Welcome to our hidden oasis! We're a 2025 Canadian Hipcamp Newcomer Award Winner! This is quite an honour, only 8 were given out this year! Copy this link into your browser to view this fun video of our property (thanks Kyle!): [xxxxxxxx] Our 14 acre property is a quiet oasis on several biking trails (G2G, Cottonwood Road, Trans Canada Trail) and a very short drive to famous Elora (7 min) and St. Jacobs (20 min), Elmire (10 min). There is access to several Grand River launch sites, many nearby hiking trails, and countless Mennonite farmers markets with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and preserves. This is a hidden Oasis just outside of the Waterloo and Guelph areas. There’s lots of other exciting things to do and see in the surrounding areas – great restaurants, breweries and wineries, golf courses, rivers, fishing, agri-tourism experiences, events and more. There is really something for everyone around here. We have a beautiful green acreage with a picturesque pond, next to Cox Creek and privacy with open and treed space and the promise of gorgeous sunsets almost every night. We have: - Fire pits, - Picnic tables, - Muskoka chairs, - A lovely composting toilet, - Firewood for sale, - Space for RVs, - Space for tents We DON'T have potable water on site. Please bring your own water. Check out the individual listings for more details about each site. A couple notes about the property: We strive to give you a tranquil experience in a beautiful space where you can enjoy relaxing days close to nature, have space to play games, have a paddle around the pond, or seek out the many surrounding activities. You may encounter property owners (that's us!) and our kids enjoying a walk with their friendly dogs unleashed, picking berries, playing a game or doing yard work near your site and around the property. We hope you don't mind. We aim to give you a lot of privacy, so we aren't going to be around all the time, don't worry. But this is a shared space, that we want to enjoy alongside you and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do! We'll definitely say hi if we see you but we won't overstay our welcome!

Experience the unique Elora countryside, with its many local amenities. This site is right next to the water, in a flat grassy area with some tree cover and plenty of space to pitch a tent, dining tent and/or RV. There is a treed fence row on one side and a pond and creek on the other. A large fire pit, picnic table and toilet is nearby. There is no electrical hookup or potable water. There is an RV dumping station at the Elora Gorge Conservation Area about 5km away. Guests will have plenty of space to themselves, with the other Creekside site a good 50 meters away, with a screen of mixed fir trees to provide ample privacy. The acres around the pond is a hidden oasis. We’ve had overwhelmingly positive reviews about the sites. Additionally, we’ve reduced the capacity of each site (to 4) to help ensure our sites provide the tranquil experience you are seeking. If you want to book for more people we recommend booking additional sites, as tranquility is our first goal for our guests. The 3rd site, away from the pond, is pretty far away and almost completely out of view, but its guests may use the pond on occasion. You may encounter property owners enjoying a walk with their dogs out back, picking berries, playing a game or doing yard work nearby and around the property. This is a shared space and we really hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Please read the reviews to get a sense of the overwhelming enjoyment our guests have experienced. There is a treed fence row on one side and an open yard on the other. The pond is very close by. A large fire pit, Adirondack chairs, picnic table and toilet is nearby. There is no electrical hookup or potable water. There is an RV dumping station at the Elora Gorge Conservation Area about 5km away. Guests have plenty of space to themselves, as the property is very large and the other sites are far away, and almost completely out of view and earshot. Access to the pond is shared. however, please respect the other sites' privacy when near the pond. We've limited this site to only 3 guests to help maintain the tranquility of the space. Lovely space right by the water with large trees for shade. The water was great in the heat and we enjoyed the paddle boat. The site was clean and nicely laid out with 2 muskoka chairs, large fire pit and large picnic table. Having wood available as you drive in was great. My boys and I had a great time and were sad to have to leave early due to rain!

Gorgeous location and high-end amenities were the highlight. Additionally, the family was very helpful when it came to collecting firewood and directions to the spot itself. Would definitely go back and recommend the spot

I arrived to the campsite and hour early and had no problems finding the place even though the bridge was closed. The site was huge and sits right beside the pond. The dogs were able to run around free until the other sights were occupied. I spend the evening there and had a bonfire and then Saturday went to Elora Gorge Conservation Park and into Elora the town. Once back to the site had another bonfire and it was so peaceful. The other sites are far enough away that we could all have our own space. There is a peddleboat that I played with in the pond. Packed up Sunday and headed home a little early only cause it was a rainy day.

