We loved our stay in Jack's Cabin and would highly recommend! We felt very welcome and were even able to get tips on how to use the wood stove and stay cozy during our weekend away :)

We thought for $83 a night it would be a fun spot to spend our Christmas,,, I didn’t find out until later that we were being charged $179 a night.
The dishes and utensils all had to be washed as they were all dirty, no dish rack or tea towels to dry them with, would have been nice to have a step at the foot of the bed so it would be easier to climb up on, but that would have limited the space in the kitchen significantly. The bbq wouldn’t have been able to cook our small Christmas turkey,,,would barely cook 2 small steaks the first night there. It kept sputtering away and the bottom was rusting out,,, and all of the bbq utensils were filthy,,, obviously not cleaned in some time. For $83 a night it might have been fun, for $179 a night it was a rip off. There are a lot better places out there for $180 a night. We left after one night. Don’t understand why the price double,, wasn’t anything special going on

We booked this cabin for two nights with our dog, hoping for a quiet escape from society and the hustle and bustle of the city. The drive was approximately 2.5+ hours, so it was definitely a trek and something we committed to for peace and privacy.
Unfortunately, that peace was disrupted. During our stay, we were interrupted twice by the cleaner and once by one of the owners. We were even asked to prove that we had actually booked the cabin, due to apparent family drama and a lack of communication between the owners. This was uncomfortable and took away from the entire purpose of our getaway.
The cabin itself was also missing some very basic essentials. There were no paper towels or rags to wipe anything down, very limited toilet paper, no garbage bags, and the space was extremely tight for two adults and a dog, which made the stay feel cramped rather than cozy.
On the positive side, locating the cabin was easy, the cabin was nicely decorated, and the wood stove was a great feature and added some warmth and charm to the space.
Overall, while the aesthetics were pleasant, the interruptions, lack of privacy, and missing necessities made this stay disappointing and not the relaxing retreat we were hoping for.

Super cute little get away! lots of blankets provided along with essentials, BBQ had propane, games and dvds were provided for a rainy day. Very peaceful, and close to tweed for last minute runs into town!

Jacks Cabin was a perfect cozy cottage in the woods. Beautiful property and plenty of classic board games to play by fire light. The wood stove kept up very warm throughout the night.
The only con is the outhouse has a window but no curtain. Its a small critique but worth mentioning.
We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone looking to get away for a quiet weekend check out this property.

My partner and I really loved the cabin and area despite not being able to have a fire due to the fire restrictions in the area. The loft was awesome and we really enjoyed going out on the balcony to enjoy our coffee. The cabin has wonderful ambiance and is perfect for couple's or an individual to spend some alone time.

Jack's cabin was absolutely fantastic, we had a wonderful stay!
The walk from our car was quick and the trail was well groomed and easy to navigate. The cabin itself was stunning and extremely well decorated, inside and out! Very neat, tidy and stocked with everything we could possibly need. Surrounded by beautiful forest with no neighbors in sight, the site felt private, cozy and quiet. We also appreciated the information binder about the cabin itself and the surrounding area. A great guide for nature trails, sights to see, local restaurants and entertainment. We had a wonderful time and will be sure to return!

It was a very picturesque place, the interior was well decorated and it was well thought out. It looks just like the pictures tho I felt like the upkeep could be better. All the electronic candles were dead, the bedroom starlights were also dead but I found some replacement batteries and changed them myself. The TV is only useful to play DVDs as WIFI is not included and the signal is so spotty you cant stream anything. Not a big deal for us as we were out doing activities. The propane for the grill and butane for the stove ran out during our last night. I had brought my own stove and butane so I didn't bother asking for it to be replaced during our stay, tho It would be nice to have extras in the kitchen.
The kitchen and bbq cleanliness is a bit questionable, some of the glasses and plates looked oily. We washed everything before we used them. Dish soap is provided but there is no sponge or dish cloth. Luckily I had brought a few dish cloths from home so I used those. The sink pump faucet was broken, I informed the host who promptly responded and said they ordered a new one but it never got fixed during our stay. Wish the sink was bigger as it was hard to clean
We overall had a great time, just a few tweaks and this place could be perfect. It was nice to have some electricity and the bed was comfortable and lots of extra pillows. Views of the sky from the balcony were gorgeous.

