We had a wonderful stay at Camp dans Rouge! Rae was a wonderful host, always going above and beyond to making sure we were well settled, comfortable and had a great time there!
If you’re planning on going there over the winter, don’t hesitate! The furnace warms up the cabin very well (we were toasty, also there’s a CO2 detector so no risk there), the bed was comfy, and the place equipped with everything one might need while camping and more (kitchen utensils, but also kettle, mini fridge, etc.). We definitely had a great stay and would totally be down to come back another time!

Six stars for Camp Dans Rouge! Amazing scenery, a roaring wood stove to keep you warm, and the best hospitality from Rae and her little helper. If you need a perfect mountain escape by the river, this is it. Highly recommend!

We had a nice stay at Nathalie's cabin. It is really well equipped so you don't need to think of everything like a tradition camp site. The bed is also veryy comfy. She has cute chickens and dogs on the property as well.

Rae is super kind and her cottage has everything you need for a good time! The river was beautiful and it was a great place to unwind. She was very communicative and understanding. Went above and beyond to stock the camp with toys and a play pen for my 15 month old son. Great time and we will be sure to return!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It is very cozy and warm, spacious, and equipped with most of the essentials needed for a comfortable visit. The kitchen, in particular, is very well stocked, which made our stay easier. The location is also wonderful—being close to the lake allowed us to enjoy swimming and kayaking in the mornings, which was a highlight.
That said, there are some areas that could be improved. The cleanliness could be better—we found dirty plates and kitchen utensils, and the jacuzzi definitely needs attention. It had sand inside, a piece of a metal hanger, and its cover is deteriorating. The mattresses, pillows, and bed linens are also quite old and would benefit from being replaced, as the blanket felt rough on the skin. Additionally, there were no toiletries such as shampoo available in the shower.
Overall, we had a great stay and even wished we could have stayed longer. With a few updates and improvements in these areas, the experience could be even better.

Weekend Trip to Dobedo Camps
It was our second time staying at Matthew’s camp and yet again we have nothing but good things to say! He was very accommodating to our later arrival and helped bring our things to our site.
This time we stayed at Eagle’s camp and the view did not disappoint. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the clean, and well stocked amenities. Thank you again Matthew and we look forward to another trip out there!

After driving on the private road for 10 min, we arrived at a charming rustic Log Cabin, which can sleep up to 7 people, a basic kitchen ( 2-burner hotplate, fridge, sink; dishes, pots and pans, cutlery available). There is a beautiful view of the lake, which can be accessed via a short path down the hill. There was a dock, 2 kayaks and a canoe. which kept our young teens busy. Also a nice fire pit, with extra rocks to sit on.
Matthew is a very nice, welcoming and accommodating host.

2 nights at Dobedo Camps
My fiancé and I had a two night stay at Camp Raven in the beginning of August to celebrate our anniversary. As someone who grew up in the city and has never experienced camping in any capacity, I was as excited as I was nervous. Luckily, thanks to how naturally beautiful and welcoming this reserve of nature is, along with Matthew’s kindness and empathetic hosting, coming back to Camp Raven is something we’re very excited to make a tradition out of!
The highlights for me have got to be: The amazing quality of the lakes, the boating (kayaking and canoeing), the campfires we were able to make right next to our lodging, the hiking trails surrounded by trees, and the view right from our cabin/lodge!
I’d highly recommend Camp Raven to beginners like myself, as well as experienced campers. The various activities mentioned above, Matthew’s kindness and professionalism, along with the vast and beautiful nature reserve is sure to be an overall incredible experience for anyone.
I feel very thankful to have found Camp Raven and look very forward to coming back soon!
