The Point...
The main shared area "The Point", is the peninsula that the main roadway ends at (where the BBQ, kayaks and canoes are), this is a shared area for us and our guests to enjoy. The Point offers a large picnic table, a propane BBQ, comfortable seating, a large rock perfect for sunbathing, and a river view. It's an ideal spot for swimming and launching canoes, kayaks, or paddle-board river excursions, thanks to its shallow entry and rocky bottom. Adventurous visitors might choose to paddle upriver, around an island, and return through the remaining historic canal. For a more strenuous workout, consider paddling up the canal to the Grenville lighthouse and then drifting all the way back to camp with the river's current. Enjoy this historic, lazy river experience!

The micro-cabins are designed to disappear into the landscape - not minimalist for aesthetics, but stripped of everything that gets in the way. Wake up to birdsong or snow-muffled quiet depending on the season. Step outside to a lake that, for these few days, belongs entirely to you.
The Spa du Sous-Bois (Open from August to May) is the kind of place you stop rushing through. Outdoor thermal soaking, wood-fired sauna, deep forest quiet. Included in your stay. Best appreciated after a long afternoon on the trails or before the evening begins.
Friday and Saturday evenings, follow the lights through the trees to the Café-Buvette - a forest speakeasy that doesn't appear on any map. Handcrafted cocktails, local spirits, craft beers... the kind of atmosphere that only exists when the setting does the work.

We also welcome any pet travelling with you but please keep them on leash as we have two adorable cats we do not want to scare them.

I built this cabin to be a romantic, cozy off-grid getaway for humans , but if most of our guests are being honest, the dogs are the ones having the best time.
There’s a cozy queen bed with fresh linens and a down duvet. A covered deck with handcrafted rocking chairs for sunset views. A private fire area below for campfires and stargazing. LED lighting, a Bluetooth speaker, a Jackery battery bank, clean well water, lanterns, an outdoor shower, and a clean outhouse. I’ll even haul your gear in by ATV so you can settle in without the hassle.
And after all that work, most guests still seem to agree on the real highlight:
Watching their dogs absolutely lose their minds with happiness.
More than anything, this place has become a favourite for people who want to give their dogs the kind of freedom they rarely get anywhere else. Most of our guests tell us over and over, that their favourite part is watching their best friends make their own decisions, run the trails, sniff everything, chase chipmunks, explore the forest, and basically have the time of their lives.
Of course, the humans tend to enjoy themselves too.
The cabin sits on a west-facing cliff on our private 164-acre property. Once you arrive, you’ll have the feeling of having the whole place to yourselves. The trails, the forest, the quiet, the sunsets, it all feels wonderfully removed from the usual noise.
In summer, the forest is lush, green, and full of life. The days are warm, the trails are shaded, and evenings at the cliff often bring a breeze and a beautiful sunset. For dogs, there’s endless space to explore. For people, it’s a chance to unplug, slow down, and enjoy a kind of peace that’s getting harder to find.
You’ll have access to 10 km of private trails through forest, ridgelines, and lakeshore. Wildlife is plentiful, and depending on the season, you may spot deer, foxes, loons, and maybe even a family of bald eagles!
There’s no electricity or running water, but that’s part of the magic. This is real off-grid comfort: simple, peaceful, and thoughtfully set up so you can enjoy nature without giving up a good night’s sleep.

