Forested rolling hills on the edge of the oak ridges Moraine. This property belonged to William and Paula Lishman the famous Canadian artists and inspiration for the Hollywood film Fly Away Home.. The property is mostly coniferous forest with many trails perfect for mountain biking or ebiking adventures. Dotted throughout he property are many and sculptures to discover. There is a cold plunge hole and 5 unique rental spaces, as well as several tent camping sites. We occasionally host festivals in the summer and fall.

Deluxe Tree House

Surrounded by nature, this 2-room cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway. Cantilevered over the valley in a beautiful forest, the large windows and screened-in porch put you in the crown of the trees. The house was owned by iconic Canadian "Father Goose" Bill Lishman, the inspiration for "Fly Away Home".

The tree house cabin is isolated on a ridge with no visible neighbours. Most of the year, vehicles can drive right to the treehouse, followed by a short 50-meter walk up a hill. In the winter, you will need to hike back through the woods, and we can deliver your bags by snowmobile. The treehouse consists of a main living/sleeping room (with a small washroom) and a large screened-in porch overlooking the valley. Power is supplied by a solar panel and a wind turbine, enough for lighting and to charge devices. Located on the Oak Ridges Moraine, the location is perfect to escape from the city. For those who wish to hike, snowshoe, or mountain bike, there are many trails through the surrounding forests. A small woodstove (firewood supplied) provides warmth and a place to heat the kettle.
A park-style barbecue is supplied (wood available) and a picnic table/bench for outdoor meals.* It is very important to note that you will be responsible for feeding the wood stove. Wood is provided. Fire will be lit before you arrive, but you must keep adding wood.

Other things to note
The climb to the treehouse is short, but quite steep. Appropriate footwear is recommended...this climb is definitely not for everyone.
Summer is a drive done by the guest, but during the winter months u are greeted by a host who will take your belongings into the unit and have the fire started, but it is the responsibility of the guest to walk into the unit. Be prepared with appropriate winter clothing, flashlight, etc.

The space We are an hour East and North of Toronto. The Yurt is about 1 Km from the entrance. In the summer, you can drive right to the yurt. In the winter, you will hike about 1 Km. A snowmobile with a sled will deliver your gear. Jannine will be your contact, and you can reach her during your stay by phone or text. The property features many sculptures by the late Canadian artist Bill Lishman. The location is remote and private.
An outdoor screened-in area is available in summer for outdoor eating.
* It is very important to note that when we have the yurt open during winter, you will be responsible for feeding the wood stove. Wood is provided. Fire will be lit before you arrive, but you must keep adding wood.

This Retro GMC Motorhome has been completely refinished inside. It is surrounded by a large roofed deck with a screened-in eating area with barbecue and a fire pit. It is located on the Oak Ridges Moraine, an hour east of Toronto, on 100 acres of forested land, a perfect spot for a family glamping getaway. It was the motorhome used by William Lishman from the film "Fly Away Home" while Leading Cranes on Migration and features a large crane mural painted by his granddaughter.Filled with rolling hills and valleys, this 100-acre property features several kilometers of hiking and mountain biking trails. This unique property was featured in the film "Fly Away Home" and is the location where Bill Lishman raised and imprinted the geese on his ultralight aircraft that inspired the film. The motorhome interior has been completely refinished in wood, with a hardwood floor and features a 2-burner propane stove top, refrigerator and microwave, dining room table, and master bedroom with a small but functional bathroom. The dining area folds into a twin-sized bed, and the couch converts into two single bunk beds - suitable for children or small adults. Two swiveling captain's chairs provide a nice spot for morning coffee. A large screened-in porch with an eating area with BBQ(propane included) provides a nice space to relax in a natural setting with no bugs!