Beautiful and well maintained site. Flat ground, near a peaceful pond. Good communication and pleasant host. For a first trip on hipcamp, instead of usual backcountry camping, it was a good alternative. The only downside was the large number of flies, likely due to the farms/manure nearby. I'd try again at a different time of year to avoid them

I took my son for a lovely stay. The camp sites are spacious and well manicured situated alongside a pond. My son spent a good part of the day catching and releasing many fish. Perfect escape.

We had the most amazing few days on Laura's land! My kids loved playing in the pond right on our site. It was very quiet and peaceful area. It was convenient to have the composting toilet nearby (it did not smell!) We will for sure by back, thank you!!

We had an incredibly peaceful stay at creekside site #2. The entire property is so quiet and beautiful. We were 2 adults, one young child and 3 large dogs with a pop-up camper. All of us wanted to stay for much longer and will be back as soon as possible! The water in the pond is clear and clean, with a lovely small sandy beach right at our site. The view was so picturesque! We brought a paddle board and floated along quietly listening to the birds, toads, and the occasional tiny fish jump. The pond is much deeper over at site #1, great for swimming if you are comfortable with seaweed. Our dogs slept peacefully under the trees after running around on the lush grass and swimming in the pond. We were very grateful for the shade from the tall trees - our site smelled like fresh evergreen sap. AMAZING! We felt so secluded, even with visitors at the two other sites. Everyone was very respectful of each other, especially with the shared outhouse. The outhouse was rustic, well stocked, and well maintained. I found the seats to be a bit tall for my short legs - I'm 5ft short lol. I will bring a little step stool for our next stay. Anyone average height or taller would be very comfortable! Laura was kind, responsive and her directions were helpful and detailed. The firewood is dry and burned well, convenient to have right on the property, and very well priced. We all felt welcome and comfortable our entire stay! Highly recommend, this won't be a hidden gem for long.

It was a beautiful campsite. The perk is the outdoor bathroom with the composting. It is environmentally friendly and well kept. Friendly hosts and furry friends. We had a great time and would book again if we were in the area.

Wonderful quiet and clean site beside the pond under an old willow. Frogs calling, fish jumping in the pond and birdsong for company. Be prepared for bugs which we expected at this time of year near water. That’s camping. 🦟 Rustic but clean pit toilet on site with firewood, fire starters and soap available to purchase if needed. Close to Elora gorge which we visited, and Fergus, where we had excellent fish and chips from Golden Fish and Chips. Thank you to host Laura. 😊

The Hidden Oasis exceeded expectations. Super beautiful land, quiet and remote feeling while still being close enough to the city. Everyone was super friendly including the other guests. Brought our dog camping for the first time here and we think it was a great spot to experience it at due to its quiet nature.

This is a really nice property. Very flat, lots of space to set up. There was no shade where we were, we had beautiful weather but very hot with no shade. We actually went out and bought a shade tent for the kids to play under. Compost toilets were in good condition, although getting pretty full. The firewood was great, nice firepit. Overall a nice space.

This was an amazing spot to get out of the city, get the feet on the ground and connect. So peaceful, so quiet and hosts were great, we stayed 5 days at site #2 in beside the pond. Absolutely loved it, and would definitely recommend.

We stayed at site #1 which is right next to the big pond. Overall, we enjoyed our experience. The property is very beautiful and secluded. The host, Laura, was very welcoming! However, there were a lot of giant mosquitoes since we were right by 2 ponds and the sound of the bullfrogs at night was loud. Other than that, we had a great time!

A lovely secluded spot for a camping getaway! This was our second visit to Laura’s property so far this season. After a delightful weekend away just the two of us, we came back with the kids. The campsites are a good distance apart and feel private. We were on campsite two, and enjoyed the nearby pond (for kayaking and an impromptu dip!) and extra trees on this site. Toilets were well maintained. Getting firewood from the onsite wood lot was easy, so we could top up as needed. Thanks for another wonderful weekend!

We tent camped at the Hidden Oasis near Elora We absolutely loved how picturesque it was and very quiet. Lots of room for our very large 12 person tent. It was nice that there were two Adirondack Chairs provided and a picnic table. The site was very clean

We had a wonderful stay at this campsite. The grounds were clean, well maintained, and very peaceful. We stayed at Campsite #2, which offered plenty of shade and a lovely spot beside the pond. The host was extremely responsive and provided lots of helpful information about Elora and nearby places to visit. The only downside was that the pond attracts a lot of mosquitoes during the summer, so that’s something to keep in mind. Other than that, we had a great experience and would definitely come back again, especially during the cooler months.
