Amazing stay at dovetailed cabin!!!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience at this property. It was truly memorable—not just because of the beautiful place itself, but also because of the positive and light atmosphere that made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. Beth and her dogs were incredibly accommodating. She started our visit with a tour of the property, which made us feel right at home. The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. Despite the seasonal mosquitoes, we still enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable stay. The sauna was absolutely superb and added even more to the overall experience. Everything about our visit exceeded our expectations, and we left with great memories. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming getaway. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cozy Cabin Stay

Perfect stop between Little Current and Sudbury. The Century-Old Dovetailed Cabin is super cozy and it was lovely to curl up in the chair and read while the rain hit the roof. Even with the cold rainy October temps, I was super warm with the help of a powerful heater. This Hipcamp is a piece of history with lots of things to explore. Beth and her pups are great hosts. I hope to return for a longer stay with a kayak in tow.

A historic gem with a warm host

Beth is a wonderful host and such an interesting person - I’m so grateful I found her place. Her land and the historic buildings she has renovated with care lie along the Spanish River and all come together to create an amazing place. It was a treat to stay at this former canoeing base camp knowing it was built in the 1920s and that it was a part of the area's history. Cabin #3 where I stayed was right on the river, charming in its rusticity and a cozy and lovely space. Coincidentally, Beth is also a co-organizer of Sudbury’s first Latin American Film Festival, which I luckily got to attend. I had a wonderful stay - thank you Beth and all the best!

Wonderful Find

Lovely, very private, quiet tent-camping spot right on the river. Perfect for launching my kayak for some paddling and swimming. Drinking water and outhouse were a bonus and the sauna before bed with a plunge in the river was an added treat. Easy to find and Beth is a wonderful host! Thanks for an enjoyable and relaxing 3 days.

We had a great time tent camping at Beth’s place! The site was very private, super quiet, and beautiful. It’s a serene little slice of nature. We also had a great time in the sauna and swimming in the river! Would stay there again!

A beautiful spot, quiet, lots to do. The host Beth is amazing, along with her dogs. The only drawback was not having charcoal for Bbq. I would certainly go again. Thank you Beth.

Canoes, Saunas & Rodio

Century-Old Dovetailed Cabin

It was really an amazing experience we have had for 2 days Though it was one night and 2 days experience we felt that we are living there since months. We have done canoeing, experienced sauna, had bonfire and next day again did canoeing. We met Beth's friend and her mom and they really treated us like a part of there house, taking care of whatever we need and informing all the rules for canoeing with love. Moreover we had a lovely and a unique experience with sauna, because we have to sit in sauna and when it's too hot we have to dive in river and again come back to sauna, We did that a couple of times which gave us a sense of refreshment. Apart from this the cabin have a good space than we expected and the kitchen which is common and huge. The best part we enjoyed was playing with the pets, they were so friendly. We really enjoyed Rodio's🐶 company. He is a really adorable pet. When we came back to our house, there was this feeling of going back again and living there. So i guess that defines everything..!

Wonderful Stay

We stayed for 2 nights. The cabin was tastefully decorated and comfortable. The mosquitoes were absolutely horrible but both beds came with mosquitoe nets that were 100% needed. We mostly enjoyed relaxing in the cabin due to the intense amount of mosquitoes, but did go out on a canoe one afternoon when we had a nice breeze to keep the mosquitoes at bay. Overall, in spite of the mosquitoes, we had a wonderful stay. Our host Beth, made us coffee and tea and was readily available to answer any questions we had and did her best to make us feel welcome. Overall, the property and host were both excellent.

Return to the Spanish River!

We loved the Spanish Riviera! It was a return to the river for me having led a group of campers on a 2 week river trip back in 1988. Beth was helpful when we had a little mishap with our propane, generous with her space including a very hot and lovely sauna. We loved everything about her place! We will be back!

Very welcoming and chatty host gave me a tour and let me meet the cute dogs. Beside the cabins, there are an outhouse, an entertainment room, a sauna, an outdoor firepit and a porch right by the lake. Yep, canoes too. Electricity everywhere. Heaters for chilly days. Parking in designated area. 2WD accessible. Beautiful scenery.

What a beautiful property! Beth is an incredible host, and she, along with her two friendly pups, made us feel so welcome. She gave us a tour of the property, which includes a firepit, sauna, riverfront deck, outhouse, cabins, and a private tent space. The tent site is secluded, and you can easily park your car and walk a few steps downhill to set up. Our 4-person tent fit just perfectly. The location, right by the water, is stunning, and the entire property is truly gorgeous. I highly recommend experiencing this wonderful place!

What an experience !!

Beautiful and well managed property. The cabin 1 was decorated with love and I had a wonderful stay. The cabin is right by the river. You wake up, open the door and boom, the spanish river flowing right in front of you. The host, Beth is one of the best and nicest person I have ever met. Rodeo and Toby were ❤️. I am coming back with my wife and kids next time for sure.

Excellent stay and value!!

Beth was amazing. Great communication and made me feel very welcome. She even brought me coffee in the morning and got the sauna ready for me. The river, property and paddling were superb. I would be happy to stay there again.

Beth’s land was Beautiful. Beth was very responsive and greeted us with a big smile when we arrived. We stayed at the tenting site and had the most amazing view of the river. We got there late, so we didn’t get to enjoy the river during the day, but sat on the dock at dusk, which was so peaceful. I wish we had more time to enjoy the land. I definitely hope we can get back there soon. Thanks very much, Beth.

August at Spanish River

I had the privilege of staying in the dovetail cabin. Originally we had only booked for 2 nights but loved Beth’s property so much that we asked if we could stay for a third. The cabin was absolutely breath-taking. The river was beautiful and Beth treated us to a sauna each night. Beth was a gracious host who had a very cool and inspiring story. It was a joy to find a kindred woman of the wild. Already hoping that we could go back for more in the fall!

Spanish River Stay!

We had a wonderful stay in one of Beth’s cabins. The Spanish River along the property was beautiful and so peaceful, we got to enjoy a gorgeous sunset on the dock. Beth was incredibly responsive prior to our arrival and during our stay. When we arrived she gave us a tour of the property and we got to meet her adorable pets! Even though we only stopped for a night, it felt very homey and we will definitely return.

Beth’s land was amazing! She was so kind and welcoming with a tour and a smile right when we got there. Her furry friends were so cute and so friendly. The view was gorgeous from the cabin. It was everything we asked for and more. Definitely coming back!

Beth’s property is a dream! We ended up getting to stay in the dovetail cabin. Beth and her furry friends were very welcoming hosts. Directions and instructions were very clear and helpful. We loved kayaking on the peaceful Spanish River, using the hot tub, sitting on the porch, and listening to loon calls. Would definitely love to go back again. Thank you for having us :).

I loved everything about Beth’s land! The cabins were perfectly simple , extremely comfortable and right along the Spanish river ( what a site to see when you wake up!) I was able to use one of Beth’s kayaks and explore the river a few times during my stay and felt that I had the river to myself. The swimming was unreal! Refreshing and rejuvenating! Being on the land raised feelings of remoteness and tranquility. One of the best experiences I had on my trip. Beth was out of this world. So kind, extremely friendly and very welcoming!
