A private piece of Prince Edward County! An adorable little retro styled bunkie on a private woodsy property that’s just a fifteen minute walk (or three minute drive) from a picturesque rock beach on Lake Ontario. Tucked in privately from the road out of site by a bunch of junipers and other trees located on the property. The bunkie offers a nice queen sized bed, a little area to the side with chairs and a table to relax if you need to get out of the sun/rain, and a very chill 70’s beach vibe. If the wind is just right, you will be able to hear the waves crash from the beach! The property has a perfect little hangout area where there is a nice big fire pit, patio table/chairs, as well as a portable bbq (you will just need to bring your own little Coleman propane cylinder with you.) If it’s a nice clear night, stare up to the sky and you may see the Milky Way above! There are a couple short loop trails that you can walk your dog on that loop from the bunkie/hangout area that will loop you back to either spot on the property. I just ask you to be respectful of cleaning up after your pets if you bring any. There are some pylons located in areas on the trails to indicate not to go past those any further due to it being not maintained past that those points. The land is located on probably one of the quietest roads in the County. You may see more off road vehicles if your on your way to the beach then you would cars. There is also a little outhouse located at the front of the property off to the side of the driveway. Twenty minutes from the town of Picton where you can find any amenity you require! A gorgeous town with tons of great restaurants, wineries, breweries, farm stands, artisans and shopping. Check out the rest of Prince Edward County by just adding a few more minutes to your trip in any direction to explore our other great towns around the community. So much to see and do here, lots of sightseeing, nature trails, conservation areas and don’t forget the world famous Sandbanks provincial park! (The largest sandbar beach in Canada). Perfect getaway for a couples glamping experience, solo glamping, peace, quiet, and relaxation. Or to just let loose and have a great time! There are no houses to either side of the property, so there’s no worry to be quiet 😉.

A tranquil sanctuary of peace and solitude to soothe the soul, Simcoe Island is a bird watcher paradise, so close to the city of Kingston yet a world where time has stopped. Accommodations are a 16’ x 20’ prospector wall tent, set up with queen size deluxe air mattress, bunk bed and single cots for extra guests. We have a food prep table, dishes, frying pan and cooking pot, a small microwave, single induction cooktop, small bar fridge and a kettle and coffee maker. You can eat your meals at the picnic table inside the tent or at the outside picnic table. There is a kerosene heater for cooler nights and a wood pellet stove which will heat the tent during the winter months. An outdoor dishwashing station is available with on demand hot water. We have a basic dug privy. There are bicycles available to use to explore the island and there are 3 kayaks and 2 canoes for paddling in the sheltered channel and the lake. Fishing generally is good. Ferry toll is $10 for a return trip and the ferry from downtown Kingston to Wolfe Island is free. Linens and sleeping bags are available if requested . FALL and WINTER CAMPING at Windpsalm: Kerosene and/or wood pellets costs will be discussed prior to or upon guests arrival during the fall and winter months. The pellet stove's fan tends to be a bit noisy but it does a good job of making the tent warm and comfortable. Fen stayed in the tent in February when the overnight temperatures were -25C and the inside temperature on the back wall was 18C. Fen's grandchildren are also regular winter campers at Windpsalm. We can also provide a few sets of snowshoes and if requested a popup ice fishing hut. In the event that the snow is too deep for your vehicle, we will transport our guests to the tent in our farm John Deere Gator.

For the last 26 years we have lived here on our 6 acres of property where our Maple Sugar Bush allows us to produce our very own maple syrup every spring. These trails are perfect for short nature walks, where you'll experience natural wildflowers and plants, see and hear song birds, small animal wildlife and of course, farm life too. The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river. Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area. All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals. There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!! PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices. ***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this. We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests. This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience. Historical Significance of the property When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place. It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

