The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river. Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area. All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals. There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!! PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices. ***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this. We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests. This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience. Historical Significance of the property When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place. It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

The Cedars gazebo is nestled between 100 + acres of beautiful woodlands, meadows and a pristine private lake. Breathe in the fresh air, reconnect with nature and give your body and soul a well deserved break. Let the peeper frogs lull you to sleep and the distant call of the loons be your wake up call. Enjoy nature with many comforts of home plus canoes & kayak for exploring the lake This luxurious gazebo has a beautiful and comfy bed to rest your head on after a long day of exploring the lake. It also has a secondary day bed by LED candlelit fireplace. There is a stunning china cabinet decked out with Royal Doulton fine china to eat your meals on. This is glamping stepped up a notch or two! Okay maybe a dozen. This unit also has a credenza with a pump sink for all your washing needs as well as a storage bench with coolers. No need to pack heavy, we thought of everything! Just purchase some food and ice and you're all set. Just steps outside the gazebo you will find a propane BBQ with cooking stove and filled tanks. The ultra chic outhouse has towels, a foot pump sink and an outdoor shower area. Explore the lake by canoe or observe the beautiful nature all around. We have deer, wild turkeys, beavers and otters, muskrats and many more woodland creatures about. See the fireflies light up the forest in July or forage for fall mushrooms in our forests. It truly is a magical place! Although this is an off grid accommodation, each of our 3 units is equipped with a small silent power station, for guest who wish to charge their phones, laptops or small electrical devices. A few steps away from the Gazebo you will find a small dock with a canoe, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. The gazebo has a propane BBQ with burner, BBQ utensils, dishes, plates, bowls, glasses, coffee cups, wine glasses, cutlery, tea kettle, French press coffee maker, and pots etc. This unit also has an acoustic guitar for fun around the campfire as well as a professional grade manual massage chair, complete with essential oil. Even though we live on the 100 + acre property we are up the road about a kilometre away. We value and respect the privacy of our guests, so you will most likely not see us unless you require assistance from us. Want to pack light? Get all your BBQ needs in town just 10 minutes North of us. There are 2 coolers on site for you to keep all your goods fresh. Neighbourhood descriptionWe are in a quiet and rural setting, but also close to a few small towns. Hastings, Warkworth and Campbellford make up Trent Hills. Our closest town is Hastings ( 10 mins north ) and there you will find a grocery store for all your food needs, should you choose to not pack food. Hastings also has a LCBO. Warkworth is a quaint and artsy little town. On the short Main Street, you will find The Lucky Stars Cafe, Centre & Main Artisan Chocolate, a couple of gift shops and antiques. Campbellford is the bigger town and will have a lot more going on. If you choose to eat out there are some great choices in the area. In Hastings McGillecafey's is a pub style restaurant. Caper's in Campbellford is one of our go to places. Dorset will make you a delicious prime rib au jus, complete with roasted root vegetables. Campbellford is also home to Antonia's Bistro where Ravi makes the best butter chicken, with a side of papadums. In Warkworth there is Sper restaurant. Chef Doug Hope makes the best farm to table meals. Reservations are required. We also have the Villa Conti restaurant and vineyard 15 mins from us in Oak Heights. Tomasso and Bambi will make you feel right at home with their incredible wine assortment and authentic Italian cuisine. The Lakeside gazebo is set up with a beautiful and luxurious bed for you to rest your head on after a long day of exploring and enjoying the lake. There is a table inside for you to have your meals, or you may choose to eat outside near the fire pit or screened in deck area. There is a comfy couch and place to hang your jackets. There is a credenza pump sink for dishes. There are beautiful LED candles all around to set the mood and a lantern for reading and getting around at night. The screened in area has a long couch with lots of pillows and room to stretch out. It also has a cabinet that contains dishes and cutlery, cups, glasses, BBQ utensils, a kettle, a French press for coffee lovers, salt, pepper and sugar etc. Just steps outside the gazebo you will find a propane BBQ with cooking stove and filled tanks. The ultra chic outhouse has a foot pump sink, towels, soap and toilet paper. There is also a shower area attached to the outhouse with a shower mechanism for you to rinse off with. Lakeside Gazebo

This is an amazing place. Me and my 8 year old boy had an awesome father son camping and fishing trip. Sonia is a great host and the property is beautiful and quiet and secluded. The gazebos have pretty much everything you need. The bass fishing is about as good as I have had. Highly recommend.

The forest gazebo was beautiful! Sonia and family had everything we needed. They went above and beyond what I expected. The forest gazebo was private and even had its own private river access. It's the perfect getaway.

Anniversary Glamping

White Oaks Gazebo - By Private Lake

We stayed at the White Oaks Gazebo. The gazebo itself is stunning with an amazing indoor fireplace which kept us warm and cozy. We hiked the entire property and even the surrounding area taking in the beautiful nature all around us. We also canoed to the middle of the lake where there is a wooden platform. We sat there for hours basking in the sun . This was definitely a memorable anniversary thanks to the lodging and hospitality of Sonia and Paul. Thank you and see you again soon!

A Special Place

White Oaks Gazebo - By Private Lake

A fabulous family making for a fabulous stay. The oak forest is just so serene and surreal! Sonia and her family have done an amazing job brings you up a level instead of roughing it while actually camping. This place is setting the tone for a higher end glamping experience. Finishings we’re beautiful and all you have to bring is your food and bug spray! Thank you for making our anniversary special and sharing this place with us!

The perfect getaway destination

Forest Gazebo By Private Lake

My husband and I just spent 3 nights here for our honeymoon and it was simply perfect. The gazebo itself keeps you as close to nature as you can get (while still sleeping in a stunning bed). We enjoyed the isolation, walks on the trail, campfires, finding hidden creeks to sit at and hammocks in the woods for a rest. I cannot recommend this stunning destination enough!

The perfect weekend getaway!

White Oaks Gazebo - By Private Lake

Located on a beautiful property we stayed in a gorgeous gazebo surrounded by forest. It had everything we needed: cookware, glasses, blankets, towels, a bbq, etc. It is fully screened in so you can enjoy your meal and a wood burning fireplace without the bugs. We heard birds singing, saw a couple deer, and at night the fireflies lit up the forest. The bedroom is cozy with enough blankets and pillows. A quick 5 minute walk takes you to a private lake where there are canoes for you to use. We spent a whole day exploring the lake and had a picnic lunch on the dock in the middle of the lake. The host, Sonia and her family are very accommodating and friendly. If we needed anything they were just a phone call/text away. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet weekend getaway in a beautiful location.

Magical forest getaway

Forest Gazebo By Private Lake

This was such a cute getaway for my partner and I. We loved that we could get out of the city (short drive) and enjoy nature without ever needing to leave the property. We enjoyed walks to the brook, canoeing and swimming in the lake, and sitting by the campfire watching the fireflies. Not to mention the stargazing!! Just pack your bug spray! You’re still in the woods despite the ultra cute accommodations :) Sonia and her family were so welcoming and responsive.
