This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩
Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station.
We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer
We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company.
Birders Paradise!
The ‘Long Point Birding Area’ in Norfolk County is one of Canada’s premier birding locales. With over 400 species of birds observed, Long Point looms large as one of the most exciting places on the continent to observe our rich birdlife.

Sparrow Lake Camp is situated on the southernmost tip of the majestic Canadian Shield. The site is known to have been a campground for bands of the Huron people prior to the European intrusion. It is considered probable that Samuel de Champlain, the first European to explore Huronia, spent a night on this site in the 17th Century.In 1892, what would become the west side of the current property was sold by pioneer Captain Thomas Stanton to Toronto's renowned Massey family to act as their summer resort. The resort sported the main lodge, dining room, and cottages and was only accessible by train and steamer. From the onset, the Masseys used the site as a summer retreat for the Young Men's Bible League of the Central Methodist Church. This beautiful rustic cabin sits on a treed lot with privacy.
The cabin includes a double Murphy bed, we supply all bedding. A Cot is available for a third person. The cabin is air-conditioned, has a small sitting area, fridge, Keurig coffee machine, and heater for the cooler nights in the fall. Firewood available. Washroom facilities include a hot shower ( bring your towels) and composting toilet within steps of the cabin. There is a propane BBQ and a Gazebo.
There is a beach and a public park a couple minute walk from the cabin. There is a 100 km bike trail within a 5-minute bike ride from the cabin. Magic Forest lives up to its name! We needed a little getaway from the city and this spot was a perfect place to pitch our tent for the night. The property was easy to find with signage directing your way. Having a copy of the map on my phone helped too. The lots are decently sized and come with a firepit and picnic table. There was firewood on the lot for an extra charge but we brought our own. The property is thoughtfully laid out and is well maintained. There are a couple of cabins on the property as well that looked very cozy. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. We built a little fire in the evening and fell asleep to the sounds of cayotes howling in the distance. We were one of the only campers there so the vibe may be different during busier seasons. Looking forward to visiting again!

Weekend Trip to Pine the Sky
This was a hidden Oasis! My wife and I decided to spend our anniversary in Pine the Sky'. We were the only ones there as it was a cold late April. The tiny cabin (bunkie) was small but could easily fit two people. There were a upper bunk and a lower bunk we stored our clothes on the top. There are many planted Pune trees that gives privacy and gives a forest feel. We had a fire pit near the bunkie so you can cook. Joan was a fantastic and amiable host and we quickly became friends. Her two dogs were a joy to play with. The dogs are medium sized and playful but they are not aware how strong they are! There are restaurants nearby if you aren't cooking. We spent a beautiful tranquil weekend in nature. We are considering another stay should we want to get out of the city on the weekend. Thanks Joan!

Me and my spouse loved stayed at Addys. Corey was super accomidating and he let us enjoy the relaxing cabin in peace and quiet. We enjoyed the trail system out back and our dog was in heaven. Its a great vibe in the cabin and outside. It was cooler one night so the fire going was a great touch with the old records and dvds to keep us entertained. We enjoyed coffee on the upper deck and I even took a nap in the hammock. We are from Hamilton so if we come back we will book Addys again.

My husband and I went up and had an amazing time. We did the sauna and it was so nice being able to go in and out in the three hours we had. Beautiful scenery! Would definitely go back or rent the haven or Oliver’s house. 😊

We had a lovely time. The area was quiet and the tiny home is adorable.
I think they should have provided a paddle to stir the hot tub. It doesn’t really heat evenly. Your upper body can be toasty and feet cold. It takes a long time to heat up too. The sauna worked very well.
If you have any mobility issues, you may have a hard time getting up to the bed. The steps are small, steep and no railing. Be careful, and go up and down on your bum
Overall, It was a quiet, peaceful and romantic getaway. We were delighted to see some deer frolicking in the woods in the wee hours of the morning, plus many smaller critters. Perfect romantic getaway.

Weekend Trip to Burke’s Barnyard - Farm Camping
It was our third visit to Burke's Barnyard and our first time in the bunkie. It was very cozy and was already warm and comfy when we arrived. We stayed warm and cozy all night as the temperature dropped to -15C outside. As always we loved our trip to Burke's and can't wait to book our next visit.

3 nights at Backwoods Cabin Co
This made for a great spot to enjoy some peace and quiet away from it all! Close enough to town to grab something to eat and take a stroll but tucked away enough to feel lost in the best way. My wintry visit was exactly what I was hoping for. Knowledge on wood stoves is a definite must during the colder months but if you've got the skills then you'll be basking in the warmth it provides and loving every second.
