First of all, id like to thank Brian and Jen for welcoming us on to their land. This was a fantasfic experience. Brain ended up meeting us and welcoming us to his area. He then took all of our stuff to site with his side by side.
This spot was beautiful, set up extremly well and maintained and very quiet. We had a canoe to use, and although the water is shallow and weedy, a canoe here was a great time. We paddled and explored various islands.
Night time the stars we great although the moon was too bright for them to truly shine, we were able to see saturn and its rings using our telescope.
On our 4th and final day, brian and i had agreed on a time and he met us, using his side by side once again to cart our stuff back. He even helped us scour the site to make sure we didnt leave anything behind.
Overall, it was an acceptional stay and the hospitality and kindness of Brian made it a trip to remember.

Exactly the peaceful getaway I needed. Surprisingly few mosquitos. I loved borrowing the canoe and watching the beavers work on their home, the heron fish and the deer come down for a drink. The singing frogs, owl and fireflies made for magical nights. So many water lilies! 😍 I will be back!

We spent 4 unforgettable days at Pine Solitude, and it truly lived up to its name. The site is a private, hike-in spot surrounded by water & trees, offering lots of shade & privacy. It comes with a picnic table, fire pit, thunderbox, and even a canoe — perfect for a quiet getaway. Our group of 6 and my dog Cashew had plenty of space for 3 tents, 2 hammocks, and a big tarp that kept us dry during a heavy rain on the last night.
Highlights of the trip included stargazing in the dark zone (some of the best night skies we've ever seen), daily campfires, cooking meals together, and mellow canoe rides around the lake, which my dog Cashew especially loved! We played guitar, board games, and tried our luck fishing (no bites, but still fun). The weather was mostly hot & humid during the day but cooled off nicely at night. Even the big rainfall couldn’t dampen our spirits thanks to our tarp setup. We didn’t hear/see anyone else all weekend thanks to the site's privacy and serenity. That said, be prepared for lots of mosquitoes, deerflies & horseflies — nature’s price of admission. Next time we’ll be bringing a bug zapper racket!
Huge thanks to our host Brian, who was incredibly helpful and friendly. He transported our gear in and out with his ATV and made sure we had water and firewood when needed.
We highly recommend Pine Solitude to anyone looking for a peaceful, off-grid experience. It’s a perfect spot to unwind, reconnect w/ friends, & soak in the beauty of Ontario’s wilderness.

We absolutely loved tent camping on Jen’s land! Jen wasn’t present at the time, so her father, Brian, was there to meet us and transport us and our supplies into our site. It is clear that he treasures their property and puts a lot of love into the amenities and the experience for all campers. We loved seeing the stars at night, it was absolutely beautiful. Got out on the lake in the canoe and had a blast seeing all the frogs and other wildlife including a heron and a few turkey vultures flying overhead!
We will definitely be returning, it was a very memorable trip. Thank you so much, Brian and Jen!

We loved the trek in and how kind and accommodating Brian (Jen's dad) was, during our stay. We arrived with our 11-year-old pug, and 1-year-old son, for an extra-long weekend escape. The site was big, private and beautiful. It boasted a widescreen view of the marsh, with surround sound melodies from neighbouring frogs, owls and beavers. The rentable dining table was a godsend after a downpour, and the starlight was spectacular every night.

Big Sky
The weekend we stayed at Big Sky was very very hot. There was little breeze and shade so in the daytime it was unbearable at times. We spent most of our days swimming in local beaches. Despite the blue looking water in the photos, the lake/pond is unswimmable. It is essentially a swamp. So that was a bit disappointing.
Since it was really really hot, the bugs came back out. They weren’t too bad near the campsite, but walking to and from the cars was a bit rough at times.
Overall we did enjoy our stay, and both hosts were very easy to deal with. I think this spot would be amazing in the fall

Brian was amazing. We needed help and he was there. He went out of his way to ensure we were well taken care of. I’d go back in a heartbeat. It was a beautiful property with fabulous land owners.

Beautiful site. So private! We really enjoyed our time at Pine Solitude. It's a breezy and shady site which is just what we love, just perfect for a hot muggy long weekend. Jen's dad was such a great host. We will definitely be back 💜

If you are looking for a backcountry experience this is the place . The site is Large and well equip for perfect camping and fire. The view is just amazing as much during the day (lake view) as during the night (stars) . The 800 m trail makes you feel very isolated in the wood and you truly feel the nature connecting to you. We had an amazing stay . The host is amazing too , they help you to bring your stuff to the site if needed and they are very kind . Thanks to Jen and Jen’s father for the bushwood experience !!!

