Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. 2 nights at Cozy Cabin in the Woods

The cabin was charming and cozy, it came with various board games to pass the time and a telescope to enjoy the stars at night. The hammocks or what my partner and I call the nest was relaxing. We also had a golden retriever visit us on our 2nd and last day in the cabin. She was very friendly. If ever she does wander off on your visit, its the neighbor's dog, she is not lost, she's just enjoying the nature like the rest of us.

Weekend Trip to Cozy Cabin in the Woods

My wife and I spent Thanksgiving weekend at Sabrina’s cabin and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect—just a 10-minute drive from Rosseau, where we found a fantastic general store that had everything we needed (including firewood). We took our dogs to a nearby beach, grabbed great pizza at Rosseau Pizzeria on the boardwalk, treated ourselves to gelato, and browsed a charming antique shop in town. The cabin itself was amazing—extremely clean, cozy, and full of personality. Sabrina has thought of everything: a full-sized fridge, coffee maker, electric heater that kept the cabin nice and toasty, and even a whole upper loft we didn’t end up needing because the pullout couch on the main floor was perfect for us. Our big dog and mini poodle had plenty of space to stretch out too. The outhouse was surprisingly spacious and spotless, stocked with toilet paper and featuring a working sink with running water both inside and outside for washing dishes. We spent most of our time by the fire pit, which was large enough for a group and surrounded by ample seating. Between the two wooden picnic tables, the big deck, and the covered area with hammocks, there were endless spots to relax, cook, and enjoy the outdoors. Even though the cabin is just off a road, the trees and forest create a real sense of seclusion and peace—you quickly forget there’s any traffic nearby. Sabrina was extremely kind and welcoming, and we couldn’t have asked for a better host. We’d happily come back!

We had a great weekend at Sabrina’s cabin. Felt just like camping with a little less work. Everyone enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks and being so close to Rosseau and nearby trails made for a great fall getaway! Would love to visit again!

Weekend Trip to Cozy Cabin in the Woods

This cabin was the perfect little getaway for our artist retreat weekend! It's cozy inside and the space heater works very well! The outside has a lot of fun play structures and hammocks to let out your inner kid (or actual kids) and the twinkle lights add a touch of magic! I have been here a few times now and it keeps getting nicer every time! It shows that there is a lot of care and love that has gone into this place :) I highly recommend checking it out!

August 25 to 30th 2025 Second time up to Maple Rivers Log cabins, Sequin, Parry Sound. Was there last year. Cabin 3, Dariusz,s 3 cabins are set in a beautiful, serene setting surrounded by a mixed forest, of pines, maples, Birch..., they are off grid, nicely spaced , in the center a large community fire pit. Pit toilet never smells. The host's friendly dog "Daisy" comes to play fetch with balls or sticks., Maple lake is 20 mins away as is Orrville general store. And Rousseau. Dariusz is very friendly host always willing to answer questions, fix any concerns. His wife is of great help as well. I highly recommend Maple Rivers Log Cabins, and will keep going back. 4 nights at Maple Rivers Log Cabins

I loved my stay at the cabin! Although there is no electricity from the grid, Dariusz uses propane and solar cells to equip the camp with a fridge/freezer, hot water, and light, which I really liked. I loved Daisy, their female Border Collie; she protects the visitors during the nights by sleeping under one of the cabins, and she is a lovely companion during the day! Bring a ball, she loves playing with other dogs with the ball. My dog and I really enjoyed our week there: fresh air, quiet and rustic place, lots of hiking opportunities around, and off-leash walks/play on the property. Will definitely return next year.

1 night at Mojitoville

We loved staying at Mojitoville! The site was secluded and clean, and had really handy amenities. We loved sitting around the fire pit after cooking up a nice meal on the grill. The washing up station was super handy for cleaning up afterwards, and the on site shower was great to freshen up the next morning. Denise was very responsive to any questions and was a great host. Highly recommend this awesome site.

Weekend Trip to Sanctuary Glampsite Retreat

What a super special and beautiful place. Before my review of the property, I must say that Melissa is such a kind and friendly soul. It was a pleasure meeting her and chatting when we first arrived when she showed us what’s what. Her husband was also super nice, he picked up us from the dock to take us to the island that they live on. Usually me and my partner stay in bunkies where the main property is a little further away from the bunkie, but it was so private even though it’s on the next plot. We’re used to ‘roughing’ it a bit a bit more when we glamp but this weekend, especially since it rained in the evenings, we were so grateful we’d picked somewhere with an outdoor living area. We hung out there for hours both evenings, listening quietly to music and enjoying each other’s company, playing cards and cooking great food. The region had a full fire ban so we couldn't cook over a fire pit like we usually would, but Melissa has thought of EVERYTHING! There is both a BBQ as well as a dual stove/burner, washing up sink, fully stocked cupboard of crockery, pots, pans etc which made it so easy! Appreciated the bug net (although almost 0 bugs), and the outhouse is very clean. We LOVED having Oakley come and visit us in the morning and evenings, she is very sweet and chill doggo. We also appreciated the use of the canoe, which we took over to a small island for lunch. I wish I could write more! Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us Melissa and Adrian :)

Weekend Trip to Cozy Cabin in the Woods

Sabrina’s cabin is a place everyone must go! It’s super cozy and near so many hidden gems. We had an amazing time roasting marshmallows by the fire, relaxing in all the hammocks, and swimming in the lakes near by. Sabrina is also an amazing host. Responds super fast and always made sure that we felt comfortable. We will for sure come back again!!

1 night at Rugby House Retreat

I actually stayed at “The Glades” cabin that they also have hosted, and we are SO glad we came! From the moment we got there we were greeted by the friendly hosts and shown to the cabin, which was completely stocked with cutlery, cooking utensils, and more. There was plenty room to walk around inside, and the view to the pond was beautiful. The entire property is very beautiful, and if you walk along the paths you will find a cute little cabin village they have created in the forests. It’s very magical. Firewood was provided and after we ran out we had no problem finding lots more wood to keep it running. If your looking for a fun little Camping escape this is definitely somewhere you should stay, either the Poor House, or the Glades you will very much enjoy the scenery. Well worth the visit and would recommend to anyone. Thank you so much for being such lovely hosts

This cabin is exactly what I needed. Just a slight glamp in the middle of the trip allowed me to reset and these cabins were perfect for it. There is no electric here of any sort so don’t plan on plugging anything in. Simple yet so much more fun than setting up a tent. Again. Bravo

Weekend Trip to Maple Forest Bell Tent

Laura and Dale were fantastic hosts! The fresh eggs were delicious, the cooking area had everything you need, the surroundings were beautiful and the hot tub and outdoor shower were fabulous! The glamping tent offered some amazing sleeps with the open mesh breezes. Mosquitoes and bugs are plentiful, but that's to be expected with camping and the outdoors, so come prepared! Overall, a wonderful retreat for anyone wanting to experience the outdoors with a little more comfort.

Weekend Trip to Maple Rivers Log Cabins

Hidden gem! Dariusz was very quickly with responses, last minute we booked 2 cabins and both were incredible, there’s everything you can need here if you are unprepared, it’s quiet and even a friendly dog comes by every now and then, very nice dog and listen very good if you see the dog throw a stick, it loves fetch. Clean cabins, the outhouse was very clean as well. Highly recommend going here if you’re looking for a quiet but convenient get away. About 10 mins away is maple lake which had public access and you should go to as well!
