The terrain is mostly flat but interesting. Campsites are private with good separation from each other. ALL sites have 2 car parking, a picnic table, fire pit and covered wood for purchase. Campfires are permitted according to our approved burn plan before midnight.
5G/LTE cellphone service is good for Bell, Rogers and Telus networks. We have 3 outhouses on the premises and an outdoor hot shower.
FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩
Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station.
We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer
We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.
Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps.
It is a marsh, not a lake.
Google Earth shows it better.
There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :)
This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.
There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse
Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge.
This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush.
We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter.

There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The lake warms up quickly in the spring and is great to swim in. There is a cabin that sleeps three and a bunkie that sleeps two. A $20 discount will be provided if both are booked by one family. Many camping items are provided, like a Coleman stove, tables, dishes, and a screen shelter. There is also a levelled off tent site with a private fire pit.
You will have access to the dock and a large fire pit area which are part of the owner’s cottage on the property. There will be a port-a-potty on site.
Lake Townsend is close to several conservation areas and 12 minutes to the quaint town of Markdale with several shops, a bakery, and a large grocery store.
The city of Owen Sound is 35 minutes away. Harrison Park and Inglis Falls are huge attractions in the area. Each area has its own beauty and the hiking path between the two is quite spectacular.
Parts of the famous hiking trail, The Bruce Trail, are also easily accessible from Townsend Lake.
But once you get settled in, you may just want to rest and relax at the lake! It has its own beauty and serenity and is home to many bird species and other wildlife.
Cedar Acres is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature.

One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. Being avid hikers ourselves, we realize that there are not a lot of accommodations just off the Bruce Trail. So our main goal is to assist hikers as they explore the Bruce Trail. Whether you are doing the ‘end-to-end ‘ in one go (Bravo!), or doing a more relaxed multi day hike, our little bunkie will be a welcome place to lay your head at the end of the day. Our forest bunkie is nestled in the woods, a few minutes walk off the trail, and conveniently located approximately at the half way point of the Caledon Hills section. You truly feel like you are one with nature here. At night you may hear the coyotes howling in the distance or hear the local raccoons out on their nightly stroll.
You have complete privacy at the bunkie. However, if you need assistance our home isn’t too far away. Please note that it is an off-grid bunkie…which means no electricity! We do have lamps available in the bunkie, however bringing your own headlamp or flashlight is recommended. There is a cute, private outhouse w/ washbasin. We have an outdoor shower a little ways away from the bunkie site, with hot water. There is a double bed in the loft. The pull out couch on the main level also can be converted to a double bed. There is no running water at bunkie, however we will have some potable water provided. You will be met upon arrival.
PLEASE NOTE:
*There is a strict NO fire rule anywhere on the property.
*There is a hill (w/some forest stairs) that you will have to navigate to get to bunkie site.
Mono Mills is 6 minutes away w/ Starbucks, Tim Hortons, gas stations, pizza. Hockley Village is 7 minutes away, with the must visit Hockley Valley General Store. Orangeville is 15 mins away for all food and supplies you may need.

Toronto is a hectic city, and when I flew in for a few days of meetings, I wanted a place to adjust to the jet lag and recover from travel, so I stayed at the bunkie and turned my phones off and slept like a log. Highly recommend this spot if you want a retreat from the city!

I loved the plane crash site with the cabin. The cabin was cozy with seating and beds, even a loft. It was warm enough out that I didn't need to use the stove to keep it warm. It was pouring rain when I went so it was great to keep dry. Very secluded and private, no noise from other people or traffic! I did not have cell service however, that could be because of my provider though.

