Stay in a Rustic Bunkie situated a distance from the road surrounded by trees and walking trails over 60 acres. The bunkie features a queen mattress, 4 windows and if desired, the mattress can be rolled up to accommodate a centre table for card playing. There is no hydro, indoor water or heat in the bunkie. If you need to charge your cell phone, consider having a portable solar phone charger or a portable power bank as there is NO hydro on the property. ** NOTE - be sure to enter the full address in your GPS for accurate directions. Outdoor amenities include: propane barbeque, firepit, countertop for food prep, cast iron frying pan and pot, plates, bowls, mugs, and flatware. A sink is on site for dishwashing and hygiene using non-potable water which we provide. A pit outhouse is available; sorry, no shower yet. Bring your own linens, pillows, sleeping bag and water for drinking. Since you'll be in a nature environment, bug spray is a good idea. Be mindful of identifying poison ivy too. Due to invasive insects, please do not bring firewood - we have firewood on site. The grounds are an excellent location for walking, photography, writing, drawing, painting, forest bathing, meditation or just to chillax. For those looking for local attractions: Westben Theatre, Launch your fishing boat or kayak at Trent River Monument (9 km from site), Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, Seymour Conservation Area (with a quarry for swimming), Dooher's Bakery, Empire Cheese, Church-Key Brewing, Fogorig Brewing and several food and restaurant establishments are available in Campbellford area. If you forgot to pack something, Giant Tiger, Dollarama, Stedman's, Sharpe's or No Frills may offer what you need. Only 13 km to Campbellford or 12 km to Havelock.

The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river. Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area. All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals. There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!! PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices. ***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this. We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests. This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience. Historical Significance of the property When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place. It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

This MICRO cabin hide away becomes a perfect home base to unplug, relax, read, cook over a open fire or close enough to explore the area. Our cabin is perfect for the camper who enjoys, and is familiar with camping and the outdoors! We offer rustic, with a bit of extra glam to your camping experience! Although the cabin is insulated, and there is a small realistic looking electric heater...in the cooler months it only takes off the chill. You'll want to pack warmer clothing for the cooler nights. You'll find a lovely outdoor stone firepit with a grill to enjoy cozy campfires or to cook on. The site is provided with a picnic table/umbrella, rustic outdoor furniture, and a clean, simple outhouse, also a small outdoor kitchen and hand washing area. Propane stove and propane is provided. Inside the cabin there is a jug of water for your morning coffee. Coffee maker, mugs, plates, utensils are provided There are 4 single foam mattresses that make up a single bed, or three 4 double foldout foam mattresses to accommodate two. We are 5 minutes to the quaint town of Norwood, and minutes to Hastings Trent River's fishing adventures! We are close to all the needed amenities. Although there is some wood to use, we encourage our hipcamper to pick up 2 bags of dry wood as may be damp. Sit by the pond, sit by the creek, sit in the waterfall, sit out at Blueberry Hill for a pleasant breeze or up on SunStar Ridge for some nightly star gazing or lay back in a hammock or on zero gravity chairs 1 Bunkie on a hill overlooking the pond and 2 private tent sites, one at Boot Hill and one in the Field of Dreams. Each site has a fire pit and a compostable toilet and there is a compostable toilet in an outhouse on the property for the bunkie. Great for canoes, kayaks, bird and wildlife watching with spectacular star gazing. This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape. Some finds are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. The Northumberland Forest is quite close and it offers many cross-country ski trails. Because of the cold weather, our outdoor shower it’s not operable during the winter months. A private piece of Prince Edward County! An adorable little retro styled bunkie on a private woodsy property that’s just a fifteen minute walk (or three minute drive) from a picturesque rock beach on Lake Ontario. Tucked in privately from the road out of site by a bunch of junipers and other trees located on the property. The bunkie offers a nice queen sized bed, a little area to the side with chairs and a table to relax if you need to get out of the sun/rain, and a very chill 70’s beach vibe. If the wind is just right, you will be able to hear the waves crash from the beach! The property has a perfect little hangout area where there is a nice big fire pit, patio table/chairs, as well as a portable bbq (you will just need to bring your own little Coleman propane cylinder with you.) If it’s a nice clear night, stare up to the sky and you may see the Milky Way above! There are a couple short loop trails that you can walk your dog on that loop from the bunkie/hangout area that will loop you back to either spot on the property. I just ask you to be respectful of cleaning up after your pets if you bring any. There are some pylons located in areas on the trails to indicate not to go past those any further due to it being not maintained past that those points. The land is located on probably one of the quietest roads in the County. You may see more off road vehicles if your on your way to the beach then you would cars. There is also a little outhouse located at the front of the property off to the side of the driveway. Twenty minutes from the town of Picton where you can find any amenity you require! A gorgeous town with tons of great restaurants, wineries, breweries, farm stands, artisans and shopping. Check out the rest of Prince Edward County by just adding a few more minutes to your trip in any direction to explore our other great towns around the community. So much to see and do here, lots of sightseeing, nature trails, conservation areas and don’t forget the world famous Sandbanks provincial park! (The largest sandbar beach in Canada). Perfect getaway for a couples glamping experience, solo glamping, peace, quiet, and relaxation. Or to just let loose and have a great time! We are a small hobby farm set within a mature forest setting. There are two, newly built tiny home bunkies that are situated in private areas of our property, yet close enough to our main house for security, Each bunkie has a modern outhouse with composting toilets and non potable water for washing Guests will have the opportunity to commune with nature as we have a multitude of bird species and there is always good possibilities of wildlife viewing, as guests stroll down the nature trails. There are plenty of very cool areas along the trail where guests are able to participate in forest bathing/meditation or can just relax and listen to the wind rustling through the leaves of the trees. We have a couple of very gentle horses on our farm, that if anyone wishes, can schedule a time meet them and do some therapy grooming. There is also a small flock of egg laying hens that are quite social. We have a small on site store, which has some beautiful wood crafts that are created in our woodworking shop. Live-edge wood tables/charcuterie boards and other beautiful pieces as well as a large display of gorgeous healing crystals and metaphysical items are available for purchase if that's your interest. We are less than a 10 minute drive to Bobcaygeon, where you can find the world famous Kawartha Dairy, scrumptious restaurants, specialty clothing boutiques, grocery stores and pharmacies. Sturgeon Lake is the predominate lake with fabulous fishing/boating/ swimming. A 20 minute drive will get you to Fenelon Falls, Buckhorn or Kinmount where you will find the famous Kinmount Movie Theater that have the latest movies available. The Canadian Rail Trail is also nearby for anyone that wants to do some biking/hiking.

