This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

I live in the main house with my two cats, and while I’ll give you complete privacy, I’m always available to answer questions or share local recommendations.

Weekend Trip to Boho Bungalow in Port Dover
Our stay at Beth’s Boho Bungalow in Port Dover was an absolute blessing and a gift. It was magical beyond words, and it was exactly the peaceful, healing escape that my wife needed.
The property itself is a perfect paradise. We spent our time relaxing in the amazing hot tub, sitting by the cozy fire pit, and walking down to her beautiful, serene ravine. At night, the sky opened up to the most incredible view of the stars. Sitting outside, listening to the wind blowing through the trees and all the beautiful noises of nature, was deeply therapeutic. On top of the beautiful privacy, the location is perfect—it is a scenic, easy walk straight to the Port Dover pier, the beach, and all the local amenities.
I am a firm believer that angels walk this earth, and Beth is wholeheartedly one of them. She is genuinely one of the kindest, most gentle human beings we have ever dealt with. To make things even better, Beth's neighbor, Kat, and her husband were also just amazing, beautiful human beings. It was truly an absolute pleasure to meet them as well.
Even though we are local to the area, this felt like a completely different world. We had such a wonderful experience that we will definitely be going back. If you are looking for a deeply romantic and relaxing getaway hosted by extraordinary souls, please book this beautiful spot!

The pull through weekend site was right on the water. Monica was so helpful and checked in with us every step of the way before, during and after our stay. The park and the washrooms were very clean. The dog park and dog swim area was perfect and the dog library was a special touch! I would recommend this park. 10 out of 10!!

We loved our stay at Tiny Village. It was the perfect location, our host was responsive and gave lots of info prior to arrival.
The trails, dog park and dog beach, were all added bonuses to our stay, with our Golden Retriever. Who loves to run and swim
The showers and bathroom were well maintained and lots of hot water!

Weekend Trip to Goats and Gardens
I absolutely loved my stay at Goats and Gardens. Greg and Barb were both incredibly welcoming, responsive and accommodating, and made me feel right at home.
My little room was cozy and quaint, with a mini fridge and microwave, and I especially loved having my own private deck overlooking the pasture. Finding fresh cherry tomatoes waiting for me in my room when I arrived was such a lovely touch.
There are so many wonderful little spaces around the property. The cabin is incredibly cozy and a great place to curl up with a book or just hang out. There’s a bench by the pond, an outdoor shower, and a lovely little outdoor kitchen where you can prepare your meals.
The farm itself was a big part of what made my stay so special. Greg showed me around the farm, gardens and animals. I got to hold a chick and pet the goats, and I loved the little updates about what was happening around the farm, including the chicks being born. I’ll have to go back just to learn more about their water system, which looked fascinating!
Greg was very thoughtful about letting me know beforehand that this isn’t a secluded retreat—it’s a working property and a place where people live their everyday lives. You may hear family and friends, people working or doing chores, animals, neighbours, cars and trains. I really appreciated knowing that beforehand.
What I discovered, though, is that it doesn’t have to be one or the other. The sounds of everyday life and the peacefulness of the country can coexist. In fact, the sounds of family, friends and people working around the property made me smile—happy sounds of people being together and simply living their lives. I could hear life happening around me and still sit on my private deck overlooking the pasture and feel peaceful, safe and grounded.
For me, that was part of what made Goats and Gardens so special. It really was the best of both worlds—connected to the life happening around me while still surrounded by the beauty, warmth and grounding experience of the country.
I happened to arrive during a particularly difficult time in my life, and this little corner of the world turned out to be a very special place to be. It’s a wonderful place to take a break from life for a little while, and I will definitely be back. I’m already planning to talk to my grandchildren about coming back to camp here together next year.

Our puppers had an absolute blast and are completely pooped now! Joan is an amazing host and keeps the property well maintained! Close to a few waterfalls and parks to explore. I really enjoyed my time. The site itself was a decent size, pretty quite and overall the grounds looked well maintained. The view was really nice aswell. The campground also had a few items there for your convenience at an extra cost like firewood, dumpster access to discard trash and hot water if you wanted to shower. I would book again.

Weekend Trip to Nuevo Malacatos
Tara is a very considerate host and made every effort to make me feel welcome and supported with tea and coffee, fresh veg and access to washroom and shower too. She gave me good tips on a nearby swimming hole, set me up with Internet and introduced me to the chickens and goats. The view over the hill is lovely and watching the chickens roam around the boats and classic car was delightful. I found the loft too hot but, then I learned I could sleep on the sofa bed instead which was easy and comfortable. The sound of the highway is close by and more noticeable at night. I made sure to load up on their fantastic eggs before leaving.

Second time visiting. Pedro is a great host. This place is very close to Port Elgin. His cabin was tidy. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub. We also met some odd hours animals which are so cute.

We had such a wonderful stay! My husband, niece, our two dogs, and I had an amazing time at this campground. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome. The campground itself was beautiful, and the washrooms and showers were exceptionally clean and well maintained.
All of the staff were absolutely wonderful, including the owner, Kim, who was so friendly and welcoming. You can really tell that a lot of care goes into making this campground a great place to stay.
I’ve stayed at a lot of campgrounds over the years, and this one truly stands out as one of the best. It’s an easy drive to get to, but once you’re there, you genuinely feel like you’re having a true camping experience.
We would 100% recommend this campground to anyone looking for a great place to camp, and we’re already hoping to come back again! 🏕️🐾❤️
