We are a small hobby farm set within a mature forest setting. There are two, newly built tiny home bunkies that are situated in private areas of our property, yet close enough to our main house for security, Each bunkie has a modern outhouse with composting toilets and non potable water for washing Guests will have the opportunity to commune with nature as we have a multitude of bird species and there is always good possibilities of wildlife viewing, as guests stroll down the nature trails. There are plenty of very cool areas along the trail where guests are able to participate in forest bathing/meditation or can just relax and listen to the wind rustling through the leaves of the trees. We have a couple of very gentle horses on our farm, that if anyone wishes, can schedule a time meet them and do some therapy grooming. There is also a small flock of egg laying hens that are quite social. We have a small on site store, which has some beautiful wood crafts that are created in our woodworking shop. Live-edge wood tables/charcuterie boards and other beautiful pieces as well as a large display of gorgeous healing crystals and metaphysical items are available for purchase if that's your interest. We are less than a 10 minute drive to Bobcaygeon, where you can find the world famous Kawartha Dairy, scrumptious restaurants, specialty clothing boutiques, grocery stores and pharmacies. Sturgeon Lake is the predominate lake with fabulous fishing/boating/ swimming. A 20 minute drive will get you to Fenelon Falls, Buckhorn or Kinmount where you will find the famous Kinmount Movie Theater that have the latest movies available. The Canadian Rail Trail is also nearby for anyone that wants to do some biking/hiking.

This MICRO cabin hide away becomes a perfect home base to unplug, relax, read, cook over a open fire or close enough to explore the area. Our cabin is perfect for the camper who enjoys, and is familiar with camping and the outdoors! We offer rustic, with a bit of extra glam to your camping experience! Although the cabin is insulated, and there is a small realistic looking electric heater...in the cooler months it only takes off the chill. You'll want to pack warmer clothing for the cooler nights. You'll find a lovely outdoor stone firepit with a grill to enjoy cozy campfires or to cook on. The site is provided with a picnic table/umbrella, rustic outdoor furniture, and a clean, simple outhouse, also a small outdoor kitchen and hand washing area. Propane stove and propane is provided. Inside the cabin there is a jug of water for your morning coffee. Coffee maker, mugs, plates, utensils are provided There are 4 single foam mattresses that make up a single bed, or three 4 double foldout foam mattresses to accommodate two. We are 5 minutes to the quaint town of Norwood, and minutes to Hastings Trent River's fishing adventures! We are close to all the needed amenities. We absolutely loved how peaceful it was at the Cabin. We sat in the sun and just listened to the birds and wind through the trees - such a large space it was great for the dog and for lawn games. The host provides everything you need and more - the VHS and classic movies came in clutch on a rainy day. Its deep enough in the wooded areas to enjoy this serene environment, and the town with walking trails, lazy river and everything else you need is just a short drive away. Yes! The stars are big and beautiful - perfect place to bring a telescope if you have one!

I had such a beautiful experience at the Taiga Animal Sanctuary. The whole place felt incredibly peaceful, and being surrounded by such friendly, well-cared-for animals made it even more special. We arrived much earlier than the check-in time of 3 PM, and Jenny was so kind and welcoming—she graciously allowed us to check in early, which we truly appreciated. Her warmth really set the tone for our visit. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and I left with such lovely memories. I would definitely recommend this sanctuary to friends and anyone looking for a calm, unique getaway.

Weekend Trip to Cabin In The Woods

My wife and I have been winter camping many times and this was our favorite cabin rental ever! It has been a great getaway and adventure for us and our dogs. We arrived with alot of snow and were planning to hike. Thanks to the hosts as they have snowshoes available at the cabin! We had a blast in the trails. The cabin's stove was perfect, kept it cozy and warm throughout the weekend. The well water with a hand pump was an added surprise and let me tell you how good that water is! We were both talking about it all weekend. Hosts were amazing, had fire going for when we arrived, took us to the cabin and after that it was just us. Perfect 10/10 for us as this is exactly how we like to camp. Will be back for sure.