Welcome to Backwoods Cabins in Northbrook Ontario. Located directly on the Skootamatta River with your own private back lake thats the perfect spot for canoeing and fishing. At night be prepared to see thousands of stars and hear the sound of nature. My father in law does live on the property with his very friendly dog, Buddy. He is a homebody so it is very unlikely you will see him but Buddy will definitely come and say hello.

1 night at Organic Flower Farm

What a fantastic experience, my girlfriend and I were looking for a cute camping retreat for a night. We stumbled across this cute site, the host Mike and Jenny were absolutely amazing. Such humble and thoughtful people, and their farm that they have is beautiful. We got to see the animals he has and how gentle he treats them. Mike took us for a little tour of his property and explained the area to us and the history of it all. The tent and setup he provided for us was incredible, something the both of us will never forget. Star gazing at night and having the beautiful light set up as we lit a fire was very romantic. The bother of us will be attending again forsure! We can’t say enough good things about the stay and the hospitality the hosts gave us. Truly a remarkable experience!

5 nights at Riverbend

Our third stay at this wonderful little cabin, and Mother Nature has given us a different experience every time! Last year brought a fire ban and a quiet riverbed, while New Year’s gave us all her winter charms—sun, snow, ice storms and even a blizzard. This time the river was running, and oh, the sound of it—during the day and as we fell asleep at night. We had cozy rainy days, beautiful sunny ones, and one new addition…the mosquitoes! They were very determined to become our best friends and join every outdoor activity. Thankfully, a good fire helped establish some much-needed boundaries! We celebrated our anniversary here, and once again it was the perfect place to step away from the pressures of everyday life, slow down, reconnect with each other and remember what really matters. Three visits, three completely different experiences, and wonderful memories from each. We’ll be back!

Weekend Trip to Island Spirits

Great place for multigenerational families to hang out together, kids occupied themselves with animals roaming the island, grandparents told stories over the firepit and we were able to find secret spots on the island to chill without the kids. Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Woods

Natalie's land is beautiful - from the nature, the access to water, the animal sightseeing... We loved the land upon arrival. Natalie is sweet, kind and truly has put so much effort into making this place feel like home, especially for our dog. We didn't want to leave! The Bunkie had everything we needed, thoughtfully decorated, and what a gorgeous view from the deck - we even had a private fire pit at back. The outhouse was clean and well maintained. We will for sure be coming back!

