Weekend Trip to Terra Perma

Late March booking with very little snow left. Site was really nice and we had a great time. Good view, warm cabin, and nice site. Love the place. The mattress which I guess is foam or other is useless, sinks in the middle and has no support.

2 nights at Ferme Lanthorn

The Green Room was the Perfect solo writer's retreat. The room is absolutely beautiful, with dark green walls, gorgeous antique furniture, and charming artwork. Thanks to the electric heating and kettle, I never had to worry about making or maintaining a fire, which left a lot more time and energy to read and write. The lighting was perfect as well, with bright wall sconces to illuminate the room at night, and a bedside lamp for more focused light/reading in bed. Mary and family are very kind and hospitable, and also amazing at respecting boundries!! They took great care of me and the space, even letting me know before they let dogs out in case it would bug me. It felt confident that I would be left in peace as long as I wanted, but also that someone would be around if I needed anything. Even the animals were great. The sheep and goats are very friendly, and good listeners if you find yourself wandering the property at night. The deer are somewhat shyer, but still delightful. The only thing it was missing was running water, but this didn't bother me because I'm used to camping. Frankly, it was much fancier than I had anticipated. The composting toilet was lovely and modern, and came with clear instructions (in a fancy frame to boot). I recommend bringing baby wipes or other gentle dry-bathing material if you're going to do more than two nights.

Weekend Trip to Ferme Lanthorn

I have a wonderful weekend at the Green Bunky! Mary gave me a tour of the farm when I arrived and I got to meet (and even feed!) the deer, goats and sheep. The bunky was cute, cozy and peaceful. I was nice and warm all weekend and it had everything I needed. Mary also gave me some directions for snowshoeing and I had had a great time traipsing around in the woods, checking out the frozen beaver pond and checking out the logging trail. I'm looking forward to coming back next winter!

2 nights at Ferme Lanthorn

I had a lovely stay at the Green Bunky and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for some quiet time surrounded by nature. The Bunky has everything you might need for a short stay and feels very cosy. I particularly enjoyed the quiet, the opportunity to go for a nature walk in the nearby forest, meeting the animals and Mary's kindness and friendliness.

3 nights at Rustic Chic Cabin Waterfront

What an amazing stay at Cari-Anne’s cabin. The location is gorgeous and secluded, right by the lake. The cabin is super cosy and is well decked out with all the amenities for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommend.

It is a good mix of mountains and animal farm scenery with many pine trees.

Beautiful scenery and a place. Great for winter snow shoe walks. The grounds are very welcoming for guests. The lodging is very functional and practical. All your needs will be met!

My husband and I camped for the night in our roof top tent. We had such a warm greeting from the hosts and Mary showed us around the property. The property is beautiful. We walked through the woods and up the mountains. The animals were our favourite part of the visit. Overall, it was the perfect 24 hour getaway! And the stars at night were magnificent. It was a clear and cool night. We will be back!

La petite cabine en bois était bien équipée et chaleureuse, offrant un parfait mélange de confort et de simplicité proche de la nature. Notre hôte, Rae, a été particulièrement attentionnée et a contribué à rendre notre expérience encore plus agréable. Elle a su répondre à tous nos besoins avec gentillesse et discrétion, nous permettant de profiter pleinement de notre intimité tout en ayant l’assurance d’un accueil de qualité. Un séjour reposant et ressourçant dans un cadre magnifique – nous reviendrons certainement ! We had a wonderful time this weekend during our three-day stay at the Chemin de la Rivière Rouge, Grenville. The small wooden cabin was well-equipped and cozy, offering the perfect blend of comfort and simplicity close to the nature. Our host, Rae, was especially attentive and helped make our experience even better. She met all our needs with kindness and respect, allowing us to fully enjoy our privacy while providing quality hospitality. A relaxing and rejuvenating stay in a beautiful setting – we will definitely be back!

The catherdral tin roof cabin has enough space for dinning, entertaining and yoga, it also has a sleeping loft for 2 people, and can be used as a reading nook, bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, and towels and you are welcome to set up a tent on the outdoor camping site. There is a heated full pressure shower, compost toilet and an outdoor sink and cooking station. The site is booked for complete privacy, only one group booking at a time, so you have your own private spot in the woods. There is a fireplace in the cabin with plenty of wood. The floor is mostly nature stepping stones, hand picked from the woods. The cabin is nestled in a moss and fern magical woods with fireflies, owls, deer, and foxes. There are groomed peaceful walking trails. A sphere shaped cooking outdoor fireplace under firefly solar lights adds to the magical experience. There are wonderful activates such as fishing, kayaking (Safari Kayak) and bike trails in the local area. Go back in time and experience the rare wisdom of the sugar maple trees that are over 150 feet tall. There are only 5 cabins on the 4 acre site, so your privacy is guaranteed. The stars are always impressive here, as well as the fireflies on the hill next to us in june/july/aug.
