If you want to learn about plant medicine, cold climate polyculture, sylvopasture and syntropic gardening techniques these are being EXPERIMENTED with here at the homestead, The focus and goal here is to act as a plant nursery and protector of biodiversity and forest integrity. There are lakes in the area but not all are accessible 2 people ideal!....Bring your foamy, camp cots, camping mattress and own bedding, the floor of the cabin is insulated and clean, I'm going for the zen feeling with minimal furniture, a great place to dance, do yoga and bodywork, sound therapy ect... There is one tent sites to choose from near cabin. Pllease respect the peace of the forest Their is power in the cabin from the main house but it is still basically camping. The more independant yo are the better. Toaster oven and hot plate, kettle provided but no running water. Currently setting up outdoor camp shower. Located 15 minutes to local restaurants and grocery stores in Morin Heights and St Sauveur Note; this is a work in progress, no running water in cabin, compost toilet is being set up. The cabin is 3 season and insulated with a woodburning stove to keep yourselves warm and toasty. Solar power energy, outhouse, out door shower (rain dependent), propane bbq and of course an outdoor fire pit. Everything you need to quickly settle into relaxation and peace. OFF-GRID FEATURES: The a-frame uses solar panels for lighting. There is an outdoor shower that is rain fed. Relying on rain and sun means that if there hasn't been any - these amenities won't be available. We recommend you bring along your own flash lights incase our solar panel is low on power. Bring along your portable chargers as there is some cell service up in this neck of the woods. Though the strength seems to vary depending on your device and your carrier. NO WIFI. A-FRAME AMENITIES: The last resort has one queen bed with bedding included. Solar lights inside the redneck bathroom and cabin. Deck with Adirondack chairs for lounging. Solar lighting surrounding the area. Propane BBQ. Outdoor fireplace with chairs. Bedding. Towels. Basic amenities included. Bring your bug spray, water, and food for a for a perfect quiet getaway. The a-frame has some games, cards, and books for you to enjoy as well. Please note we do not provide firewood, we can deliver some for a small fee, or you are more than welcome to bring your own. Off-grid means an outhouse -- woohoo. There is a rain collection barrel water system for an outdoor shower and to wash your hands and things. Again -- if there hasn't been any rain -- there will not be any water. Keep this in mind please. The water is not potable. We highly encourage you to bring enough water to boil, drink, and wash your hands / self with. We do have an outdoor water source close by if you need to refill your jugs. We have parking available for a car or two. Its in a cleared spot on our 30 acres close to the a-frame. Park your vehicle - grab your belongings - a short jaunt through the trees / woods will lead you to the secluded a-frame. This is a 'walk in' listing. You must carry your things from the parking area about a minute leading to the a-frame. There are no facilities to store food in the a-frame so please bring along your cooler and ice. Bring your hiking shoes and take a stroll through the beautiful private land. There is some wildlife so keep your food in the a-frame or in closed containers. Close to the cabin is waterfront and our private nature trail -- with a dock and kayaks-- its at the end of the lake but none the less -- its beautiful, peaceful and calm. Fishing is fantastic on a few of the lakes close by. There is a public beach about 12 minutes away from the chalet. We have everything you need to recharge your batteries and truly enjoy nature. The cabins electrical is run off solar power. Extended periods of overcast weather may temporarily impact the availability of power. We do not supply firewood -- we have a bit stocked up from clearing the land you are free to use until its gone -- feel free to scavenge some of the dead wood in the forest and around the cabin -- an axe and a little manual labour voila free firewood. You are also welcome to bring your own chopped wood. Lac Long is the lake closest to the a-frame. We have a trail for direct water access. We also offer two kayaks and a dock for guests to use during their stay. Just follow the trail closest to the cottage and it will lead you to the water. About a 10m walk. Lac Blue Sea is 13 minutes from the a-frame - There is a sandy beach on Lac Blue Sea for swimming. Wonderful lake for fishing. Blue Sea is a hidden gem for nature lovers, offering a variety of outdoor activities and natural wonders to explore. From hiking trails to lakes and parks, Blue Sea has something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a relaxing vacation or an adventure in the great outdoors, Blue Sea is the perfect destination. This rare urban site acknowledges our Abenaki heritage, who camped and lived along these shores for centuries. Our beautiful urban location near highway 410 and Bishop's University, directly on St. Francis river, makes it an exceptional starting point for cyclists who want to enjoy the Route Verte path; fish, canoe, kayak or tube the river or simply explore all Sherbrooke has to offer. Our birdlife is amazing and is a recognized birding location by provincial authorities, especially for swallows and chimney swifts. A fire pit will be made available, in respect of all fire bans, with firewood available for purchase. In 1910, Agriculture Canada set up a research centre that operated until the 1950's. The property was sold to a family that emigrated to Canada from Europe, to set begin a new life post WW2. In 2015, I purchased the property to return it to its roots - regenerative farming, training, hospitality, poverty relief and healthy living. Welcome to Our Cliffside Cabin We built this cabin on the edge of a cliff because, well, the views are simply incredible. You'll catch breathtaking sunsets from our covered deck, where you can rock away your cares in our handcrafted Costa Rican chairs. There's always a natural breeze up here that keeps things cool and (bonus!) keeps the mosquitoes away, even in summer. Our 164 acres gives you plenty of room to find your own space. We've carved out 10km of trails through the forest that we maintain and mark carefully. You won't get lost, but you will feel wonderfully removed from the everyday world. For more hiking adventures, step outside and you're right on the Trans Canada Trail. One of our favorite spots is the private lake at the back of the property. It's a bit of a hike to reach it, but that's what makes it special. Not many people get to swim in their own private lake! When you're ready for more water adventures, we're just 10 minutes from the Gatineau River. We can rent you canoes and drop them at the boat launch (5km from the cabin). The river above Paugan Dam is calm with no current—perfect for exploring islands, finding swimming spots, or paddling all the way to Lac St. Marie. Back at the cabin, you'll enjoy your private campfire area under the stars. Our wood-fired hot tub isn't just for soaking—its heating coil doubles as a grill for barbecuing. You'll find hammocks hung in just the right spots, and an outdoor kitchen with a stove top and camp oven for cooking. Don't worry about carrying your gear—it's a short 3-minute hike from the road, but we'll transport everything for you by ATV. We provide jugs of what we think is the best-tasting well water in the world. And despite feeling like you're miles from civilization, cell reception is excellent (you can even see the lights from the Low cell tower at night). Wakefield village is just 20 minutes away for supplies and restaurants, but you're secluded enough that if you choose, you won't see another soul during your entire stay.
