Our large secluded, pine forest campsite has a pine needle floor to make for a soft ground. It comes equipped with a small shelter, hammock, fire pit, grills, some cooking utensils and a composting outhouse. It's located beside a lovely creek with space to explore. Free range eggs and seasonal produce are available for purchase. Please respect the forest and only use the firewood that is available on the property. No check in after 6pm.

Bonfires, horseshoe pits and clean fresh air. 5 minute frive to "Saint Marie among the Hurons, Indian village and the Wye marsh, which contains many live birds of prey in cages as well as miles of boardwalks through the marsh and guided canoe trips as well.

Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022.
I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life.
The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood.
Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest.
My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things.
The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.
Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

Sparrow Lake Camp is situated on the southernmost tip of the majestic Canadian Shield. The site is known to have been a campground for bands of the Huron people prior to the European intrusion. It is considered probable that Samuel de Champlain, the first European to explore Huronia, spent a night on this site in the 17th Century.In 1892, what would become the west side of the current property was sold by pioneer Captain Thomas Stanton to Toronto's renowned Massey family to act as their summer resort. The resort sported the main lodge, dining room, and cottages and was only accessible by train and steamer. From the onset, the Masseys used the site as a summer retreat for the Young Men's Bible League of the Central Methodist Church. Today, the property is a thriving summer camp that also offers overnight tent stays with stunning lake views.

There is also a sugar shack and garage on the property for viewing purposes only. There is an outdoor propane shower and a large cooler available for your convenience as well. There are two cabins now on the property, but one is brand new and private and not accessible- it will be vacant for your stay. There is also a private sauna, but is also not accessible.
The cabin pictured is in the middle of a private 5-acre property across from Turtle Lake and spans turtle lake road, to Donnelly and Poke Road, so it’s easily defined by the roads around the land. There is no direct access to the lake, but there are many lakes and beaches within a short drive. There are also many quaint towns to visit, beautiful hiking trails to explore all nearby.
The main floor has a pull-out double bed, and the loft has 2 sets of bunk beds, ideal for kids. The bathroom facility is a newly built very airy eco-outhouse - you will be pleasantly surprised! There is a sink to wash up, and an outdoor shower, but for now, only cold water is available.
This an ideal family getaway or a romantic getaway, I look forward to hosting you!

This was a great weekend getaway and Erin and Scott's hospitality was amazing! They were really flexible with our late arrival time. The site was clean and well cared for. Site 2 is across from Site 1, but there was not anyone using it for our second day, which made it very private.
The highlight for our kids was the tour of their chicken coups and getting to meet their dogs and kids - our kids were over the moon! They even gave us a dozen fresh eggs for breakfast - such a treat. Will definitely be back! Thanks!

This was our second time camping here, and it definitely won’t be our last. The campsite was clean and well maintained, and we were lucky enough to have a site right by the water, which made the whole experience even better.
Lisa, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her guests having a great stay. We had another fantastic camping trip with our group of five and are already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

We loved camp in tent on Garry land. It was so quiet and beautiful even with the chickens :) We were close to a small lake and a river and enjoyed the sound of nature. The host was really kind and he took time every day to ensure we were good and to share is knowledge about his land and farm. The site is close to Wasaga beach and not really far to the Bruce peninsula, perfect to visit beautiful place around.

Sheila has a beautiful spot surrounded by lush gardens and a gorgeous river view. Though we were there on a really stormy night, we did not get wet because the tent platform had great drainage. Luckily the clouds parted for us to have dinner on the dock. The walk down to the site was a little longer than expected - but fine if you have good mobility! The outhouse was clean and dry and not too far from the tent area. We enjoyed our stay, Sheila was a lovely and inviting host, it was private and beautiful *bring bug spray!

Erin's place is tucked back into the bush off the main road. It was nice and quiet. There are 3 spots in one area (would be great for a group of friends). Our spot was large, and stayed cooled from the trees. There is a nice amount of room to pull an RV in and turn around. We appreciated the option to have 120v of electricity. The hosts were friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed. We wouldn't hesitate to return .

Overview
About
Saint-Louis Mission National Historic Site lies on a tableland beside the Hogg River, 3 kilometres inland from Georgian Bay, near Victoria Harbour, Ontario. This 2-hectare archaeological site was an open field when it was investigated in the first half of the 20th century. Since that time the field has been left fallow, while part of the site area has grown into a mixed hardwood forest and the rest has been planted with pine trees. There are mounds and surface depressions indicative of past archaeological investigations. Official recognition refers to the limits of the village and mission as defined by the palisade on the south and west sides, and by the riverbanks on the east and north sides.
When to go
The best time to visit Saint-Louis Mission National Historic Site is between June and September when the weather is warm and the site is open to the public. Avoid planning a trip from October to May, as the site is closed during these months, ensuring your visit aligns with the operational season for the best experience.
