A private piece of Prince Edward County! An adorable little retro styled bunkie on a private woodsy property that’s just a fifteen minute walk (or three minute drive) from a picturesque rock beach on Lake Ontario. Tucked in privately from the road out of site by a bunch of junipers and other trees located on the property. The bunkie offers a nice queen sized bed, a little area to the side with chairs and a table to relax if you need to get out of the sun/rain, and a very chill 70’s beach vibe. If the wind is just right, you will be able to hear the waves crash from the beach! The property has a perfect little hangout area where there is a nice big fire pit, patio table/chairs, as well as a portable bbq (you will just need to bring your own little Coleman propane cylinder with you.) If it’s a nice clear night, stare up to the sky and you may see the Milky Way above! There are a couple short loop trails that you can walk your dog on that loop from the bunkie/hangout area that will loop you back to either spot on the property. I just ask you to be respectful of cleaning up after your pets if you bring any. There are some pylons located in areas on the trails to indicate not to go past those any further due to it being not maintained past that those points. The land is located on probably one of the quietest roads in the County. You may see more off road vehicles if your on your way to the beach then you would cars. There is also a little outhouse located at the front of the property off to the side of the driveway. Twenty minutes from the town of Picton where you can find any amenity you require! A gorgeous town with tons of great restaurants, wineries, breweries, farm stands, artisans and shopping. Check out the rest of Prince Edward County by just adding a few more minutes to your trip in any direction to explore our other great towns around the community. So much to see and do here, lots of sightseeing, nature trails, conservation areas and don’t forget the world famous Sandbanks provincial park! (The largest sandbar beach in Canada). Perfect getaway for a couples glamping experience, solo glamping, peace, quiet, and relaxation. Or to just let loose and have a great time! There are no houses to either side of the property, so there’s no worry to be quiet 😉.

The bunkie features a queen mattress, 4 windows and if desired, the mattress can be rolled up to accommodate a centre table for card playing. There is no hydro, indoor water or heat in the bunkie. If you need to charge your cell phone, consider having a portable solar phone charger or a portable power bank as there is NO hydro on the property. ** NOTE - be sure to enter the full address in your GPS for accurate directions. Outdoor amenities include: propane barbeque, firepit, countertop for food prep, cast iron frying pan and pot, plates, bowls, mugs, and flatware. A sink is on site for dishwashing and hygiene using non-potable water which we provide. A pit outhouse is available; sorry, no shower yet. Bring your own linens, pillows, sleeping bag and water for drinking. Since you'll be in a nature environment, bug spray is a good idea. Be mindful of identifying poison ivy too. Due to invasive insects, please do not bring firewood - we have firewood on site. The grounds are an excellent location for walking, photography, writing, drawing, painting, forest bathing, meditation or just to chillax. For those looking for local attractions: Westben Theatre, Launch your fishing boat or kayak at Trent River Monument (9 km from site), Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge, Seymour Conservation Area (with a quarry for swimming), Dooher's Bakery, Empire Cheese, Church-Key Brewing, Fogorig Brewing and several food and restaurant establishments are available in Campbellford area. Sit by the pond, sit by the creek, sit in the waterfall, sit out at Blueberry Hill for a pleasant breeze or up on SunStar Ridge for some nightly star gazing or lay back in a hammock or on zero gravity chairs 1 Bunkie on a hill overlooking the pond and 2 private tent sites, one at Boot Hill and one in the Field of Dreams. Each site has a fire pit and a compostable toilet and there is a compostable toilet in an outhouse on the property for the bunkie. Great for canoes, kayaks, bird and wildlife watching with spectacular star gazing. This property was part of an old homestead and as such I am still finding things so please respect the caution tape. Some finds are treasures (European Grapes, Bergamot, French Roses, Asparagus, Rhubarb, Ramps, Fiddle-heads) and others not so much. I am re purposing what I can and collecting the rest for disposal as I nurture this land back to what it was meant to be, paradise. There is an outdoor shower available as well. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river. Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area. All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals. There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!! PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices. ***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this. We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests. This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience. Historical Significance of the property When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place. It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

See the Thousand Islands on a Gananoque boat cruise, experience a sunset ceremony at Old Fort Henry, hop on the Kingston Trolley and tour the many historic sites in the Limestone City. We invite you to enjoy nature’s beauty relaxing in a hammock, roasting marshmallows over a crackling campfire or just chilling as you escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. As mentioned already, this is an Off-grid site with no power. Potable water and basic necessities are provided. Pets are welcome but please clean up after your fur baby. The river flowing through… YES, you can sit in and enjoy! Sooo refreshing, for both my dog and myself, as it was very hot during my stay. Natalie was very welcoming to both of us and My puppy truly enjoyed the loving attention given. It’s called the Blue Heron but we also experienced deer crossing in the water, beaver and maybe otters/mink playing in the water, a cute fox, a raccoon and a porcupine! Definitely a beautiful spot for relaxing! Thank you Natalie! 💝

2 nights at Juniper Beach Bunkie

We really enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the seating arrangement inside helped when it was raining outside. The barbeque had extra amenities like barbeque tools. And the fire had some extra newspaper to help for starter. There are chairs around the fire and the table for eating. It was very useful. The property is quite large. We used the fan that was provided and it was very welcomed. The outhouse was quite clean too. If you are going, bring shoes that can get wet as the whole property is a little marshy. Also, my daughter did not like the little ants in the Bunkie, they did not bother me. The beach down the street was beautiful. About a five minute drive. Bring water shoes for the beach since it is rocky.

