My husband stayed last year and loved it so much that he wanted me to come with him. I'm glad that he did. Tom's place is magical. It is the perfect spot to spend a couple of nights. Lighting a fire on a cold morning with the deer a few feet from your window is just lovely.
Tom is responsive and the cabin is just as described. The location is great - walkable to downtown, although you feel like you are in a forest. The Skyline Park is a 5 minute drive. 20 minutes to the Wolf Sanctuary.

My daughter and I visited last year and she begged for us to return to "the cute little cabin on the hill". Great space, easy check-in and clear communication. We'll be back again next year!

Great location, just a few mins walk into town - was beautifully located, nestled at the bottom of the hill, we had deer walking through and lazing in the hillside. The cabin itself was awesome, rustic charm to the max, had everything you need. Even though was +30C we used the sauna and cold plunge bucket which was such a special addition.

We loved Tom’s cabin! The subtle touches made this cabin so comfortable! The sauna and cold shower, then a cozy warm cabin from the wood stove and finally, elegant deer, made it feel almost like a spa retreat in the woods.

This has been my third trip to the simple cabin and every time it gets better!
The atmosphere is amazing. I always have the best sleep of my life here- if you get the chance to book do so NOW! This place fills up fast for good reason.
The cabin is so well decorated and has everything you need. The outhouse is cleaner than my bathroom at home (lol) and the sauna feels like paradise.
The deer are tame and will wander right by as you enjoy a cozy fire outside. The distant hum of the traffic in the city below is only overshadowed by the gentle buzz of frogs and crickets all around.
The vibes are unreal here. If you need a detox from a stressful life in the city this is the place for you. There is something magical here. I can’t wait to go back!

The vibe of the cabin was on point! It had all the amenities you need, heat, air , cook top, utilities plus a fridge. Never mind the serene atmosphere. Hand feed the local Deer, wild turkeys and how close you’re to town, but feel so secluded at the same time. 20/20. This is our second visit and we are already planning our next visit.

This is a great little cabin, with everything you would need for some R&R. Thomas was a great host and had the Woodfire stove going for us before we got there to preheat it. As we were there in mid March. Saw tons of deer from the cabin and the sauna. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Tom has been a great host and has been very responsive in his messaging. It’s a very cozy and open space that feels bigger than it is. There’s a lot of deer in the area that you will see and get to watch. I would highly recommend this cabin, even without running water. He makes sure you have enough for your stay, and the outhouse is spotless and doesn’t have any smells like others. It makes it very comfortable to the experience

This place was perfect for a weekend escape. The cabin was beautifully decorated, cozy, and inviting. The sauna was a great addition—it used an electric heater instead of a traditional fireplace, which made it heat up quickly and efficiently. Everything was well thought out for comfort and relaxation. Tom was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making our stay even better. Highly recommend!

We loved stayed at Tom’s cabin. The area is so beautiful, very close to town yet secluded. We saw so many deer as we enjoyed the sauna and relaxed in the cabin. Would definitely come back!

I have always loved haliburton, my boyfriend and I have now had our own little Christmas cabin trip for the second year in a row now and we absolutely love coming up every time. Somehow this cabin makes us feel more magical with the snow, the wildlife, the cabin itself is always cozy and our dogs feel comfortable and safe there. We can’t wait to come back again! This is the perfect cabin if you're looking to recharge for a few days. Being so close to the town made it easy to grab some necessities, but where the cabin itself is located feels secluded. And you won't be disappointed with all the wildlife that walk across the property.

We had a fabulous two day visit to this adorable Cabin. It had absolutely everything you need and more.. not to mention how clean and comfortable it was. The Deer was one of our favourite parts. They walked by every evening and morning plus made the occasional mid day stop in. The cabin was private but yet still so close to town you could walk. We loved our stay and highly recommend it!

It was wonderful to spend time in a place so lovingly decorated and with much attention paid to each detail. From bedsheets to cookware to fresh flowers, nothing went unnoticed by us and everything was appreciated. A pleasure to stay in for some rest and relaxation and the energy of the place got my creative juices flowing again. Hope to stay again.

We have no words to describe how amazing Tom’s place is. From the beauty of the property to the functionality and comfort of the cabin. It was so relaxing and fun to stay there.
Not to mention the sauna? Hands down the best one we’ve ever been in and easy to use.
It was magical to see so many deer and wildlife around the property. It truly is a place that feels like a peaceful meadow.

The Cabin
The cabin was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Has everything we needed for a well deserved time off. The Deers was definitely a plus. We loved your experience at the cabin and we are definitely coming back!

Loved the place. So close to town and also very private. It’s the best of both worlds.
Deer are everywhere. No joke.
Would totally come back but might consider bringing a camping/Coleman outdoor shower bag.

Stunning cabin! We had a lovely visit and will definitely be back soon. It’s very thoughtfully furnished with beautiful midcentury touches. Very clean and comfortable.

I spent some solo time at the cabin a few weeks ago and have been dreaming of it ever since. I haven't slept better in months. The cabin is perfectly situated and in great area to go walking into town. It also has a cute little lounging area for hanging out indoors, too. It was really rainy during my stay, and the cabin felt like the perfect little hideaway. I would highly recommend it big thanks to its wonderful hosts :)
