Sparrow Lake Camp is situated on the southernmost tip of the majestic Canadian Shield.  The site is known to have been a campground for bands of the Huron people prior to the European intrusion.  It is considered probable that Samuel de Champlain, the first European to explore Huronia, spent a night on this site in the 17th Century. In 1892, what would become the west side of the current property was sold by pioneer Captain Thomas Stanton to Toronto's renowned Massey family to act as their summer resort.  The resort sported the main lodge, dining room, and cottages and was only accessible by train and steamer. From the onset, the Masseys used the site as a summer retreat for the Young Men's Bible League of the Central Methodist Church.  Today, the property is a thriving summer camp that also offers overnight tent stays with stunning lake views.

Cranberry Hike-in Lakeside Site
The cranberry camp site is a lovely place, even though it’s close to the main camp site, we had full privacy. Well organized and super friendly staff. Nice fishing and bird watching. My kiddo loved it.

Duck Bay Paddle-in Site
Great place with very hospitable hosts. The value can’t be beat. Sites are nicely done on a nice lake. Wish campers would pack-out and leave the space the same or better than they found it. Overall, appreciate what they’re doing and hope to visit again.

Duck Bay Paddle-in Site
10th year camping with the boys!
We absolutely love camping at the "Duck bay paddle in site" at Sparrow lake campground! It is by far one of the best camp sites that me and my group of friends have been to in the 10 years that we have been camping together, and this is the second year in a row that we booked this site. Over the years we have been to a few provincial parks and and nothing can compare to the space and privacy at duck bay! It takes about 15-20 minutes to canoe to the site, or you can take the hiking trail. The site has a great view and lots of space to set up multiple tents. I would highly recommend camping here to anyone that's up for the challenge!

Cranberry Hike-in Lakeside Site
The campsite is great - both accessible via a short hike or by boat/canoe - all within 5 minutes from the parking yet it is very secluded. It is clean, enough space for 2 decently sized tents and the view is pretty amazing. Only minor downside is that you can hear the passing trains quite well from across the lake but that did not bother us much. Will be sure to come back later this summer!

Duck Bay Paddle-in Site
Nice, private, well priced.
Staff were friendly and accommodating. Site was private, well priced and not too challenging to paddle into. It was a good first time paddle-in camp trip for a family or a group looking to have camping experiences that are a little more removed from traditional camp ground settings.