Weekend Trip to Riverbend

From the moment we arrived we knew we booked the right place! Katrina and Grahams private oasis was far more than we could have expected. The cabin was equipped with all sorts of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc. The inside stove was a true blessing for us coffee lovers lol. The room itself was more than enough room for my family of 4 (2 adults, 2 small kids) AND 2 large dogs. We were able to fit a queen size blow up mattress beside the bed to make a mega bed for the 4 of us. The cabin was also stocked with flashlights, lanterns and head lamps! The out building had cotts if need be along with an abundance of chairs and fishing equipment. The fire pit was big and beautiful and came with a VERY useful cast iron pot with grill to boil water over the fire. There was some wood readily available and hubby enjoyed foraging. The sitting area overlooking the river had a stunning view where we took many photos. The 2nd sitting area had a screened in porch with deck and dock just a few feet away. The kids had a wonderful time watching the crayfish and attempting to catch minnows here. The 3rd sitting area had a firepit overlooking the water. We enjoyed canoeing and even took a trip to Crowe lake for some fishing. Katrina & Graham literally thought of everything to make this place perfect and We had the most WONDERFUL time ♡ Our dogs were in literal HEAVEN the entire time swimming their hearts out. Our only regret was not booking a longer trip! Thanks SO much K&G! we WILL be back! 😁

My partner and I had a great weekend at the farm Bunkie. Dorothy was responsive and great to deal with. She made sure we had firewood, propane, and anything else we needed. Lots of privacy and in close proximity to Seelys bay and Rideau canal. Definitely would recommend

Weekend Trip to Riverbend

Absolutely loved the Riverbend. Our dog was happy to have space to run around and us not having to worry about her. Many sitting areas to relax at whether you wanted to watch the rapids or enjoy the screened in gazebo by the dock. Short trails wandered through the property for some exploring. And the cabin was a delight. Small but roomy with everything you need. Lots of little touches to make it that much better. Even the outhouse was clean and roomy. We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Riverbend

After a stressful week at work, we were looking for a place to decompress and think about nothing for a short while. Riverbend's pictures and previous reviews fit the bill entirely (we're drawn to rushing water and rapids). The pictures do not do it justice! Booking was a breeze, and Katrina and Graham even made a point to make sure the firewood shed was adequately stacked (we're also drawn to campfires) and even installed the missing ladder on the dock in the morning before we arrived. The cabin is extremely well-appointed with amenities and stuff you may have forgotten. The outhouse is truly a destination in itself - not sure I've ever put those words together before! Just a wonderful place to unwind - we spent most of the hot Saturday in the water just lazying around on a tube and stand-up paddleboard (that we brought). I suppose an honest review needs to include something mildly negative, so here's our only complaint - we had to leave and go home. That was more our fault though. We can't wait to come back. Thanks Katrina and Graham!

Our family recently stayed here and we cannot recommend it enough. If you love the idea of being surrounded by nature but still want the comfort and convenience of modern life, this is the perfect spot. The site itself was beautiful and well-maintained. The accommodations were complete with all the essential amenities, making the experience completely stress-free. It was the perfect balance of a rugged outdoor vibe and total comfort. The hosts were helpful and hospitable and quick to answer our questions. We had an amazing time and wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Weekend Trip to Glamorous Camping in the Woods

This was our first glamping experience and Sibo and Gee were exceptional hosts. They were very responsive to our questions and available throughout our stay. We booked 2 sites and everything was pretty much provided for us! The beds were comfortable and there were extra blankets for the nights that dipped in temperature. The kitchens had everything we needed so we didn't need to bring many supplies other than food. We were able to purchase firewood from them and Gee was nice enough to drop off fresh eggs from their chickens. The property was well maintained and the kids had so much fun exploring. There were activities like board games and axe throwing that kept us entertained too. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun yet relaxing glamping experience!

We need instantly fell in love with Grayotter cabin, it’s so welcoming and cozy. It’s equipped with absolutely everything you could need. The buildings and property layout gives preparation for the ability to enjoy your time in any weather setting. It’s a large private property on the water with multiple viewing and enjoyment options. It’s evident a lot of thought and effort went into this place and I can’t wait to stay again!

Excellent place:quiet,safe. 11 km. from Campbellford. We stayed there already second time,although we prefer do not visit same places twice. Nice place to spend few days together far from civilization. Hosts Michaelene and Paul are very helpful. At the camp you can have all necessary stuff: kitchenware, woods etc.

I really enjoyed staying at Sibo’s land, the tent was massive with comfortable beds and pillows, the washroom/ shower were close and welcoming, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and forgot to bring, they also brought us fresh farm eggs.