Truly excellent. Almost as convenient as car camping, with the peaceful solitude of backcountry. The site was large and clean, had a great cross-breeze, and was well furnished with a variety of benches and handy tables. The composting outhouse was pleasantly odour-free. The pickup/dropoff by ATV was such a nice touch.
We had such a great time listening to the raucous chorus of toads and frogs at night, while the fireflies danced over the lake.
We had initially planned to leave our food in the car overnight, but ended up hanging it from a tree instead. It was easy to find a good branch to hang from, and we had no problem with unwanted animals.

What a wonderful stay at Pine View. We got really lucky with the weather, there was a wonderful breeze that kept up cool. At night we could hear a symphony of toads. We still had cell reception, but could truly disconnect from our busy lives and reset.
Jen’s dad was kind enough to buggy us into the site, we loved hearing about the land. We went out of the water for a canoe ride and saw a beaver working on his dam, cool sight to see!
We were only two people but the site could have easily fit 8 more. The other campsites are far enough away that you truly feel the camping experience. Hoping to come back in the fall when the leaves are changing. Thanks again! :)

This is my second time staying at one of Jen’s properties. Both times have been amazing! The hosts are incredibly friendly, helpful and have great communication. The site was beautiful and very private. The lake is very peaceful and we saw tons of wildlife. The lake is too small for fishing but there is a great fishing spot down the road, about a 15 minute drive.
The only thing to note is that the walk through the forest is incredibly buggy. We forgot our bug spray, don’t make the same mistake as us! Long pants and sleeves would also be advisable. But once you reach the campsite, especially once you have a fire going, the bugs weren’t bad at all!

I've visited both sites. If you're going for the stars, big sky is where you want to go. However, for livability and larger groups, Pine Solitude is the site you want.
Both sites are fantastic in their own rights and the skies are visible from both. Big sky is the big screen while Pine Solitude is your "little" 65inch. You can honestly view the skies from both sites just fine.
However... if you want to view the sky... just take the canoe and paddle out on the water for a panoramic view. The host provides this at zero extra cost.
Pine Solitude is likely my favourite overall.
Nice little touch during my last visit was this little reclined bench that they made. It lets you sit back comfortably and view the sky without craning your neck.
This is likely one of my favourite camping spots. I went alone but if you're looking for a good place to take someone special... romance your little heart away.

Meadow Bluff
I had an amazing stay at Meadow Bluff! Great communication leading up to and during my booking. Jenn's dad Brian shuttled me in on the ATV, and shared about the work that has went into the property. The site is big and beautiful, surrounded by forest and fields. The bluff feels very secluded and private, yet a short 10min walk back to the car. My dog and I loved our time here, and I plan to return to check out the other sites next year!

Loved staying the night here at bushwood. Very calm and serene. We saw so much wild life.
A thing to keep in mind; the trail in to the site is a good 10-15 minute beautiful hike through a hilly forest.
Brian, Jens dad, was a great guide.

We had a great time at big sky! Rained on us a couple times but Brian was great with tips and tricks of where to stay dry as well as helpful with directions to local lakes and spots. The site itself had a clear view of the sky and is a lovely spot to canoe with tons of wildlife to keep you company. Definitely recommend!

We had an absolutely lovely time! Communication with hosts was immediate & greatly appreciated.
We were met by Brian(Jen's Dad) who helped us load our gear on his side X side, then we leashed our dogs & followed him to our site. Brian was very courteous to stop periodically until we caught up, then share info re: the trees, glacial history, land, etc - he's very knowledgeable.
At site, Brian showed us around incl the cute outhouse a short distance/private from site (come to find out-no need to bring a magazine-the view was truly lovely ;) LOL!
Notes:
- The wi-fi was patchy...turned out to be a very good thing! It was nice to just un-plug & be peaceful together. With internet, I don't think our time would have been as meaningful & fun.
- (As dog owners) how nice it was to just let them roam a bit & explore! Not too far, not out of site, just enough to let them enjoy being dogs...it was so nice & they LOVED IT.
- Not until we actually left our site for a walk did we see anyone else (a young couple who politely complimented our dogs & continued on their way)
- The peacefulness was blissful and the night sky was amazing... no words to express!
It was an awesome stay.
Maybe 1 suggestion to other campers-bring a grate of some sort for firepit if you plan to cook over your fire. We thankfully remembered ours, but would have been a bit hard pressed to cook what we brought, had we not brought one.
We'll be back to explore other sites for sure!

A great lakeside spot nestled away in the wilderness of Ontario. The trek in/out with supplies was made easy with the help of Jen’s dad and access to a canoe on site was a huge plus! Beaver and deer are known to frequent the surrounding space and we were lucky enough to see a few. Would definitely make a return trip!
