Sheila has such a beautiful property. Being on the water was so relaxing. Nothing beats waking up in the morning and enjoying coffees on the dock with the sunrise. My husband and I had such a wonderful weekend. So peaceful ! Thank you Sheila for sharing your little peace of heaven.

Sheila’s place is a little slice of heaven. I wanted to camp alone but as a single female, I needed to feel safe and this was the place! You are right on the water with an abundance of paddling opportunities if you want. Beautiful dock to have morning coffee and a dip all to yourself. Quite private and peaceful. There are other cottages around but not right next to you like a campground and the nights were quiet. You are only awoken by the sounds of owls and loons not loud campers next to you. There is a cute clean outhouse and a fire pit. There is a walk up to where your car is parked but it didn’t bother me as the only time I had to go up and down was set up and tear down. Sheila is lovely and I highly recommend if you are looking for a beautiful spot to yourself on the water. Thank you Sheila!

My friend and I had a great holiday tent camping at Sheila's property for 4 nights! Everything was as described in the listing. Be prepared for a bit of a walk down the hill to the river from where you park. We didn't have any issues with anything :) Sheila is very friendly and kind.

We had a fun stay on Sheila’s property. Sheila was very welcoming and friendly. The platform in which we pitched our tent was a very unique experience with a great view of the river. The dock and view of the river/all the nature and other cottages is a serene view and experience. We brought an inflatable kayak and paddled down the river to the waterfall which was a fun adventure with beautiful views of all the properties and nature along the river. The water was refreshing, and great to swim in(with both deep and more shallow areas). Sheila was a great host and her property offers a relaxing camping environment.

Too many mosquito in summer and the toilet is kinda dirty also maybe bugs and mosquito inside.

Overall the site is really beautiful and Shelia is a kind gracious host, but the climb up and down the hill in This heat, for car camping was just too inconvenient for us, we were hoping to relax and and not exert too much effort. Had I known about the walk back to the parking spot I would not have booked this particular site. It better suited for a younger age group ;-)

Great site, very relaxing with a beautiful view of the river!
Parking is up the hill, and the campsite is down below—you have to carry all your stuff, which is tough, especially when it’s muddy.
Would be nice if that was mentioned in the description.

The camp spot is nice, but there were no recommendations about the mosquitoes in the area, they are annoying. For the price of the place I would recommend something better

Very nice place to skip from town and the view of the river worth the trip specially the host was very friendly and easy to talk and schedule with.

Very beautiful tent site right on the river's edge with a dock. Well arranged with a nice view of the river from the tent, plus kayaks to go see the river scenery! It was a clear night when we stayed and the night sky was amazing! The house is close by as well as neighbors but fairly hidden by trees from the tent platform and dock and Sheila was very respectful of our privacy.

My wife and I had a great stay at Sheila's Hipcamp, she has a beautiful property, great spot to set up camp! Sheila was a fantastic host, very helpful, offered us her kayaks to use. Cute little outhouse, nice fire pit. The Muskoka River is so nice, caught a few fish, sitting on the dock. We would most definitely stay here again in the future when we travel through here. Thank you Sheila for making our stay unforgettable!

I had a blast tent camping on Sheila's listing! It was private, peaceful, and well-maintained. Some noteworthy features of this listing were the clean outhouse with toilet paper + hand sanitizer, the fire pit, and the dock attached to the river. Sheila was also very responsive and very sweet. We will be returning!

I spent a truly lovely and restful day reading, swimming and camping by the river at Sheila's. (Aparently there are several nearby waterfalls to visit by kayak—which she provides—though i didn't make it that far.) It's a very special and well-cared for spot.

My partner and I loved our stay at Sheila’s ‘Simple Pleasures’. We camped on the raised deck by the river - the river and forest view as you wake up are stunning! Sheila was kind enough to lend us two of her canoes so we spent our first evening paddling upstream, stopping for a few dips on the way. We will definitely come back!

Huge thanks to Sheila for so kindly welcoming me to her riverside oasis! Amazing lush green property right on the river. It was great listening to the flowing water and the birds singing away. Very peaceful spot. Took a little float down the river, got a nice workout swimming back against the current! The camping platform is incredible, so easy to set up on, beautiful views, the ultimate camping spot! I definitely hope to return again soon. Sheila is an awesome host and an all around really cool lady! Great spot to tent, lush greenery everywhere, clean outhouse and a fire pit to boot! Everything you need! Thanks Sheila!

Beautiful little hideaway by the Muskoka River.
Sheila is a wonderful host and shares her yard and dock with her guests. She gives you lots of privacy even though you're camping in her back yard essentially. But don't be concerned about that, the yard is huge and slopped down to the river. So most of the time, you're completely hidden from her home. There's a tent pad that can accommodate a smaller tent and gives a perfect view of the river. Alternatively, you could set up on the lawn, still super private. We had our meals on the dock and it was perfect. Outhouse was definitely an outhouse but had fresh cut flowers, hand sanitizer and ample privacy so kind of the best kind of outhouse. Bring your canoe or kayak to maximize your stay.
When you compare this to staying at a provincial park, this was heaven. At a provincial park or KOA, your neighbour is super close and privacy is scarce. But here, Sheila's house is far away from where your tent is and far away from the dock. So it's honestly super private.
We really enjoyed our stay and will happily come back some time. Thanks for your hospitality Sheila.

Wonderful property & host. Lovely spot by the river with an incredible view of the stars and sounds of birds and frogs. Sheila is wonderfully kind and both gave us privacy along with a sense of community (and tips on what to see!)

We absolutely loved camping for the night right next to the river. Sheila was super nice and really accommodating. Her property is a tranquil place with loads of fauna and flora, we saw a beaver, a chipmunk, frogs, toads, and 2 herons. Would highly recommend!!
