Cranberry Camp is located 7 kms past the village of Pointe au Baril. It’s surrounded by Ontario native forest (the “bush”) and wetlands in the hinterlands of Georgian Bay. We love to share this beautiful part of the world with visitors! We are 3kms from Sturgeon bay Provincial Park (a nice beach!) and 3kms from the Bayfield Inlet public launch on Georgian Bay (visit the iconic pink rocks and windswept trees of Georgian Bay). We came to this area because of the fresh air and clean water. Visitors to the area should be aware that you cannot see any of the Georgian Bay coastline from the highway or roads. We highly recommend you get out on the water in a boat of some kind (there is water access near here for canoes, kayaks and other boats). We also recommend that visitors go to the French River Provincial Park to understand the unique history and culture of the area. That park is 35-40 min north from here and has a lovely small museum/interpretive centre and a footbridge over the French River. This secondary highway (ON 529) is fairly quiet and decent for cycling. It's very quiet north of the ON 529A turn-off! Cranberry Camp also has a small house, a guest lodge for retreats (we host healthy living and healthy building workshops), 2 lovely and private recreational vehicles (a 24’ Jayco and a 27’ Cougar) as well as a tiny home. All spaces are scent-free, low VOC and no WiFi. We help people create healthy homes and buildings. Hipcamp sites are accessed from hard-packed dirt/gravel driveway either perpendicular or parallel to the road. An outhouse contains a composting toilet (using the Humanure system), a solar light and jug of water for handwashing. We love to host people getting away from the city or taking exploratory road trips.

We have 4.4 acres of land on a spring fed lake. (Even though it is spring fed the water is warm for swimming.) We are located between Trout Creek and Port Loring on Hwy 522. We have 3 vintage trailers, each with a slightly different experience. Enjoy kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing. We also have a 4 person paddle boat. Bring water shoes if you have them. The water edge is in it's natural state. The trailers come fully equipped. You need only bring food, bedding and 1 pound propane tanks to use the small barbeque. Our property is off the electric grid. The trailers have fridges and stoves powered by propane and the lights are powered by battery recharged with solar panels. We do not at this time have running water and the toilets are clean outhouses - not stinky and disgusting. We have a couple of small docks and you can fish right from the dock. If you are a bird lover you will enjoy watching the blue heron and hearing the loons and frogs sing at night. This property often experiences spectacular sun sets. We have fire pits, books and board games.

There are two cabins now on the property, but one is brand new and private and not accessible- it will be vacant for your stay. There is also a private sauna, but is also not accessible. The cabin pictured is in the middle of a private 5-acre property across from Turtle Lake and spans turtle lake road, to Donnelly and Poke Road, so it’s easily defined by the roads around the land. There is no direct access to the lake, but there are many lakes and beaches within a short drive. There are also many quaint towns to visit, beautiful hiking trails to explore all nearby. The main floor has a pull-out double bed, and the loft has 2 sets of bunk beds, ideal for kids. The bathroom facility is a newly built very airy eco-outhouse - you will be pleasantly surprised! There is a sink to wash up, and an outdoor shower, but for now, only cold water is available. This an ideal family getaway or a romantic getaway, I look forward to hosting you!

Learn more about this land: Come and camp on beautiful Eagle Lake with approximately 120' frontage facing North. The campsites are only steps away from the water’s edge where you can enjoy stunning sunsets. Swimming, fishing and a playground are just across the road. The sites have a raised fire pit to cook your meals and a picnic table for enjoying them. We can provide firewood for $12 a bag, just ask!  These medium sites can accommodate two tents or a small camper with a total of four people. There is a shared outhouse, with flush toilets at the park across the road. Each site has water and electricity, and you can also find a WIFI signal nearby.  Eagle Lake Narrows Country Store is on the same three acre property. There you can rent boat, canoe, kayak, SUP and bicycles. Right across the road is a public beach, perfect for a relaxing day with family or friends. The public beach also is equipped with handy amenities like bathrooms, change rooms, fishing docks, and extra parking.  Eagle Lake is approximately 3 hours from Toronto, just over 4 hours from Ottawa, and less than an hour to Huntsville. It is very close to Algonquin Park.