The cabin is cozy and has everything you need…except a shower. The listing is somewhat misleading as it says it has cold water showers and there’s only a camp shower. We got creative with washing so we made do. Just bring extra water or make a plan for bathing if you stay here.
Malissa and Corey are very helpful and promptly respond to messages and requests.
The kitchen is well-stocked and the DVD collection was nice to check out. There’s lots of games and a listing of places to explore the local area.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet but do be warned- the mosquitos are bad, so bring lots of bug spray!

This cabin definitely has charm—it’s tucked away and looked like the perfect cozy escape, the photos gave us high hopes.
Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the listing. When we arrived, it was clear the cabin had not been properly cleaned. our experience fell far short of expectations due to poor cleanliness and hygiene issues. The unit appeared to have not been properly cleaned or turned over between guests—it was booked right up until our arrival, and the condition reflected that.
We did reach out and the host responded quickly and offered to change the sheets, which we appreciated. She was pleasant and easy to communicate with. But the overall condition left us feeling uncomfortable and just grossed out—it just wasn’t something a clean set of sheets could fix. We ended up leaving that night and checking into a hotel.
Bottom line: The setting is lovely and the host was responsive, but the lack of cleanliness was a major letdown. If this listing interests you, I’d recommend double-checking the cleaning standards or considering other options.

We stayed in the cabin for a couple of nights and we did enjoy our stay overall! The cabin looked exactly like the pictures and was well-stocked, cozy, and pretty spacious to chill out and enjoy the lovely view out of the window. The stove was a great touch and really made the place warm and comfortable! The nostalgic DVDs and boardgames were also great to have.
When we stayed, unfortunately, there was a problem with ants. We noticed a couple our first day but there were significantly more when we returned after being out for the day. When I contacted the host, she responded super fast and offered ant traps which was very much appreciated! Once we noticed the ants, however, we did take a closer look around the cabin (searching for ants) and noticed that it wasn't particularly clean. The bottom drawers with the bowls/camping stove were pretty dirty and there were hairs down the sides of the bed and on the blankets which was off-putting. It looked like it needed a thorough vacuum/clean.
To sum, the place was nearly great, but was difficult to enjoy properly because it was relatively unclean. As an added note, for any future guests, the area is heavily populated with ticks (black-legged/Lyme-carrying) so plan ahead! We walked the trails with our dog and ended up removing 12+ ticks from him.

My Fiancé & I loved our rainy Saturday night stay at Jack’s Cabin!
Malissa & Corey were very helpful - Corey gave us a lift back to the cabin; the rain had made the trail a smidge mucky. They also answered any questions we had very promptly.
The cabin was clean, quaint and homey - complete with a wicked selection of DVD’s, board games, puzzles and a few different books to read.
If you’re looking for a romantic night away with your loved one, Jack’s is the way to go!
We’re sure to return.

We had a great time at Jack’s cabin! It was the perfect place for a winter getaway with our pups. The property is awesome with a nice little trail loop to walk. Although the cabin is on the hosts property, it is set far back and was very private. The bed was comfortable and we really enjoyed firing up the water of stove and throwing in some nostalgic DVDs at night. Great hosts that were available when needed. We would come back for sure!

This was such a great winter getaway! Malissa and Cory’s cabin was literally perfect for us. Our dogs absolutely loved exploring the trail and woods around the cabin. While it was on the hosts property, we felt like we had our own private, safe space. The cabin itself was cozy and had all the amenities we needed. And if we did need anything, Cory was just a text away to bring us what we needed. We will be coming back for sure. Highly recommend if you love roughing it a bit*

We absolutely loved our stay at Jack’s. It’s so cozy and beautiful. The woodstove was our favourite part of the cabin and it kept it so warm! There is a walking trail around the property and it’s very calm and quiet! It’s the perfect winter getaway!

Beautiful, cozy cabin with all the amenities. Clean, beautifully decorated and maintained. Tons of firewood to keep warm. Love the dvds, books, games, guitar in the cabin. Hosts are close by if needed. Location is so close to a few towns if you need groceries. Very easy to find. Can't wait to come again!
