I would highly recommend freds land, its easily accessible and a safe and quiet place to stay, me and my gf really loved the place. 10/10

I love the place ,it has a very nice view and beautiful place to relax. One thing that makes me more happy is that there's no mosquito , you can just open the tent for entire day and night.😊😊

Beautiful country and beautiful sunsets on a nice lake, the country store has everything you need,unfortunately for me, I don’t like having campsites side by side without any buffer zone. And of the three offered, two of them had major slopes and plenty of rocks and roots sticking out. The view of the lake is very nice, but if you turn around, you get the view of the overflow/old material/unwanted stuff all out in the open. And luckily there was a washroom across the street, as the outhouse has some serious attention needed. That being said, this may bring me back to overcrowded provincial parks.

We loved camping on Fred’s land! Fred was very personable and kind, and gave us a thorough tour of the campground. The sites were spacious and clean, with electric plugs, fire pits, and tables available. They also have a private beach and dock for site guests, with a public beach and park on the other side of the road. Also, their general store has anything you may need, or want, while camping, including fire starter, ice, and Kawartha Dairy ice cream! We were so pleased with our experience and can’t wait to return!

Simply Wow! if you like pure nature, not too much crowd, then this is the place. Fred and Jill (owner) are very friendly. Plus the one and only store has everything you need. Will book this place again. i would like to mention here that #1 and #2 are flat surface which is good for Tent campers. #3 is uneven. Thank you Fred.

I had an amazing experience at Fred’s campsite! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was. The check-in process was smooth and Fred was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great tips on local hiking trails and nearby attractions. The campsite itself was peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature and lake. We loved waking up to the sound of birds, the fresh air and lake view. The lots were spacious, offering plenty of room for our tent and gear without feeling crowded. It was such a treat to sit by the fire at night under the stars. Whether you're looking for a relaxing escape or an adventure-filled weekend, this campsite has it all. I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful location with stunning sunsets. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly! Dogs aren’t allowed at the main beach but there is a private swim area on the property that dogs can swim in.

As a family of 3 we love the outdoors and this camp site was beautiful and peaceful. Totally worth the drive 4 hours. The hosts were so kind and you can tell they love what they do. We will be back for sure! Ps my son loved the size of the ice cream cones.

The sunsets on the dock were beautiful, and I really enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. The proximity to the lake was definitely a plus. I was also fortunate to be the only camper there during my stay, thankfully. That said, the experience overall didn’t quite match what I had envisioned for a peaceful nature getaway. The campsites are located just a few feet off a very busy, noisy main road. Traffic was constant, and passersby often stopped to peer into the site, which made it hard to fully relax. The campsites themselves are very close together, with no privacy or separation..so if others had been staying there, the combination of chatter, foot traffic, and road noise would’ve made for a far less enjoyable experience. There’s a public park and swimming area directly across the road, which was mentioned in the listing, but I had imagined the campsites would be tucked away off a quieter path. That misunderstanding is on me for not reading the reviews more carefully, which is why I’m leaving this honest one now. I also feel the listing photos don’t fully convey just how close you’ll be sleeping to the road. If you’re coming from the city and don’t mind a bit of noise, and want to be close to amenities, this spot may suit you. I can imagine those with children would enjoy the public beach and park and may not be as bothered by the constant noise. But if you’re seeking peace, quiet, and privacy, you may want to look elsewhere.

A Trip to Remember

We had a wonderful experience at this campsite! We traveled in from Windsor and arrived late at night, but everything was well-organized—we received clear directions and a map, which made setting up easy even in the dark. The atmosphere felt very safe and comfortable, and the cool nighttime weather made it even more enjoyable. The next morning, we met the owners, and they truly went above and beyond in their hospitality. Their warm welcome made us feel right at home. The on-site store was a great bonus—excellent coffee, delicious pizza, and very reasonably priced firewood. We also took advantage of the canoe rentals, which added so much fun to our stay. This is a beautiful site, and we’re already planning our return this summer. The hosts are top tier (amazing people), and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

The view is beautiful. There is electrical outlet And water but not drinkable. The dogs had a swim in their private dog beach it is located Left side of the campsite. Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful But Not Private

The setting was beautiful, we have no complaints about the sunsets. The available water, electricity, and picnic table were also much appreciated. Our issue was with the privacy. There is none, despite a gate preventing people from coming into the 3 available camping spaces. The 3 spots are directly behind the country store which seems to be the social hub of Eagle Lake. The store docks which are next to the camping sites were equally busy. From 7:30am - 9:30pm there is a constant flow of traffic and chatter, with people gawking and talking. We felt like zoo animals. The outhouse was designed badly and built on the side of a hill. There are public washrooms about a 5 min walk away, which rescued our stay. If you enjoy being in the thick of things, then this place is perfect for you. We learned that we definitely prefer a more peaceful and private setting.
