This cozy retreat is full of character. Kids love the private sleeping alcoves, while adults enjoy the carefully curated library of literature, gardening, art, politics, and more. The built-in bunk beds are double-sized and surrounded by bookshelves. The 12' x 9' space also includes a cozy seating area and kitchenette with a live-edge ash countertop.
This is a glamping-style experience. There's no running water, but we provide drinking water and happily refill it as needed. An electric two-burner stovetop and cooking essentials are included. There's no fridge, but we can provide a cooler and ice packs. The washroom is a composting-style outhouse that uses a bucket system. It's emptied regularly and kept clean and odour-free. Wi-Fi is available.
There's no indoor shower. During the warmer months, you're welcome to use our solar-heated outdoor shower, though it's only warm after a sunny day. You might also enjoy a visit to the Scandinave Spa at Blue Mountain for hot showers, baths, and saunas.
In winter, the cabin is well insulated and easily heated with an electric space heater, though the outhouse is unheated.
Guest access
Guests have exclusive use of the cabin. The outhouse is shared with our plant nursery customers during the growing season but is rarely used and can be locked for privacy. The solar shower is also available during warmer months.
Other things to note
We have two young dogs who sometimes bark at newcomers. They're friendly but can seem intimidating at first, and we're helping them learn better manners!
