Dale's yurt-style tent was an excellent spot for us to meet up and rest for one night before our canoe trip in the Kawartha Highlands. Dale was quick to respond to my questions and went out of his way to provide wine glasses. The electric fireplace was a welcome feature on a cool night. We made breakfast at the well-supplied outdoor kitchen. The light at the outhouse was a nice touch, though it could have used some cleaning. Thanks a bunch, Dale.

We had a wonderful time here. The place was private, beautiful, clean and cozy. Dale was an amazing host - super responsive, flexible and a pleasure to deal with. If the outdoor shower setup and the outhouse can be fixed up a bit that would make it even more comfortable, but overall it was a great value for the price and I would 100% recommend this.

Dale's site is an ideal getaway for a couple who wants to go camping somewhere secluded but is no longer comfortable in a pop-up tent, on the floor with your own amenities.
Dale's site is basic, but in the best way. The tent, the amenities and especially the bed were quite spacious and comfortable. It has very thing you need ( but food. That's all you need to bring).
I highly recommend The site if you want to go Glamping on a budget and you're transitioning from regular camping to something more special and accommodating. Very well worth the price and will definitely book again..

We had a great stay at Forest Hill Retreat! The tent was lovely, well-equipped, and kept us warm and dry all night, even through some rain. It had everything we needed, though we did wish there was a small kettle inside. Since it rained in the morning, we couldn’t make coffee, and the gazebo shelter didn’t have the proper cover, so it didn’t provide much rain protection.
The site itself is beautiful and surrounded by lots of trees, but you can still hear a fair bit of car noise from nearby roads. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re looking for total quiet.
One of our favorite parts of the stay was watching movies under the stars by the fire—it was such a cozy and unique experience that really made the trip special! Overall, Forest Hill Retreat is a beautiful and relaxing getaway, and with a few small improvements, it would be absolutely perfect.

Dale was a great host! The property was well maintained, with conveniences on-site and gas stations, grocery/convenience stores and natural attractions just a short drive away. The lot size was large enough for multiple cars and tents and felt private.

This site is only 1.5hours east from Toronto, so its good for weekenders. Yurt is good size for our family of 4 (2adults, 2kids). In the yurt, there are a mini fridge, dvd discs, players, a projector, books and some boardgames. Sleeping arrangement is...a full size bed, 2 airmattresses and bedding, extra blankets, a sleeping bag and pillows.
Outdoor space, it has big green space to play soccer or freesby if you wish. Also there's an outdoor kitchen, shower and a outhouse. Kitchen comes with a propane bbq grill with a side stove. There are several pots and pans but you might wanna bring some cutleries and cups.
Kids loved watching movies outdoor by the campfire at night.
The site has many small lakes around that you can drive to, the closest one is 4mins away Burleigh falls. Our little ones enjoyed fishing and swimming there. We got to visit a cute little town Buckhorn, 15mins away. On the way back we stopped at lakefield beach, it was perfect for kids to swim.
I think it could've been better if we went in the fall. We were eaten alive by mosquitoes even with the multiple layers of repellent. So, be prepared if you go in the middle of summer.
You will hear the traffics going by at night, but you will have all the convenience being close to the city.

Absolutely amazing. Very peaceful and comfortable, good mixture of shaded areas for the heat but also nice sunny patches for soaking in the sun.
Kitchen has everything you’d need, and saves so much packing and hassle when staying here.
The projector and dvd laptop player is great, and is an awesome way to enjoy the night beside the fire.
Firewoods not available, but there’s very cheap firewood just across the street and the people selling it are very friendly.
The tent is very clean and has a lot of extra blankets, pillows, and even a few inflatable mattresses.
Super close to some beautiful beaches and very clear water.
Seriously awesome space, 10/10.

Foresthill retreat
If you are looking for a place where it is private. No one is right beside you. This is the place. Outdoor cold shower. Great for hot summer days. Dogs run free, which is a huge bonus for us. The yurt was lovely. Dale thought of everything to keep his guests happy! From the tools in the kitchen, to the dvd and projector for movie time. The night sky and stars were amazing. The nearby beaches were beautiful as well. Pure bliss from the chaos we normally live. Thanks Dale!

What a great spot to relax! Even with some rain used the BBQ and really enjoyed the cozy tent. Great space with all the right details from games, projector/movies, and useful tools. Thanks for hosting it is a nice private place to enjoy!

This was our third time staying here. It has started to become a tradition. We always enjoy it. Dale is great! I would highly recommend! It is nice a quiet. You have to space all to yourself! Looking forward to bringing our children. It is perfect for our son who has physical and mental disabilities. As it is nice and quiet for him so he will enjoy it.

My family and I had a great time at Dale's site for my daughter's 13th birthday. Dale was super responsive, and provided lots of extra bedding, a space heater and a projector. It was a bit of a wet night, so he even brought over dry firewood so the kids could make s'mores! The property itself is well kept, and you can tell a lot of love went into creating this experience for people looking to get away from the city. Can't wait to be back again!

Very cute yurt! A great spot to send a few days! It rain lots during our weekend here, but thankfully when we were forced inside there were games and movies to occupy us! We were kept very dry despite the hours and thunderstorms in the lovely yurt!

We stayed for a night to test out “camping” with our 14 month twins. It was fantastic. The host was quick to reply back with any questions you had and was very accommodating. We were impressed with projector and selection of old movies to watch if you wish. The tent was tidy and clean. We had a great time and it was a nice introduction to what this app has to offer.

Just a few things: Tent very close to Peterborough which has everything from restaurants to Walmart; Warm showers only in strong sunlight; Electricity available, so charge everything up; Most important the site was as described and photoed.

Great place to camp. Lots of things you need are already provided! Really nice site and the host is great. Everything else you need is just minutes away. Site is also very private and feels far away from the city

beautiful walk in site, ready to go. was only here for one night unfortunately but was absolutely worth every penny. kitchen/cooking gear already prepared with a full shower+ toilet combo. the tent comes with a comfortable bed & plenty of room for pets or company! 10/10

Place is having the potential to be a 12/10 place ! But i bit more love is needed. Zipper tent and some other minor things need to become repaired or renewed. Super friendly host and a great time thoug 🙏🍀

Really enjoyed the tent that was provided. Very roomy and setup was very inviting. The bed was amazingly comfortable.
On a Friday night you can hear some cottage country traffic but it does down later on. Everything was there as described. But read the description, it is rustic and everything worked except the BBQ which had seen better days. But if you have a portable bring it along. We cooked on a griddle we brought placed on a fire pit screen that was at the site. Lots of games provided. And there’s lots to see on short day trips. Great time overall, thanks Dale!

Everything was as advertised. If you're into daytripping there's lot's to do within a short distance. Site is very private although you will hear cars. Star gazing was great while we were there.
