Welcome to Goats and Gardens, our small working hobbyfarm where goats graze in the pasture, chickens wander through the grass, gardens grow with the seasons, and there's always something going on. Stay your way — camp inside our one-acre animal pasture or choose our private farmstay suite for four walls and a comfortable bed. Your stay is group-exclusive. We host only one booking group at a time. Book the campsite or suite and the other won't be rented to another party. Groups are welcome to book both. We think some of the best moments happen when there's simply room for them to happen. A new discovery. Hunting for frogs by the pond. Watching the goats wander past. A conversation by the campfire. Or just spending time together somewhere a little different. We make space for you to make memories ... The pasture campsite includes access to a hot outdoor shower, clean composting toilet and complimentary firewood. The farmstay suite offers space to sleep, relax and prepare simple meals, plus a private indoor washroom and access to the same outdoor shower. However you stay, the off-grid cabin in the pasture is available to enjoy — escape the bugs, spend a rainy afternoon or simply watch the animals wander by. This is a real hobbyfarm, not a resort. The animals, gardens and seasons set their own rhythm, so no two visits are quite the same. Explore, ask questions, spend time with the animals or simply enjoy the farm your own way. Goats and Gardens especially suits families introducing children to farm life and camping, couples looking for something different, and people who enjoy slowing down. Some guests come for their first adventure. Others return to see what's growing, what's changed and what the animals are up to this time. Come make our little corner of the countryside your own for a while. The camp site is located within a 1 acre farmyard which is completely fenced in. The farmyard is home to Nubian goats, many chickens and a very large vegetable garden. The site includes a metal fire pit ring and access to a well fed water hose. The compost style outhouse is located a short distance away, behind the cabin on the hill. The outdoor shower is located just outside the enclosure (near the main house). This is a working homestead and the hosts will be visible tending to the animals and gardens during the day. Please expect noise during your stay as we do have farm animals, local traffic, construction, neighbours, freight trains and steam traction engine whistles.

This space was created for guests who want to experience Goats and Gardens Farmstay without having to sleep in a tent. It is also ideal for families and friends travelling together who want to share the experience while choosing different levels of comfort. Grandparents with grandchildren? Grandparents get the farmstay suite while the younger adults and kids sleep in the tent. Perfect. Two couples or friends? One couple can camp while the other enjoys an indoor space. Everyone gets to experience the farm together without anyone having to sacrifice their comfort. YOUR PRIVATE INDOOR SPACE You'll have access to a private living area connected to our family home, including a bedroom/work area, half-bath and small private foyer. Patio doors open directly onto your private-use back deck. Your room includes: Wi-Fi via satellite Mini fridge & microwave Drip coffee maker Electric fireplace space-heater There is no TV — but there are board games, books and plenty of outdoor space to explore. THE OUTDOOR SPACE You'll also have access to: Covered front porch Large wooden back deck Pond — great for frog catching! Swing set Fire pit Outdoor shower Outdoor kitchenette with butane burner Charcoal BBQ Daytime use of our Off-Grid Cabin overlooking the farmyard A WORKING HOMESTEAD Goats and Gardens is a working homestead, not a resort. You'll see us tending to the animals and gardens during the day. Please expect some noise during your stay. We have farm animals, local traffic, neighbours, construction, freight trains and the occasional steam traction engine whistle. It's part of the experience of staying on a real working homestead — and if you're looking for a place to slow down, get outside and make some memories together, we think you'll fit right in.

We stayed at Goats and Gardens with our 2.5 year old and had the most amazing time. Greg and Barb were gracious, kind and generous hosts (our daughter LOVED learning to pick peas from the garden - thank you!) and the site is impeccably kept. The goats are so sweet, we loved seeing them walk by our tent as they grazed on the pasture. Don’t miss their amazing garden tour! This place is so special and not to be missed. Also: Cleanest outhouse I’ve ever seen in all my life!

We had a wonderful stay at this private camping property. The land offered a warm, peaceful, and intimate experience, making it feel like a true escape. The host Greg was incredibly thoughtful and attentive, filling in the gaps and doing everything possible to ensure we felt comfortable and cared for throughout our stay. He also handed us some beans from his farm. It was a pleasant and relaxing experience, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality by Greg.

Perfect little getaway! We had such a wonderful experience, the property was well taken care of and Greg was a great host. We recommended it to our friends and family, as soon as we got back!! It had everything you needed, the garden was beautiful, the animals were friendly and we loved the recommendation from Greg, of taking a walk around Valens lake nearby, ( it was the perfect day). Thank you for your hospitality and this felt like a little hidden gem close to home.

