A private piece of Prince Edward County! An adorable little retro styled bunkie on a private woodsy property that’s just a fifteen minute walk (or three minute drive) from a picturesque rock beach on Lake Ontario. Tucked in privately from the road out of site by a bunch of junipers and other trees located on the property. The bunkie offers a nice queen sized bed, a little area to the side with chairs and a table to relax if you need to get out of the sun/rain, and a very chill 70’s beach vibe. If the wind is just right, you will be able to hear the waves crash from the beach! The property has a perfect little hangout area where there is a nice big fire pit, patio table/chairs, as well as a portable bbq (you will just need to bring your own little Coleman propane cylinder with you.) If it’s a nice clear night, stare up to the sky and you may see the Milky Way above! There are a couple short loop trails that you can walk your dog on that loop from the bunkie/hangout area that will loop you back to either spot on the property. I just ask you to be respectful of cleaning up after your pets if you bring any. There are some pylons located in areas on the trails to indicate not to go past those any further due to it being not maintained past that those points. The land is located on probably one of the quietest roads in the County. You may see more off road vehicles if your on your way to the beach then you would cars. There is also a little outhouse located at the front of the property off to the side of the driveway. Twenty minutes from the town of Picton where you can find any amenity you require! A gorgeous town with tons of great restaurants, wineries, breweries, farm stands, artisans and shopping. Check out the rest of Prince Edward County by just adding a few more minutes to your trip in any direction to explore our other great towns around the community. So much to see and do here, lots of sightseeing, nature trails, conservation areas and don’t forget the world famous Sandbanks provincial park! (The largest sandbar beach in Canada). Perfect getaway for a couples glamping experience, solo glamping, peace, quiet, and relaxation. Or to just let loose and have a great time! We really enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the seating arrangement inside helped when it was raining outside. The barbeque had extra amenities like barbeque tools. And the fire had some extra newspaper to help for starter. There are chairs around the fire and the table for eating. It was very useful. The property is quite large. We used the fan that was provided and it was very welcomed. The outhouse was quite clean too. If you are going, bring shoes that can get wet as the whole property is a little marshy. Also, my daughter did not like the little ants in the Bunkie, they did not bother me. The beach down the street was beautiful. About a five minute drive. Bring water shoes for the beach since it is rocky.

Great weekend spent with our furry baby at juniper beach bunkie!! Perfect getaway close to a super cute little beach! Place is exactly what we needed: private, calm and well maintained, perfect to unwind and enjoy nature.

Camping at Juniper beach bunkie was a positive experience. The bunkie was clean and spacious, and the area of the site was quiet. There is minimal (if any) cell service so make sure you have your map downloaded in advance.

It was so peaceful and serene at Jays bunker retreat. Enough room for my pop up trailer as well as two cars, though it was just me and the pups this trip. Super close to the most gorgeous beach (Point Petre) and nice clean level site. The bunkie is the CUTEST with adorable decor and the perfect rustic feel.

Amazing Wilderness
Juniper Beach Bunkie
Truly an amazing spot! The bunkie was very stylish and the set up was really well thought out. We stayed here for two nights and had the best sleep ever. We swam a bunch at Point Petre and it really made the trip for us. So much beautiful nature and so much privacy too. The host was very communicative and responsive! I will say that the bunkie can get pretty hot during the day, so I recommend choosing activities outside of the site during the day! Also make sure to pack some bug spray, the bugs were abundant and the mosquitoes were hungry at night. That being said, the bunkie has a very air tight mosquito net situation and while you are in it, you are 100% bug free which was amazing! Plus, bugs are part of the deal when you go off the grid and it was a 1000% worth it. We would def recommend and stay here again!

When I arrived at the site, asked for an extra day because of how awesome this place was. Three nights turned out to be the perfect amount of time to explore everything we wanted at Sandbanks and enjoy the camp site. Even four nights would’ve kept us entertained! You can tell a lot of thought went into designing this spot. We especially loved being just a 3-minute drive from a stunning rock beach, perfect for sunsets and feeling refreshed.

Intimate and Cozy getaway!

We had a really great time at the Beach Bunkie! It is quiet, intimate, cozy and perfect for nature lovers. We enjoyed the fire pit and bbq at night. Perfect if you are visiting sansbanks region. We highly recommend and had a wonderful stay!

This was an amazing stay. The property and the bunkie are lovely. Jay is a fantastic host - responsive and quick. The point Petere beach is a 5 min drive. Highly recommend - one can't swim but you can relax and enjoy the loveky water.

Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed our journey. The bunkie got all you need to cook food which is really nice(bbq and propane stove). Also, the location of the bunkie is perfect. First, it is really calm and at night, you can see very well the stars and you can hear a lot of animals. Another reason is because it is close to Sandbanks and Picton which are very beautiful place (around 20 minutes from both).

My girlfriend and I really appreciated the cuteness, intimacy and uniqueness of the place. 20 minutes to sandbanks and 2minutes away from a very nice rocky beach. A hidden spot that deserves a look at least if you go there.

Private and spectacular
Juniper Beach Bunkie
This is a large and well-built bunkie, very suitable for two people and a dog! There are lots of thoughtful touches, like bug screens on the windows and on the door, so we were able to sleep with the door open for a beautiful breeze. Outside the bunkie is a lovely little picnic area with seating and fairy lights - very charming. I set up a hammock there and slept outside one night. The stars are spectacular in this remote little corner of the county, far from any city or street lights. It's very private, with lots of trees and no immediate neighbours. The beach area nearby is just spectacular (although bring good shoes, it's very rocky!) Nearby are two excellent wineries (Lighthall is especially recommended) and the new Base31 art space is just awesome. Bloomfield is about a (very pretty) 20min drive away. Jay was a great host, with an easy handoff (lock box) and good communication. Things to note: there is NO water or electricity, and the nearest place to buy anything is a good 10 min drive away, so make sure you bring lots of water and battery packs for your phone! Also, the cell service is quite spotty. Whether you get service or not depends on what company you are with (Rogers worked, Virgin did not!) I had a very pleasant stay in the county. This is much more private than Sandbanks and I hope to return next summer!
