FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩 Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station. We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! Water & Electricity There is no drinking water on-site—please bring your own. Electricity is available in the bunkie (solar-powered). Wi-Fi & Cell Service: There is no Wi-Fi and very limited or no cell service. Plan to unplug and enjoy the quiet. Garbage: There are no large garbage bins and no road side pickup. Please be prepared to bring your garbage to the dump during your stay, or you need to bring it home with you to dispose of. If any garbage is left behind a $75 cleanup, transfer and dump fee will be charged. Temperature & Seasons: The bunkie is available year-round, however, it is not insulated. If you are coming in winter or intermit weather, we are assuming you "know what you're in for" and will pack and dress appropriately to be in the bush. In winter, the road may not be plowed and could require a short walk in. Bring extra blankets for chilly nights.

We just bought an old house inside of a Forrest. It is beautiful! We are fixing it up to be a great spot! The property is huge and gorgeous! Pond, berries, gardens, beach near by. We are working hard at making our life to live off of our land. Animals welcomed! ( we do have a dog door, our dogs may come out to say "Hi" Come check us out!

Second time at this adorable cabin. Very well stocked but also minimalistic. Great place to extend the camping season if you don't have a hot tent. Spring Arbour bunkie was a magical experience for my husband and me. Although we were alone in the forest on our mid fall trip, we felt such a sense of peace cozied up in the glow of the wood stove. What a thrill to go up for a scenic ride in Erik’s ultra light two seater plane. We really lucked out finding this hipcamp. The instructions were excellent and the hosts very responsive.

Location and Accommodation: 4.5/5 The bunkie was great. Very cozy and comfortable. It was fantastic to have access both the forested area, and an open field for watching the sunset/sunrise or stars at night. Highly recommend this location in the fall when the leaves are changing. Close to Backus Woods, where I had a lovely hike as well. Host Communication: 1/5 I was given too much information. Bombarded with four different text walls of instructions, rules etc. all saying almost the same thing but slightly differently (or contradicting one another sometimes). The only personal communication (aside from several pre-written ones) I received from hosts was a message that said "Okay only if you need please ##########." This was in response to my request that we communicate by phone number once I leave my house since I do not have internet on my phone. Honestly, it made me feel like I was bothering them if I had questions while I was there - and I did end up having questions about how to safely operate the air intake on the woodstove but I just decided to keep it to myself. Value: 3.5/5 This place was awesome, but a touch expensive. After paying an extra $22 for firewood (necessary - it was close to 0C at night) and cleaning fees (I did all the cleaning because I was told to leave it better than I found it. There are not even sheets to change) it was 270 for 2 nights. At that rate, I expect to at least be welcomed by the hosts. Overall, would return (after trying other spots)

We loved the cabin. It was beautifully decorated and clean. We didn’t build a fire because of rain but we certainly enjoyed the hot tub surrounded by all the beautiful colours and falling leaves. Ben was a great communicator. We will be back :)

A beautiful, secluded little spot. That perfect combination of feeling like you are camping within nature but with the luxuries of a gorgeous shelter and easy to use amenities. There is one other site but you wouldn't know they are there, there is enough distance. Host is very kind and communicates with fast responses.

View of the lake was beautiful with access to the beach. Host was friendly and helpful (raining during our pack up and brought garbage bags to keep everything dry). Clean and simple inside with ample space both in the dome and outside (picnic table, chairs, bistro set). Will certainly book again for another getaway!

This place has become my favourite year round trip! Between the quiet and the lovely farm, the animals and the adventures you can conquer I SUGGEST COMING BY AND STAYING ! Plus OBVIOUSLY BROOKS AND RUBY the best tour guides you can ask for, so lovable and so welcoming! It's like 10 minutes outside of Woodstock so supplies are easy to come by and the market they have makes it even better for farm fresh foods!!! Lots of trees and room for the dogs to run. Property lines for the roadside houses are clear but it's a bit unclear where this property ends. There are some nice spaces to set up and some very pretty meadows. You can hear some noise from neighbouring property but the space is completely private.

About

Walk where Canada’s earliest inhabitants did and imagine the Attiwandaron longhouses and palisade walls that once stood proudly at Southwold Earthworks National Historic Site.