Our remote off grid property in the forest east of Eagle Lake is a great place to disconnect and decompress. The roadside Bunkie sleeps 2 comfortably and can accommodate a RV trailer or tent as well. Pets are welcome.  The property has a pit toilet, and campfires are allowed in the designated pit. There is also potable water in the bin with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area. In the winter water would have to be stored inside. Linen not provided. You’ll wake up surrounded by trees and can explore the great hiking, nature viewing, atv trails and boating in the summer months. In the winter enjoy glaming in the propane heated bunkie, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snow machine trails at the door. Wildlife is all around.  Several lakes and parks are nearby, including Mikisew Provincial Park on Eagle Lake, about 20 km south, where you can go boating, paddling, or swimming and Algonquin Provincial Park is close as well with many lakes and hiking trails. Some restaurants and stores can be found in the South River, about 20 km away.

We had an amazing time at Creekside in site 2, the site is huge and feels so comfortable. Dan stopped by a couple times and brought his beautiful dog penny who is a sweet heart. Dan let us use his kayaks and gave us good tips on where to swim and fish, and we had great conversations. The beautiful views in and around the property already made us want to come back but how welcoming Dan and Penny are cemented that. It was my baby’s first camping trip and it felt very safe.

The site offered excellent privacy, beautiful quiet nature, and access to a lovely private beach. The water stays shallow for quite a long distance, which makes it perfect for children to play, and the clarity of the water was a real highlight. There is some seaweed, and those looking for deeper swimming will have to head out pretty far. The walk down to the beach is short but fairly steep, and the fire pit doesn’t provide a fully unobstructed view of the lake. The outhouse is tucked away with minimal signage, and the parking area is quite steep, requiring a bit of levelling for your camper — we ended up parking about 25 m up the hill from the actual campsite. The owner’s communication was excellent, which made the stay even smoother. Even with these small quirks, it was a wonderful site overall with great natural charm.

This is a small, very quiet site. The owners are lovely and so helpful, even parked our travel trailer for us. Sadly we had car trouble and had to leave early with a tow truck, but will definitely go back. The on site shower and toilet was immaculate and clean and there’s a fire pit and wood to use as well. It’s also close to Mikisew Provincial Park and Eagle lake for khaki b etc.

I absolutely loved camping on this property! The hosts (Cindy and Her husband) where incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The property was calm, peaceful, clean and a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Had a clean washroom and shower. It’s also conveniently located not far from some beautiful lakes. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back again!

This place is amazing! We will surely come back. Our dog enjoyed it so much, and the place was so peaceful, even the lake during the storm! We stayed at Site 4, and it couldn’t have been better. We had so much fun despite the weather, and the lake was safe to swim in. We enjoyed the kayaks too! My friends are already asking when we’re going back. 🛶 ♥️

We enjoyed site 4 on Haylee's property in our C Class RV. (No issues driving the RV to the site). We happened to be the only ones on the property the days we stayed... so a full property for ourselves. It was perfect. The firepit was expansive, water access lovely, night sky beautiful, and the use of kayaks & canoe a definite plus plus. We brought our dog as well and a draw for the property was that she could be off leash. (She appreciated that part). Looking forward to another stay sooner than later.

This site is absolutely beautiful! One of my favorite places I've visited. The private beach was amazing to watch the sunsets and perfect for swimming and taking out our inflatable boat. The site did have a bit of a decline but once we set up our air mattress the other way we had no issues. Unfortunately we didnt get to meet Lisa but we were on the water most of the time we stayed. The water was super close to the site which I loved! We got to see lots of wildlife such as deer, turkey, vultures, geese and even a bald eagle! The outhouse hadn't yet been updated and we noticed quite a bit of trash inside and a bees nest but after our stay it was updated. I will definitely be booking this site again, thank you so much for having us!

It would have a very nice camping experience if it did not rain for 2 whole days. The campsite is good sized and clean. We love the canvas tent as its spacious and clean. It helped a lot with the nonstop rain. We love that there are provided kayaks, fishing boat and canoe for guests use. The lake is calm but unluckily got any fishes. We are also 7 mins from Huntsville downtown so thats a big plus. The only thing would have wanted is if there are trails to explore as we love hiking. Overall, we had a good time and our dog who's off leash the whole is very happy.

The cabin was exactly as described in the listing and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It truly felt like a luxury glamping experience. The last 250 metres leading to the cabin is a bit bumpy, but it’s well worth it. The cabin is secluded, peaceful, and offers plenty of privacy, making it the perfect place to disconnect from city life and immerse yourself in nature. We had an amazing time and would definitely love to come back!
