This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

We share our backyard with our guests, we are very close to everything that Bruce county has to offer, port Elgin, Southampton, golf courses, different accesses to saugeen river where u can go fishing canoeing, tubing etc., supermarkets, native reserve, sauble beach and dozens of other ones…all at max 15 minutes distance… in the property you will find everything u need for a peaceful stay, hard to describe everything you will find but u can read our reviews, some of them have beautiful descriptions of what is here for you, you must love animals, since we have our pets all around, u are also super welcome to bring yours. One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. For the canine: please bring your bedding, there’s a few pillows and bed covers but bring your personal bedding, queen size…Looking forward to meet you.

We had an amazing stay at Chickadee Rest. Deanne and Wayne were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived and made us feel right at home. The campground itself was beautiful, very clean, and had a nice private atmosphere, which made it easy to relax and enjoy our trip.
One of the best parts was the location. It’s only about a 2-minute walk to the beach, which was perfect. Everything was well maintained, and you can tell they really care about their guests and the property.
We had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Deanne and Wayne, for your hospitality!

My wife and I plus our two small dogs had a great time at the tiny home. Wether it was just staying in and enjoying a good barbecue surrounded by nature or taking a quick trip to one of the many parks and places close to us. The tiny home itself has it all to make you feel at the comfort of your home and when you step out is all surrounded by nature.

Beautiful place with about 2h drive from Toronto. We come with a dog, and my puppy loves this place too! Had a lot of first time experience here, kayaking, boating, bonfire…the bunky is cozy and just the right size for two. Joan is super friendly and helpful as…well we made quite some trouble. Joan is a great host, we had an incredible experience, for incase you forget anything she’s gots just about everything you could need, bags of wood, phone charger station, shower set up outdoors, portable potty, carts to move all your items to your site, an outlet, picnics table, canoes, paddle boards, the list goes on, for new campers of inexperienced campers this is the perfect spot to get the hang of things, and for experienced campers wants to spend time in the trees this is great as well. Weekend Trip to Time at the Shores
We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. The site felt private and peaceful, with beautiful views over the surrounding fields and some incredible sunsets. The bunkie was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Having a fridge, climate control, and access to the hot tub made the stay especially enjoyable.
Pedro was a friendly and responsive host. When we asked about the hot tub temperature, he adjusted it for us quickly. Firewood was provided, which made relaxing around the campfire easy.
The location was close enough to Port Elgin for coffee, breakfast, and exploring local shops, while still feeling like a quiet escape from everyday life. It was windy when we arrived, but once things settled down, we enjoyed a campfire, stargazing, and a long soak in the hot tub.
Overall, a great spot for a relaxing weekend away.
