property were very tidy, and they provided most of the essentials we needed for a comfortable stay. You can really tell they take pride in the place and care about their guests. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend staying here!

Nestled right next to the river, the campground is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Marcin and his wife were incredibly friendly, nice, and inviting. They keep both the sites and the facilities spotless and tidy, and they went out of their way to accommodate every request we had. The campsites back directly onto the river and are only a short walk from the beach. They also sell dry, high-quality hardwood, a huge improvement over the moldy, damp wood you often get at provincial parks. Another big plus is that they allow several families to share the same site, making it a much better option for group camping than the provincial parks. Just a couple of practical tips: bring mosquito repellent, as you’re camping by the water, and pack for cooler, damper nights thanks to the river effect. We would definitely book with Marcin again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, convenient, and family-friendly riverside getaway.

Weekend Trip to Everhill Farm

We loved camping at Pasture 1! Josh was a fantastic host—friendly, accommodating, and very responsive. We experienced some significant wind and rain during our stay, and Josh made sure to drive by and check on us to make sure everything was okay. We also really enjoyed getting to spend time by the river and swimming in the swimhole—it was such a great bonus to the camping experience! His thoughtfulness and attentiveness really made a difference. We’d definitely camp here again!

To start Angela and Luke are great Hosts who I have enjoyed meeting. Angela worked with me to change my date because of rain. This was my 3rd trip and come for the Quiet camping over loud Conservation Camping. Up to now everything had been peaceful. Until last night next to the Dam Spot there is a Permanent Trailer that had people arrive at 6 PM as soon as it became dark 9PM the music got turned up. There Dog was Barking The Voices and Music continued until 1 AM there was no effort to lower there voices and in fact it got louder. Keep in mind if you rent the dam spot expect loud noise from these people. It really is a peaceful place, Unfortunately some people thing they can do what ever they want.

This is a great spot to go and get away! Lisa and Scott were amazing hosts from beginning to end! They were there to greet us upon arrival and give us a tour of the property. Communication was a breeze with Lisa during our stay! They checked in to ensure we had everything we needed while being respectful of our time and privacy. They were very accommodating and the property was beautiful. The bunkies are closer together than we thought but in bunkie #1 we still felt we had a decent amount of privacy from the neighbouring bunkie and a nice view of the pond. The chickens were an added bonus! The kids just loved feeding them! :) This was my first time ever booking something like this, so I was quite nervous. The property is well kept , the bunkies are super clean with bedding and pillows provided and the outdoor bathroom was well maintained. I was not disappointed and will definitely book here again!

Marcin was an extraordinary host! He goes above and beyond to make us have comfortable and enjoy our stay. He even toured us in his property. This camp is so beutiful. If you ever have an important event or milestone this place will be a perfect venue. The barn and the river are my top favorite sight! The campgrounds are so clean and flat. Even our little dog had the time of his life exploring the place. Our kids also enjoyed swimming in the river and the playground. They even have real bathrooms and showers. Thank you Marcin for hosting us. We will surely be back with a much bigger group of friends!
