It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound. We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land. There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails. Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps. It is a marsh, not a lake. Google Earth shows it better. There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :) This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave. There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge. This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush. We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter. Four-wheel-drive is required for access in the winter!

The lake warms up quickly in the spring and is great to swim in. There is a cabin that sleeps three and a bunkie that sleeps two. A $20 discount will be provided if both are booked by one family. Many camping items are provided, like a Coleman stove, tables, dishes, and a screen shelter. There is also a levelled off tent site with a private fire pit. You will have access to the dock and a large fire pit area which are part of the owner’s cottage on the property. There will be a port-a-potty on site. Lake Townsend is close to several conservation areas and 12 minutes to the quaint town of Markdale with several shops, a bakery, and a large grocery store. The city of Owen Sound is 35 minutes away. Harrison Park and Inglis Falls are huge attractions in the area. Each area has its own beauty and the hiking path between the two is quite spectacular. Parts of the famous hiking trail, The Bruce Trail, are also easily accessible from Townsend Lake. But once you get settled in, you may just want to rest and relax at the lake! It has its own beauty and serenity and is home to many bird species and other wildlife. Cedar Acres is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature.

Stunning sunsets - best in the world! Perfect for one or two people, there is a double bed, a single (which can be set up as a daybed for lounging) and a single bunk above the double bed. Lounge chairs on the sand and Muskoka chairs around the firepit (burning a fire is dependant on the town’s rules), and an outdoor dining table. The bunkie is bright and spacious, and steps from the public washroom and parking lot. There are no indoor cooking facilities guaranteed, although we are laid back, friendly people and so just ask! We also have a bbq and outdoor tap. This is a novel situation good for inexpensive short term rentals in an otherwise expensive town without public campgrounds. Looking for quiet friendly renters. Why sleep in a van or tent when you can have a bed in a bunkie with a fridge and a fan!?

We share our backyard with our guests, we are very close to everything that Bruce county has to offer, port Elgin, Southampton, golf courses, different accesses to saugeen river where u can go fishing canoeing, tubing etc., supermarkets, native reserve, sauble beach and dozens of other ones…all at max 15 minutes distance… in the property you will find everything u need for a peaceful stay, hard to describe everything you will find but u can read our reviews, some of them have beautiful descriptions of what is here for you, you must love animals, since we have our pets all around, u are also super welcome to bring yours. One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. We had a very nice stay! The hosts and cabin was perfectly welcoming, very clean, comfy beds and linens, and smelled amazing of fresh wood. Lots of cute frogs to watch and catch by the pond in the evening and we loved hearing the cows mooing from the other field. Neighbouring campers were a good distance away providing privacy. We got a great prepped bag of wood, newspapers and kindling for the fire. Thank you for hosting us :)

This was the best glamping experience ever. We LOVE camping, but wanted a new adventure. This was exactly what we needed. The airplane is beyond cool, the cabin is perfectly cozy. We went exploring the land and it was amazing. The silence, no neighbours, peace and beauty were everything we could’ve wanted and more! Rick was kind and responsive. Even the outhouse is cute and clean. I would recommend this site and experience to anyone who loves camping, but wants to elevate the experience.

Weekend Trip to White Pines Cabin Retreat

Lovely stay at the cabin, it has a beautiful view and the cabin has everything you need for a good stay. Water is nice and clean and you can swim in it or just sit in the shallow section. Kid friendly and the hosts were really nice! Highly recommended.

Lisa and Scott were such an amazing hosts. They had a wonderful cabin with amazing breathtaking views both day and night. The site images only tell half of the story and the rest is for you to explore. Highly recommended for a quick and comfy getaway.

3 nights at Willow Pond Haven

We had such a beautiful weekend away at Willow Pond Haven. Upon arrival and meeting Lisa & Scott, so kind and welcoming. She had picked a bundle of flowers and left wine glasses for us as we came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Every moment that followed was perfect in every way; hanging by the pond, cooking over the fire, watching turtles & frogs, fireflies, bunnies. Hearing the horses and cows nearby. It was fantastic. The bunkie is perfect, smelling of wood. They offer lights and a fan that you can use to charge your electronics. Scott is so kind chopping wood and preparing bags to make campfires seamless. We got great suggestions from the two to check out a great brewery in Neustadt and enjoy a delicious buffet meal at Pebbles!! (Highly reccomend). We can’t thank you enough for the genuine hospitality and love you have for your space and what it has to offer. We can’t wait to join you again.

Weekend Trip to Willow Pond Haven

We absolutely loved staying here. I would definitely give this haven a 10/10! Lisa was a perfect host. We stayed at cabin #2 , a cute cozy cottage featuring a queen size bed with twin over top, small table and 2 chairs inside. Lost of space inside. A big Jug of water was supplied. $8 for wood on site. The new pine smell of the cottage was amazing to smell all night long. Cabin was spotless. Porta potty was clean with solar light inside which was very nice for night time trips. Was a total surprise when the neighbors, 2 horses walked behind the cabin just steps away. They can only be seen up close from cabin 2 . Cabin #1 was close by. I would choose that site next time as it had more of a in the woods feeling to it. Both cabins are close to the Porta potty and water. Kayaking,tubes and life jackets are available to rent for $10 a stay. There was no fishing in the pond. Was fun to visit the chickens and play corn hole. We brought are small dog, she also enjoyed herself and the water. We will definitely be going agian. Would be fun to rent both cabins with family next time. Definitely check it out!

Weekend Trip to Pine the Sky

Beautiful place with about 2h drive from Toronto. We come with a dog, and my puppy loves this place too! Had a lot of first time experience here, kayaking, boating, bonfire…the bunky is cozy and just the right size for two. Joan is super friendly and helpful as…well we made quite some trouble. But she came and rescue us!!!
