Welcome to our peaceful 28-acre hobby farm, where you can relax, explore nature, and experience a little taste of country living. Our property features a mix of mature forest, open fields, walking trails, and a marshy pond that attracts a variety of birds and wildlife. The trails loop around the property, making it perfect for a leisurely walk or an evening stroll. Each campsite offers its own unique setting and experience. Whether you prefer the shade of the forest, the openness of the fields, or camping near our apple trees, you'll find a quiet place to unwind. Keep an eye out for the deer that often visit the orchard, especially during apple season. Throughout the year, our hobby farm produces fresh eggs, pure maple syrup, herbs, handcrafted soaps, and other seasonal products that may be available during your stay. Early summer is an especially beautiful time to visit. June and July bring an abundance of mulberry trees, wild black raspberries (black caps), rhubarb, and fresh herbs. We've also planted pear and cherry trees that are growing each year, adding to the beauty and bounty of the farm. Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway, a place to reconnect with nature, or simply a quiet campsite under the stars, we hope you'll enjoy everything our little corner of the countryside has to offer.

The Maple Hideaway

Tent site · Sleeps 8
Escape into the woods and enjoy your own peaceful little corner of Cherry Hill Acres. The Maple Hideaway is a spacious, private campsite tucked beneath a canopy of mature hardwood and maple trees, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the forest. The site offers plenty of room to spread out while still feeling secluded and connected to nature. Set up your tent beneath the trees, relax in a hammock, gather around the fire in the evening, or enjoy your morning coffee at the picnic table while the woods slowly come to life around you. With very little light and noise around you, evenings here are all about the crackle of the campfire, the sounds of the forest and, on a clear night, glimpses of the stars through the tree canopy. Wildlife is part of everyday life at Cherry Hill Acres, so don't be surprised to spot deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, foxes and plenty of birds passing through the surrounding woods. Guests are welcome to explore the trails throughout the property and experience our small hobby farm. Depending on the season, you may also have the opportunity to purchase some of our own WaBul Maple Syrup, produced right here from the maple trees on the property. The Maple Hideaway is a great choice for couples, families or anyone looking to unplug for a while, sit around a fire and enjoy a quieter pace. Bring your tent, your favourite camp chair and something for the fire — we'll provide the woods.

The Back Pond Escape the noise and reconnect with nature at The Back Pond, a peaceful campsite tucked away on our 28-acre hobby farm in the heart of rural Elgin County. Surrounded by forest, open fields and a natural marsh pond, this spacious site offers the perfect balance of privacy, relaxation and adventure. Wake up to birds singing, enjoy your morning coffee while watching deer wander past, and spend your evenings around the campfire beneath a sky full of stars. Whether you're looking for a quiet weekend to unwind or a home base to explore Southwestern Ontario, The Back Pond is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the outdoors. Our property features walking trails that wind through the forest and around the marsh, offering excellent opportunities for birdwatching, photography and wildlife viewing. It's common to see white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, foxes, rabbits, turtles, ducks, Canada geese, hawks and a variety of songbirds throughout the year. As a working hobby farm, you'll also meet some of our friendly residents, including chickens and barn cats, and depending on the season there may even be new arrivals to discover. Throughout the summer you may find mulberries, black raspberries, rhubarb, herbs and apples growing around the property, making every visit a little different. The Back Pond is ideally located for exploring the area: Port Burwell is just 20–30 minutes away, offering sandy beaches, swimming, shopping, restaurants, the historic lighthouse and the famous HMCS Ojibwa submarine. Several golf courses, fishing charters, horseback riding, hiking trails and conservation areas are all within a short drive. Explore the many Amish farm markets featuring fresh fruit, vegetables, preserves, baked goods and handcrafted products. Visit local wineries, craft breweries, and the nearby bee farm and petting zoo. Spend an afternoon at Makinks Flower Farm, where you can pick your own bouquet and browse locally made handcrafted soaps. Tillsonburg, Aylmer and surrounding communities offer grocery stores, restaurants, unique shops and seasonal festivals. If you're an early riser, don't be surprised to see deer feeding near the apple trees as the morning mist rises from the marsh. Evenings are wonderfully peaceful, with the sounds of frogs, crickets and owls replacing the hustle of everyday life. Whether you're travelling with family, friends or simply looking for a quiet retreat, The Back Pond offers a genuine country camping experience where nature takes centre stage. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing a little piece of our farm with you.