Stay in a Rustic Bunkie situated a distance from the road surrounded by trees and walking trails over 60 acres. The bunkie features a queen mattress, 4 windows and if desired, the mattress can be rolled up to accommodate a centre table for card playing. There is no hydro, indoor water or heat in the bunkie. If you need to charge your cell phone, consider having a portable solar phone charger or a portable power bank as there is NO hydro on the property. ** NOTE - be sure to enter the full address in your GPS for accurate directions. Outdoor amenities include: propane barbeque, firepit, countertop for food prep, cast iron frying pan and pot, plates, bowls, mugs, and flatware. A sink is on site for dishwashing and hygiene using non-potable water which we provide. A pit outhouse is available; sorry, no shower yet. Bring your own linens, pillows, sleeping bag and water for drinking. Since you'll be in a nature environment, bug spray is a good idea. Be mindful of identifying poison ivy too. Due to invasive insects, please do not bring firewood - we have firewood on site. The grounds are an excellent location for walking, photography, writing, drawing, painting, forest bathing, meditation or just to chillax. For those looking for local attractions: Westben Theatre, Launch your fishing boat or kayak at Trent River Monument (9 km from site), Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, Seymour Conservation Area (with a quarry for swimming), Dooher's Bakery, Empire Cheese, Church-Key Brewing, Fogorig Brewing and several food and restaurant establishments are available in Campbellford area. If you forgot to pack something, Giant Tiger, Dollarama, Stedman's, Sharpe's or No Frills may offer what you need. Only 13 km to Campbellford or 12 km to Havelock.

Fifthwind farm is located high on a hilltop in Northumberland county. Our farm is only 10 minutes north of Cobourg yet feels tranquil and remote. The view is spectacular…on a clear day New York State is visible. Our Bunkie is fully insulated and cozy on cold winter nights. The Northumberland Forest is quite close and it offers many cross-country ski trails. Because of the cold weather, our outdoor shower it’s not operable during the winter months. The Bunkie does not have running water, but water is provided, and the sink can still be used. There is a large bonfire area on our farm, (a little bit away from the Bunkie) also a play area for kids including zip line, boat structure, sand box, swing, above ground pool and trampoline; gorgeous circular organic garden with seating area and a small orchard. Although the cabin is insulated, and there is a small realistic looking electric heater...in the cooler months it only takes off the chill. You'll want to pack warmer clothing for the cooler nights. You'll find a lovely outdoor stone firepit with a grill to enjoy cozy campfires or to cook on. The site is provided with a picnic table/umbrella, rustic outdoor furniture, and a clean, simple outhouse, also a small outdoor kitchen and hand washing area. Propane stove and propane is provided. Inside the cabin there is a jug of water for your morning coffee. Coffee maker, mugs, plates, utensils are provided There are 4 single foam mattresses that make up a single bed, or three 4 double foldout foam mattresses to accommodate two. We are 5 minutes to the quaint town of Norwood, and minutes to Hastings Trent River's fishing adventures! We are close to all the needed amenities. Although there is some wood to use, we encourage our hipcamper to pick up 2 bags of dry wood as may be damp. Sit by the pond, sit by the creek, sit in the waterfall, sit out at Blueberry Hill for a pleasant breeze or up on SunStar Ridge for some nightly star gazing or lay back in a hammock or on zero gravity chairs 1 Bunkie on a hill overlooking the pond and 2 private tent sites, one at Boot Hill and one in the Field of Dreams. Each site has a fire pit and a compostable toilet and there is a compostable toilet in an outhouse on the property for the bunkie. Great for canoes, kayaks, bird and wildlife watching with spectacular star gazing. This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape. Some finds are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. The only source of heat is the wood stove so it needs to be tended to accordingly. A portable power pack is provided for phone and laptop charging, lights, projector, dvd player etc to provide you with the necessities but peacefully. A generator is available if required. Our property has 2 camping cabins located on 40 acres across the road from a beautiful waterfall. Each rental has its own private outhouse, picnic table, campfire pit and solar power. An outside shower room, flush toilet and common lounge with complimentary coffee and wifi is also available on site. There are marked walking trails on the property and at nearby conservation areas. Plenty to do on the grounds and within a 30 min drive, including sightseeing Prince Edward County, or checking out historic Kingston and Belleville. Wifi is available on the grounds at the lounge and gazebo, a short walk from the cabins. We have campfire wood available on site for $10/tote. Each tote contains paper, lighter, kindling and enough firewood to last hours into the night. Simply request at check in and we will deliver it to your cabin. The scenic waterfall across the road is part of the Salmon River watershed where you can take a refreshing dip seasonally. In the center of the property is a lovely sensory garden where you can sit and enjoy birds, butterflies and beautiful blossoms.