In all the years that I’ve been camping, I have never had a more pleasant stay. Greg and his wife were welcoming, generous, and so kind. They made sure that my daughters and I felt like we could relax, take a load off, and enjoy their beautiful property. The goats and chickens were delightful and the shared garden greens made an excellent addition to our meals. I was particularly impressed with the outdoor shower (propane heated) and well maintained outhouse (compost that was emptied daily so no smell). The location is perfect for visiting the African Lion Safari Park just 15 minutes away and day trips to Toronto. The girls have already made it clear that they want to visit again and I wholeheartedly agree.

The camp site was well taken care of, private, and the outhouse was the nicest outhouse I've seen. Greg was so nice, I enjoyed the tour and he was available to answer questions. The animals being close was the icing on the cake. Would definitely camp here again!

We had a great stay at Goats and Gardens. Greg was very welcoming and friendly when we arrived. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. We especially enjoyed spending time with the goats and chickens. Everything was well cared for, and the outhouse was exceptionally clean and well maintained. It was a relaxing camping experience, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in nature.

From the moment I arrived, Greg’s hospitality made me feel right at home. He went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed and was incredibly generous with sharing the farm, its stories, and the beautiful property. One of the highlights was spending time with the goats. They are full of personality and brought so much joy to the experience. I also loved visiting the chickens and exploring the veggie garden. Walking through the property felt like stepping into a slower, more intentional way of life—something many of us rarely get to experience anymore. The farm offers the perfect balance of peaceful countryside, charming animals, and warm hospitality. Whether you’re looking to disconnect from the stress of everyday life, enjoy nature, or simply wake up to the sounds of a working farm, this place delivers. The campsite itself was spacious and private. The bathroom facilities were so clean too! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience as female camping solo this time (my first time ever). I plan on bringing my kids next time!! I left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already planning my next visit. Thank you, Greg, for creating such a special place and for sharing it with your guests. I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and memorable farm stay experience.

This is one of the best campsites we’ve stayed at. Greg is super friendly, the site is very accessible for a trailer camper, and the animals are very friendly. Not to mention it’s the best outhouse over experienced. 10/10 this will be our new place.

Awesome campsite with a great atmosphere! One of the best parts was the noodle-making class with Greg. He taught us how to make noodles from scratch and made the whole experience fun and easy. Highly recommend the campsite and definitely recommend Greg’s noodle class!

My wife and I wanted to introduce our 5 month old to camping, and this was the perfect experience. Our host was incredibly accommodating and has created a comfortable and welcoming environment. I would highly recommend this location to anyone, whether you just want a quiet night away or you have never camped before.

The campsite was awesome and Greg was a great host. He went out of his way to accommodate us! The shower was hot and the goats were adorable… what more could one ask for. If you are planning on staying here I would suggest bringing so much bug spray. We used almost a full bottle and still came out with a million bites. Also there is a train that goes every couple hours at night that’s pretty loud. But of course neither of those are the hosts fault… just things to be aware of! Overall would absolutely recommend this campsite!

We had a very relaxing time staying on Greg's small farm! We choose to sleep just outside the animal pen but could have slept inside with the goats and chickens if we wanted. The goats and chickens were very friendly and highly entertaining. Greg and his family were excellent hosts; very kind and excited to share the property. I highly recommend the spatula carving activity which we had a great time doing! There is a super cute cabin (no bed) and the outhouse was clean and comfy. The fresh eggs were an excellent addition to our breakfast!

We had such a great time camping on Greg’s land! It’s the perfect spot for beginners—close enough to the city to feel accessible, but still peaceful and outdoorsy. Greg was incredibly helpful and kind. We forgot our bug spray, and he generously let us borrow his, which honestly saved us that night. The goats were a fun surprise too—super friendly and added to the whole experience. Would definitely recommend this spot for a first-time or relaxed camping trip.

Come to visit Greg! He is a wonderful host! Great & fast communication, huge flexibility, warm welcoming, always available for any kind of help or advice. He really makes sure you feel at your best! And all this happens while spending another night under the stars (the best so far this 2025 season!) in a very well maintained & completely equipped property that makes the outdoor experience unforgettable: fresh vegetable garden, goats & hens, a luxurious cabin, the warm shower, an eco-toilet, free wood… it was perfect spot for our weekend bikepacking adventure. And as an experienced HipCamper I can confirm Greg’s “Goats and Gardens” was with no doubt the best value-for-money place ever!

Tent camping in the pasture, with the misty sunset in the morning, rooster, wake up was fabulous. The outdoor shower is brilliant. And the vegetable garden amazing. The goats, of course, are absolutely adorable. I wish they would have slept in my tent with me.
