We had a great weekend tent camping on Kristina's land. Easy to find and so peaceful. Setup was great and composting toilet was clean and spacious. Great communication with host. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful and accessible but secluded spot! Great for a relaxed car camping experience. The host was helpful and responsive. Fire pit and provided chairs/picnic tables were all in excellent condition. Bathroom also excellent and clean. 10 / 10 would camp again!

Wonderful setup and lovely location. Up on a hill surrounded by trees giving lots of privacy. Great clean and cozy outhouse/washroom facility. Lots of seating provided with brand new picnic tables for adults and kids. I am an avid kayaker and the Black River is just steps away. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to be back again.

This place is amazing. Nice flat spot to setup camper. Although there was a fire band on the fire pit look amazing with lots of gravel and stone around. Hopefully next next we can use it. The outhouse was amazing so clean and fresh with the pine shavings for the toilet. Made it smell nice.

We had a great time camping on Kristina’s land! The property is beautiful and has lots of space. We also really enjoyed having the outhouse with the hand wash station, which was very clean. I’d definitely recommend this site and would for sure come back in the future!

This is my second time camping here and it will likley not be my last! Absolutely love the complete privacy, and on site bathroom thats been always stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and soap for hand washing. My family/friends adore this spot and so do our dogs :). We even brought a telescope this year to look at the planets and starts as the sky is so clear and beautiful! Thanks to the host once again for everything! ♡

It's a great site, nice and open with a few decent tent spots, and a nice fire ring. The toilet is better than any campsite toilet I've seen (with a little foot pump operated sink). There was a bit of noise from the neighbors accessing their property late at night, but not the fault of the owners. Close to good hiking too.

My family and friends loved our camping experience! The campsite was very private and the hosts were very accommodating and super easy to comunicate with when we had questions! The dogs loved staying outside all day and attempting to catch frogs, and the humans loves the campfires, a break from everyday life, and that our get away was still close by to stores for needed food and supplies.

Amazing spot. Easy to get to. Very large camping area. Host was responsive. ***Very*** private spot. There is a super clean composting toilet which was an unexpected luxury! Will definitely come back.

This is such a beautiful property. You have it all to yourself, so it's quiet and private. I've stayed a few times, and I've enjoyed it each time. Nice to have a clean bathroom and a way to wash your hands too.

Absolutely beautiful area, very private and relaxing, great features including outhouse! We had a wonderful time here over the Victoria Day long weekend. The camp was super private, didn't see or hear a single other person our entire stay! Which was exactly what we needed/were hoping for in a relaxing trip away from the busy city.
Lots of frogs in the pond infront of the large firepit, site was very clean and well kept, washroom exceeded our expectations as far as outhouses go, the Black River is visible directly across the street and was great for canoeing(had a bit of a hard time getting canoe in and out of the tall muddy river banks but with a rope we managed), plus we purchased wood with our stay and were provided a great amount on site when we arrived, cell service is spotty so truly is an off grid experience!
Overall we had a fabulous time and will definitely book with Kristina again!

I really like camping on this property. I've stayed twice and I've actually already booked 2 more trips here for when I need to be in the area. It's pretty and quiet. The bathroom is great. It's a nice basecamp to hike in the QE2 Wildlands and there are other enjoyable local trails.

We had a great time! The fire pit and outhouse are enough of a reason to visit this very private site! With the option of purchasing wood that is already piled by the fire pit, to the thoughtfulness of having hand soap and hand washing sink available in the outhouse, we will definitely be returning!

Absolutely loved staying at Kristina’s site.
The site is very large and very private. Lots of spots to set up my trailer and lots of flat spots for tents. Fire pit is amazing and the outhouse was the nicest I’ve seen so far!
Very close to the falls, lakes and lots of hiking around. There is a river right across the street which is perfect for a SUP. Fireflies were everywhere too which was a beautiful bonus.
Communication with Kristina was excellent and will definitely plan another trip out.

If you are looking for a classic Northern/Muskoka escape (and I should know after cottaging there for over 50yrs!), this is a wonder-full find that quite frankly I don't want to share so I can keep it to myself! Its full of mixed bush, LOTS of birds (saw a pilated woodpecker!) and loads of frogs that created a cacophony of sounds once the sun started to set....and oh yes, the stars come out for sure here away from town/city lights. Be sure to bring lots of water, for drinking AND washing up, as the water in the river is very iron-rich and not for either....but you will discover the best little outhouse in woods I've ever seen, with a marine pump and water for washing up there. The bugs are the usual sort in the woods, mosquitos/deerflies/blackflies, so prepare for that, but we were there mid-June which is usually the worst time and it wasn't bad at all the first night (breezy and cool temps) but after a day of hot and humidity, its best to stay in the camper and enjoy a book. Fantastic campfire set up, safest I've EVER seen, with gravel all around and lots of seating, and wood is avail to buy which saves on a ton of time. We heard TWO vehicles go by each day, a garbage truck and a schoolbus - thats it. The only suggestion I'd have (tho I can see they are hard at work at building ALOT there) is a simple outdoor shaded area with a picnic table (or a hippie kitchen as I call it) ...just a counter w/ a plastic bin inserted that u can take out for washing dishes/washing up.

This campsite has a lot of potential. I would definitely recommend it for larger groups or folks with many cars and/or tents, as there’s plenty of space for that. Anyone unfamiliar with the Muskoka region will find it conveniently located to a lot of great areas, nature trails, etc and have fun exploring. There isn’t much to do in the immediate area, so bringing activities to do on site or expecting to venture out is helpful. The washroom was a great addition, super private and well stocked.
The site has no coverage to protect from sun, I’d recommend bringing shade or cover. When rainy, the entire area turns to mud, and the path to the washroom becomes a little dangerous. We also had an intense bug problem while there, presumably due to the many pools of still water and swampy areas nearby.
I think the site would benefit from some solid footpaths, including further back into the site; rain or sun coverage for guests; and warning guests about the bugs. They were genuinely at times unbearable.

First, let me be clear that the only reason I selected "maybe" for the question of whether I'd recommend the site is strictly because it's a very good site for some activities, but depending on what kind of camping you had in mind, it *might* not be ideal.
The host was responsive and friendly, and I had my half face cord of wood waiting for me, along with the rest of the site being very tidy and ready for me. The directions were clear. The outhouse was immaculate.
The fire pit area is great. The host put time into making it large, comfortable, and safe. There's a small pond behind the fire pit, in case you need extra water to extinguish your campfire. I saw a couple of wee frogs in it. :) Do be mindful of bugs.
The site definitely lives up to both the retreat and the dark sky claims; it's fairly secluded and isolated, and the sky was incredibly dark at night. I saw a lot more stars than I see back in the suburbs. It would be a great spot for stargazing and astrophotography. Also a great spot if you wanted to do a solitary activity like a meditation retreat.
If you go in peak bug season, employ a layered defence.
So, why did I select "maybe"? Basically because the usable area in the site is limited. There is a gravel roundabout driveway, the fire pit area, and a couple of flat spots. You don't have immediate access to trails/etc., so while it's a good place to set up camp, you might need to go for a walk or drive for activities.
