This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table

5G/LTE cellphone service is good for Bell, Rogers and Telus networks. We have 3 outhouses on the premises and an outdoor hot shower.
FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩
Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station.
We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer
We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company.

There are two campsites on the property, both just a short drive from two local beaches. Bass Road Beach is a rocky beach with deep water, while Silversides Point Road Beach offers a sandy shoreline with shallow water that gradually deepens.
There's also a public boat launch across the road from my house—it's the next driveway up.
Inner Woods Site
To access this site, park on the right side of my driveway and follow the trail for about 2 minutes. The site is fairly spacious and includes tables, chairs, a fire pit (I have a burn permit—just let me know if you'd like to use it!), a portable camp toilet, a camp shower, a tent, and screened hammocks (available throughout the summer if you'd like to use them).
The surrounding area is somewhat marshy, so be sure to bring bug spray.
Turtle Pond Nest Site
To access this site, park on the other side of my property, just past the Brakenfor Turtles sign and before my main driveway at 156. The site includes a fire pit (burn permit available—just let me know!), a tent area, and overlooks a peaceful turtle pond.
This site backs onto a swamp, so bug spray is highly recommended. It's suitable for a small RV, but please note that there are no septic hookups. I may be able to provide electricity depending on the extension cord needed. Water is available from a hose, and it's about a 2-minute walk from my driveway to the site.
I live on the property and am happy to help with anything you need. You can charge your devices at my house, and I can run a hose close to either campsite if you need water. I'm also very familiar with the area and can recommend great hikes, help you book time at the national park, and share other local tips. Just ask!

The cabin includes a double Murphy bed, we supply all bedding. A Cot is available for a third person. The cabin is air-conditioned, has a small sitting area, fridge, Keurig coffee machine, and heater for the cooler nights in the fall. Firewood available. There is a beach and a public park a couple minute walk from the cabin. There is a 100 km bike trail within a 5-minute bike ride from the cabin. Our Farm is located on the very edge of the Canadian Shield, so most of the landscape is a rocky, rugged, and naturally wooded. Throughout the property are numerous short, looping, walking trails that meander throughout the Sugar bush, pasture area, 3 season pond, and our farm animal "homes". These trails are perfect for short nature walks, where you'll experience natural wildflowers and plants, see and hear song birds, small animal wildlife and of course, farm life too.
We are also located on the edge of the Eastern Ontario "Dark Sky" Area, which means we have a very nice view from the edge of our pasture of the North Sky stars on a clear night, with very minimal light pollution.
Our varied collection of farm animals includes; lots of chickens, (including roosters who DO crow in the early morning hours), miniature goats, horses, a couple of barn cats, and a dog.

Gisele and Vic were SO kind and generous. The space is darling, private and well-planned, and they have thought of so many details and provided many extras. I would return in a heartbeat. A short walk takes you to a beautiful beach on Lake Erie, a short 10 minute drive takes you into town (Port Colborne) which is a delight (Pie Guy! Great inventive grilled cheeses/watching ships go through the canal/ cute shops.) The hosts anticipated needs and went above and beyond. From setting out firewood to providing a bocce set to having a nice bbq with side burner set up in the outdoor kitchen area - they thought of everything. One of our nicest experiences with a vacation rental.

Chris and Leah are incredibly welcoming and helpful. The campsite is clean, peaceful, and offers the perfect balance of privacy and socializing thanks to the shared beach area. There are plenty of fun activities for kids at the beach, and the time just flies by.
This was our second stay here, and one thing I noticed is that many of the guests are returning visitors, which says a lot about how much people enjoy this place.
We'll definitely be back!

We had a great time tent camping at this hidden gem! Host is incredibly responsive and runs a great campground. The site was breathtaking with private access to the water, and the boat rentals were the cherry on top.

The tent sites are really great, privacy is adequate, there aren't a lot of tent sites and they're away from the seasonal trailer sites so it's quiet and low traffic. There is a sandy beach but wading isn't great, weeds. They have floating doc's leading out to a swimming and seating area, it's all deep water, not an issue for me but worth noting for others.
They can be better with checking for toilet paper, the flush toilets and outhouse were repeatedly out of tp, there are staff but for some reason they don't make rounds to refill things. There are three canoes to rent as well as 4 kayaks, the kayaks are small and only suitable for kids and smaller women/men.
Firewood is $12.50 and ice is $6.
The Lady at #49 is a busy body. Beware.
Monica is great, her personality is hospitable kind, happy and she strives to accommodate.
I'll be back.

Beautiful place, loved the swimming area and beach. Great campsite for our pop up trailer. Everything was clean and nice. We rented canoes which was fun. Very nice place and experience.

Misty Meadows was an amazing experience! The land is very private and backs right on to the river. I was only a couple steps away from the water where free kayaks and paddleboards were open for use too! The sites are very spaced out so there is no disruption from neighbours. Chris provides a hammock for the site which was an amazing place to hangout and read a book or just relax. They also have good firewood for sale. Overall a great expereince, I did my first solo-camp here and felt very safe and happy. Thanks Chris!

The campsite is absolutely fantastic! The host sets off fireworks at night~ There are so many fireflies and cute little frogs around the site~ The cows and alpacas are also really friendly, and the host is incredibly welcoming and helpful.

i loved this area, the host leroy was AMAZING!
he went over and beyond to make sure we will okay and comfortable!
we travelled 9 hours away and let me tell you we already are planning another trip down!
the scenery is amazing if u love the outdoors and fishing to!
i’d recommend the Cabinco #15 as it’s private and you have everything you need!
once again leroy went over and beyond with us and i can’t thank him enough!

2 nights at Cabin close to Lake Erie and trails
We had such a wonderful stay with Gisele and her husband! 😊 They were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived and truly went above and beyond to make sure our family had a great experience.
One of the sweetest surprises was finding a little bed set up for our 5-year-old son. 🛏️❤️ We never expected that thoughtful gesture, and it immediately showed how much they care about their guests.
The property is beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. 🌳✨ Everything was clean and comfortable, and it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. We loved being so close to several beaches 🏖️ while still being only a short drive from Niagara Falls. 🌊
If you’re looking for a quiet family-friendly getaway, this is it. Gisele and her husband are exceptional hosts—kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making your stay memorable. 😊 We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

It's a great little camp site and the quarry was an amazing swimming hole.
I would suggest getting a camp site further away from the office area because the goats would not leave us alone. (Tent #3 we had)

Site B was absolutely beautiful! Got to meet Lenny, the ruffled grouse who wanders around the area :) Hes super friendly! Andre was very welcoming and the beers are on point. Especially loved the Maple Porter and Léo's Lager!! I will definitely be back, no doubt about it. The hike up the hill can be tough with all your gear, id reccomend bringing some sort of wheeled bag to help out!

We camped for two nights at Joan’s place. It was wonderful! Joan is the best host there is, and communication with her was good. The place is very laid back with a personal touch, quiet and private. The small river that is running by is paradise. There are nice walking trails in the woods within a short drive from the camp site (we did Hoggs Falls which was very nice).