What a magical, back-to-nature escape! We had an incredible stay in the cozy bunkie, but spent some evenings sleeping out in the gazebo. The property is surrounded by gentle rapids, and so many dragonflies. Watching a blue heron along the water was such a special highlight. Best of all, our dog had an absolute blast running off-leash with so much room to explore and safely jump into the stream. If you’re looking to truly unwind and reconnect with nature, this spot is an absolute gem. Katrina and Graham are such awesome hosts - we will definitely be back

Judy’s space is so serene, quiet and private - perfect to relax and rejuvenate! The sauna and spring fed pond are a perfect way to spend the afternoon, and the yurt itself is absolutely stunning! Judy has thought of everything to make your stay stress free - wood, propane, dishes, and many solar powered lights! I can’t wait to visit again, it was incredible. The property is stunning.

Weekend Trip to Foresthill Retreat

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely weekend away with our 3 golden retrievers! Dales land has everything you need and more! The tent was very comfortable with room to set up beds for the pups too! The electricity (fan, lights, even a fridge!) and having a real bed was such a bonus as we both are used to “roughin’ it”. The outdoor kitchen was well stocked and had everything we were missing. The outdoor shower was so neat as well! We can’t wait to return in the future, and we highly recommend booking this site!

4 nights at Call of the Wild Off Grid Camp

We very much enjoyed our time at the cabin. It is very well laid out, and even though it is off the grid, so to speak, there is a generator (which is rather finicky and took us multiple attempts to start). The cabin is quite secluded and has no direct water access, but it is only 10 minutes away from Silent Lake, which is a beautiful Provincial park with a lovely beach. The outhouse is old school and rustic. The fire pit was one of our favourite spots. We brought our own wood, as the wood supplied was pricey. Overall it was a pleasant and relaxing experience. We recommend.

This was our second stay at Gray Otter Cabins, and we had such an amazing time again! We absolutely love this place. The dogs had the BEST time swimming and could have stayed in the water forever! We love the town, the beautiful surroundings, and especially the complete seclusion and privacy. It’s the perfect place to get away from everything, relax, and enjoy some quality time together. We already can’t wait to come back for our third stay when we’re able to! 🥰 We seriously can’t recommend Gray Otter Cabins enough!

Our stay at this cabin was absolutely incredible and everything we could have hoped for. From the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect little escape from everyday life. Tucked away in the woods, the cabin was peaceful, private, and unbelievably cozy—the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed and never want to leave. The cabin itself was beautiful, spotless, and clearly cared for with a lot of attention to detail. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay while still keeping that warm, rustic cabin atmosphere. Waking up surrounded by trees, enjoying the quiet mornings, and coming back to such a cozy space at the end of the day made the entire trip feel special. The location was easily one of our favourite parts. It was wonderfully quiet and secluded, and being surrounded by nature made it feel like a genuine getaway. Whether we were relaxing inside or simply enjoying the peacefulness of the woods, it was exactly the kind of place where you can slow down and forget about everything else for a while. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into making this cabin feel welcoming and comfortable for guests. We left wishing we could have stayed longer and would come back again without hesitation. If you’re looking for a beautiful, peaceful, cozy cabin in the woods to relax, recharge, and make some great memories, this place is an absolute gem. Easy 5/5 and one of those stays you’ll remember forever

Always a great time at Riverbend! This was my first time visiting in the summer, and it was really nice to be able to swim in the river! If you plan on walking up and down the river, I would recommend water shoes. Will definitely be back and 10/10 would recommend!

My dog and I did a little escape to Natalie’s and had a fantastic time! Natalie has created a little slice of paradise and is incredibly lovely and thoughtful. The bunkie was well stocked with everything you would need - sheets, towels, pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. There are small appliances like a BBQ, coffee maker, microwave, kettle, etc. for use. Things were well organized and clean. The river is lovely to swim in and it’s very relaxing having a fire at nice. Bring your bug repellent! There are lots of mosquitoes - but that’s the outdoors for you! Hopefully my pup and I can make it a yearly retreat.

Amazing, private spot on the river! Perfect place to escape the city. The cabin is well-stocked and there are many different spots across the property to spend time during your stay.