Staying at Pedro’s felt like an exclusive adult backyard “cabin out.” Pedro’s hospitality was second to none. We felt right at home from the moment of our arrival. The cabin is perfect for unplugging with the comforts of electricity, light, mini fridge, heater & A.C. The outdoor shower and toilet we’re a highlight - again well equipped and clean. Having access to the outdoor BBQ & Grill over the fire made for some yummy dinners. Ask Pedro where to get the best meat in the area. Who isn’t a fan of a hot tub under the stars and twinkle lights. A relaxing perk that was used every evening we were there. Behind the cabin offers two muskoka chairs tucked in the trees overlooking a field where you can catch a beautiful sunset. There are chickens and an array of other animals that were also cool to visit. Saugeen River Access #3 is a short drive away as well as another access point just down the road. Don’t sleep on this sweet little piece of paradise, with Port Elgin only 10 mins away there is so much to do in this beautiful area. Can’t wait to return.

We had an amazing long weekend here and truly enjoyed every moment. The place was very clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. Everything was neat and well thought out, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The washroom was spotless, water was provided, and the hosts even arranged electricity for us, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The whole atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. The cabin smelled wonderfully of fresh wood, and it was so nice to fall asleep while listening to the rain. We used the grill, enjoyed the clean and well-kept property, and spent our mornings drinking coffee by the pond.
Our dog had the best time running around, swimming in the small pond, and watching the frogs 🐸 she was very curious and really wanted to play with them! There were also chickens on the property, and we were happy to buy fresh eggs to take home with us.
A big thanks to Lisa and Scott for their hospitality. They were very kind, welcoming, and responsive to any request we had. We truly felt welcomed and comfortable during our stay.
We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely come back. It was a wonderful place for a peaceful getaway and an unforgettable weekend.

1 night at Beaver Valley Base Camp
Everything was exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. The property was incredibly easy to find, and from the moment we arrived everyone was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The cabin itself is amazing, comfortable, charming, and thoughtfully put together. The setting is absolutely spectacular and ended up being everything we had hoped for and more. It was exactly the kind of experience we were looking for.
We’re already hoping to come back again. I can only imagine that the last week of May would be especially magical with all of the apple orchard blossoms in bloom. I bet it would be absolutely breathtaking! Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a beautiful and memorable stay.

We had such a wonderful stay here! The camping accommodation was clean, cozy, and very well maintained. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The hosts (Joan, Onyx and Sid) were friendly, welcoming, and made sure everything was comfortable for us. We especially loved the quiet atmosphere and how well organized everything was. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing camping getaway.

Weekend Trip to Forest Cabin
This cabin was completely secluded - you couldn't hear anything at all and was surrounded with woods. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and peaceful stay was provided plus more. The wood stove warmed the cabin perfectly which was extremely clean and the bed was super comfy. Gavin and Della were available via text and responded to questions immediately. My boyfriend and I would definitely go back and I've already recommended the spot to my son.

Weekend Trip to Bruce Trail Bunkie
Beautiful view and really well located. MJ provided great recommendations for local restaurants and the bunkie was exactly as pictured. I stayed one night, but I wish I would have stayed a few more to explore the area further. Absolutely would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Pine the Sky
We stayed at the bunkie by Strawberry Fields and it is probably the best site out of all the Pine the Sky. It is very secluded, private and shady. Our dogs were able to run around freely without having to worry about the other people on the other sites. Keep in mind though that the bunkie is powered by generator so you have to ask the host if you want to use it. There were mosquitoes but not too bad once you get the fire started. Our host, Joan, was also wonderful and very accommodating during our stay. Too bad, we didn't get to see her dog.

Weekend Trip to Forest Bunkie on Bruce Trail
My son an I had a great time at Gren and Twila's cabin. The cabin is situated on a fantastic hilltop spot on their property that is private and has good energy as my son was very calm and happy. We will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing stay — everything exceeded expectations. The campsite was incredibly peaceful and well-maintained, with a beautiful lake that made the whole experience feel relaxing and unforgettable. The activities were fun and there was always something to enjoy, while the firewood provided made evenings by the campfire extra cozy.
The host was welcoming, helpful, and made sure everything was complete for a comfortable stay. The area itself is quiet, scenic, and perfect for anyone looking to unwind in nature.
One of the best camping experiences we’ve had so far. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to others looking for a peaceful getaway!
