This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

Nestled among the trees is Camp Kyle, our tiny off-grid cabin built for unplugging from the modern world—without giving up the pleasure of climbing into a king-sized bed at the end of the day.
Outside, you'll find a covered kitchen and dining area and a large open firepit for long evenings beneath the stars.
Raven Hollow is intentionally rustic. This isn't a resort tucked into the woods... the woods are the experience.
Expect wildlife, changing weather, dirt beneath your boots, dark skies, crackling fires and all the little sounds that come with sleeping in a forest.
And while the Hollow can feel wonderfully far away from everything, you aren't. Chesley is about 10 minutes away and Hanover about 20, with hiking, waterfalls, beaches, swimming, fishing, small towns and plenty more to explore throughout the surrounding area. There are also lots of backroads and opportunities for ATV and side-by-side adventures nearby.
Dogs are very welcome, but must remain leashed at all times while exploring Raven Hollow.

The terrain is mostly flat but interesting. Campsites are private with good separation from each other. ALL sites have 2 car parking, a picnic table, fire pit and covered wood for purchase. Campfires are permitted according to our approved burn plan before midnight.
5G/LTE cellphone service is good for Bell, Rogers and Telus networks. We have 3 outhouses on the premises and an outdoor hot shower.
FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩
Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station.
We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer
We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company.
Birders Paradise!
The ‘Long Point Birding Area’ in Norfolk County is one of Canada’s premier birding locales. With over 400 species of birds observed, Long Point looms large as one of the most exciting places on the continent to observe our rich birdlife.

Our 2.5 acre property is located just outside the small village of Millbank. The large lawn area is great for camping, campfires, playing games and relaxing while watching the horse and buggies of the local Amish and Mennonites go ambling by in a manner that speaks to a time gone by. We have now added a Bunkie that can be booked for a more comfortable camping experience. The Perth Harvest Pathway section of the G2G rail trail is quite literally in the backyard. for hiking , bird watching and biking. We have an outdoor shower and large sink in a shed attached to the rear of our garage. It is easy to identify as it has a large white x on the door. Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.
Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps.
It is a marsh, not a lake.
Google Earth shows it better.
There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :)
This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.
There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse
Your furry friends are allowed for free but if you have extra people please pay for them.
You can adjust your booking if there are more people than originally requested.
This covers costs like insurance and private property access, property taxes and the huge initial investment.
Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge.
This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush.

There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The lake warms up quickly in the spring and is great to swim in. There is a cabin that sleeps three and a bunkie that sleeps two. A full barbecue with propane is provided. Many camping items are also available, like a Coleman stove, tables, and dishes. There is also a levelled off tent site with a private fire pit.

Lake Townsend is close to several conservation areas and 12 minutes to the quaint town of Markdale with several shops, a bakery, and a large grocery store.
The city of Owen Sound is 35 minutes away. Harrison Park and Inglis Falls are huge attractions in the area. Each area has its own beauty and the hiking path between the two is quite spectacular.
Parts of the famous hiking trail, The Bruce Trail, are also easily accessible from Townsend Lake.

We share our backyard with our guests, we are very close to everything that Bruce county has to offer, port Elgin, Southampton, golf courses, different accesses to saugeen river where u can go fishing canoeing, tubing etc., supermarkets, native reserve, sauble beach and dozens of other ones…all at max 15 minutes distance… in the property you will find everything u need for a peaceful stay, hard to describe everything you will find but u can read our reviews, some of them have beautiful descriptions of what is here for you, you must love animals, since we have our pets all around, u are also super welcome to bring yours. One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. For the canine: please bring your bedding, there’s a few pillows and bed covers but bring your personal bedding, queen size…Looking forward to meet you.

Fall asleep to the sound of waves on the shore. A quiet comfy bunkie perfect for “glamping” on the gorgeous main beach in Southampton. 100m from the tennis club, short walk to uptown, with its many dining spots, and to the ice-cream shop! Stunning sunsets - best in the world! Perfect for two people, sleeps 4,. There is a double bed, a single and a single bunk above the double bed. Lounge chairs on the sand and Muskoka chairs around the firepit (burning a fire is dependant on the town’s rules), and an outdoor dining table. The bunkie is bright and spacious, and steps from the public washroom and parking lot. There are no indoor cooking facilities guaranteed, although we are laid back, friendly people and so just ask! We also have a bbq and outdoor tap. The bunkie is in front of our family cottage in the beachfront area of Southampton. Cottages are close together so you may see / hear the hosts and neighbours as they come and go, or walk along the boardwalk, but it is a quiet and peaceful spot.
This is a novel situation good for inexpensive short term rentals in an otherwise expensive town without public campgrounds. Looking for quiet friendly renters. Why sleep in a van or tent when you can have a bed in a bunkie with a fridge and a fan!?

Weekend Trip to Willow Pond Haven
What a delightful stay! We booked at the last minute and the hosts were so gracious. It was a perfect getaway. The cabin was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The bed was really cozy, there was room for our pup and we were grateful for the small heater. The setting was just lovely — pine trees, water views and a lovely meadow for the dog to run in. We were grateful for the picnic table, extra drinking water, propane grill, fire pit and really comfy chairs.
The location is great — sweet small towns, great coffee, and nice hikes without a lot of people.
We will DEFINITELY be back. If you’re considering booking — don’t wait! This is your place!

This clean and tidy bunkie has everything you need for a private, restful stay. We watched chipmunks, a fox, and a wild turkey traverse the field as we sat in our chairs by fire. Lovely. Dress for cooler weather bring extra blankets. The loveseat pulls out into a bed, so one can sleep in the loft and another on the main floor is not a couple. Very nice!

1 night at Cottonwood Manor
This is a great spot for overnight camping while cycling the G2G trail. The reservation system was easy. The amenities are great (hot shower, snacks to purchase). The bunkie was perfect for a rainy overnight.

This is the cleanest bunkie I have ever stayed in. Everything was thoughtfully provided. Water, little heater, bbq, wood, extra blankets. Even a little wagon to help move things from my car to the bunkie location. I was offered help if needed and also given privacy. The whole site is tidy and pretty. The water fountain in the pond is a wonderful relaxing backdrop.

We had a lovely stay at white pines. Everything was thought about and Gillian was very helpful. The stay was very comfortable. Our pup and us enjoyed the stream and had a very calm and relaxing stay. We will definitely be coming back.

We had such a lovely stay at Willow Pond Haven! ❤️ Everything was perfectly set up for us—even the firewood for a cozy bonfire. We just had to bring our food and ourselves! Lisa and her partner were so warm and welcoming, and the property is beautiful and peaceful. We truly enjoyed our family getaway and would love to come back.

My friends and I came to stay for my 30th birthday and could not have asked for a better place. There is so much more to the place than you could imagine and so much to do! Weekend Trip to Bruce Trail Bunkie
We really enjoyed the Bruce trail Bunkie! It was well situated, well stocked and just a quaint cozy little space. The loft bed was comfortable and nice, the outhouse was tidy and clean. The neighbouring Conservation area and the close proximity to restaurants and stores was an added bonus.

Weekend Trip to White Pines Cabin Retreat
Gillian’s place is a vast open area that puts the guests in a charming cabin stream side (think: trickling water as you lay in your comfy bed). She’s thought of everything to give a comfortable stay for any guest. There is an excellent fire pit with surrounding benches and a charming covered sitting area. A surplus of outdoor games keeps everyone busy. Great spot, great hosts.