We had a fantastic stay at Fen's campsite! Fen was very friendly and welcoming. The tent was clean, spacious, and well equipped. We really enjoyed using the bikes and canoe to explore the peaceful island. It was a unique and relaxing getaway, and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet nature escape. If you're looking to get off the grid go and relax at Lisa's Stargazer cabin. It was so relaxing. The opportunity to see the stars so bright is exciting. Her horse Tango which is next to the cabin is a joy to watch. We didn't interact with the goats or chickens but we walked right by them on they way to our spot. If we're back in the area I know I'll try to book this spot again.

We had an amazing few days away to unplug and be one with nature. The property is full of lush green and through the trees is water. There are rapids to the right of you with trails moving through the forest. No cell service which is exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was in the perfect spot. Against the trees and the windows had the best breeze! The hosts are very attentive and aware of what is needed for a few days away. If you are looking to unwind, swim, enjoy Mother Nature this is the place to do it in. We have started a new tradition and will be back again. We had an amazing 2 night experience . Forest Time Retreat is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The hosts are amazing people. They have thought of everything that you could possibly need for your stay at the bunkie. A fully equipped outdoor kitchen with BBQs, wood burning stove, fire pit, wood shed full of wood, sink with jugs of non-potable water for washing, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery +++, an outdoor shower, clean "outhouse ", exterior solar lights and more. All in a quiet wooded area. Other sites are well spaced out and well set up. We are already planning to return.

The cabin is super cute. The Lake Ontario spot, which is super close to this cabin, is so beautiful. We spent most of our time on the gorgeous rocks that surround the lake. It is really a great glamping experience: no tent to put up and a soft bed to sleep in. Communication with Jay was great.

Loved this Bunkie, the area, and all the natural wonders to explore! My puppy and I spent the mornings and evenings by the beach swimming, then barbecuing and having fires at the bunkie! Jay provides a lot of comforts, a barbecue, wood, outhouse with toilet paper, blankets, the bunkie is warm in the day and cool at night.

Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Woods

A bunkie with all you need with a lovely view. Continuous sounds of nearby waterfall will provide relaxing vibes. Chairs were set up for our arrival on the deck. Perfect size for two adults. Nighttime fairy lights dance in the woods alongside ample fireflies. The river swimming hole was relaxing and refreshing. Loved our weekend getaway. We will definitely return.

My family and I had an amazing time. The place is straight out of a movie; gorgeous scenery and setting. We saw a beaver, turtles and we caught lots of fish right off the dock. We had a big fire and even when it was raining we were able to enjoy the fire from the little sun room. We enjoyed swimming and the fireflies we caught at night. We loved the off grid aspect but still had service if needed. We slept in later then normal and enjoyed coffee while the dog splashed in the water. We will be returning, it was worth a trip from Hamilton.

Very cool spot to camp! Lovely little island getaway. Tent is spacious and well equipped. Fen made sure we were setup with kayaks and bikes. You can't swim off the dock as there are too many weeds, but there's a small (rocky) beach a short bike down the end of School Rd that the kids really enjoyed swimming at. At Fen's recommendation we spent an afternoon at Big Sandy Bay Beach on Wolfe island and it was definitely worth the drive!

Weekend Trip to Juniper Beach Bunkie

We had a fantastic stay in Jay's bunkie! Jay was incredibly responsive, with excellent communication from start to finish. You can tell he has put a lot of thought into the little details that make a stay more comfortable. We brought our own rechargeable fan, but it was great to see one already provided. The LED candles created a cozy atmosphere, and the lantern was such a smart touch for nighttime trips to the outhouse. The large screened door was perfect for letting in the breeze while keeping the bugs out. We brought a small 5 lb propane tank and a kettle so we could make coffee in our French press each morning, and it was the perfect way to start the day. The property was so quiet and peaceful—it was exactly the relaxing getaway we were looking for. One tip for future guests: the mosquitoes are no joke! I'm from Northern Ontario and even I was impressed. Bring a Thermacell and you'll be much happier. We'd definitely stay here again!