Welcome to The Maple Ridge Retreat. Your destination for complete relaxation. This chalet has direct access to our private nature trail nestled on our 30 acres that leads to waterfront access on the beautiful Lac Long. The nature trail is great for snow shoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter, summer day hiking and exploring Lac Long in the warmer months. Follow the trail to the water and you’ll find kayaks, a canoe and a cedar dock to launch yourself onto Lac Long and explore the beautiful waters. Fishing in the lake is fantastic as well you can do that from the raft or by canoe.
This is an off-grid cabin located in Blue Sea, QC. On 30 acres of wilderness. The cabin is 3 season and insulated with a woodburning stove to keep yourselves warm and toasty. Solar power energy, outhouse, out door shower (rain dependent), propane bbq and of course an outdoor fire pit. Everything you need to quickly settle into relaxation and peace.
OFF-GRID FEATURES: The a-frame uses solar panels for lighting. There is an outdoor shower that is rain fed. Relying on rain and sun means that if there hasn't been any - these amenities won't be available. We recommend you bring along your own flash lights incase our solar panel is low on power. Bring along your portable chargers as there is some cell service up in this neck of the woods. Though the strength seems to vary depending on your device and your carrier. NO WIFI.
A-FRAME AMENITIES: The last resort has one queen bed with bedding included. Solar lights inside the redneck bathroom and cabin. Deck with Adirondack chairs for lounging. Solar lighting surrounding the area. Propane BBQ. Outdoor fireplace with chairs. Bedding. Towels. Basic amenities included. Bring your bug spray, water, and food for a for a perfect quiet getaway. The a-frame has some games, cards, and books for you to enjoy as well. Please note we do not provide firewood, we can deliver some for a small fee, or you are more than welcome to bring your own.
Off-grid means an outhouse -- woohoo. There is a rain collection barrel water system for an outdoor shower and to wash your hands and things. Again -- if there hasn't been any rain -- there will not be any water. Keep this in mind please. The water is not potable. We highly encourage you to bring enough water to boil, drink, and wash your hands / self with. We do have an outdoor water source close by if you need to refill your jugs.
We have parking available for a car or two. Its in a cleared spot on our 30 acres close to the a-frame. Park your vehicle - grab your belongings - a short jaunt through the trees / woods will lead you to the secluded a-frame. This is a 'walk in' listing. You must carry your things from the parking area about a minute leading to the a-frame. There are no facilities to store food in the a-frame so please bring along your cooler and ice.
Bring your hiking shoes and take a stroll through the beautiful private land. There is some wildlife so keep your food in the a-frame or in closed containers. Close to the cabin is waterfront and our private nature trail -- with a dock and kayaks-- its at the end of the lake but none the less -- its beautiful, peaceful and calm. Fishing is fantastic on a few of the lakes close by. There is a public beach about 12 minutes away from the chalet.
We have everything you need to recharge your batteries and truly enjoy nature.
The cabins electrical is run off solar power. Extended periods of overcast weather may temporarily impact the availability of power. We do not supply firewood -- we have a bit stocked up from clearing the land you are free to use until its gone -- feel free to scavenge some of the dead wood in the forest and around the cabin -- an axe and a little manual labour voila free firewood. You are also welcome to bring your own chopped wood.
Lac Long is the lake closest to the a-frame. We have a trail for direct water access. We also offer two kayaks and a dock for guests to use during their stay. Just follow the trail closest to the cottage and it will lead you to the water. About a 10m walk.

We loved this place so much! The overlooking patio, dock and beautiful swimming lake were the best. All the amenities made camping that much more convenient. If felt very private and so nice for the dog to be free to roam off leash for our stay. I was concerned a bit about proximity to the road, but it really was not an issue for us. We hope we can come back next year!

The whole camping area is beautiful and there are paths into the woods for walks. The site has play areas for kids and spaces for horses, and you can see the whole sky, which allows for star-gazing.

The forest on Paula and Benoit's land was beautiful and very well cared for. Falling asleep to the sound of the creek was magical! There was another campsite and cabin within sight, but not too close, and neither were rented while I was there so I had the place to myself. There's no firepit at the campsite but there is a communal fire area with a sink, covered picnic table, and lights for after dark, which I really appreciated as I could stay dry but still be out of my tent when it started raining. The day I left Benoit recommended a hike up Cap Scotch, which had incredible views of Lac Mégantique, I highly recommend it!
Paula and Benoit are quite serious about forest preservation and therefore have a list of rules for campers to adhere to that they are quite serious about. They check in with campers concerning these rules before finalising the booking and they are all in service of sustainability, but I would recommend emreafing them over before choosing this campsite so there are no unpleasant surprises on either end.

We arrived for a quick night stopover along our road trip. Though we arrived at dusk, we were struck by the beauty of the surroundings. We only made use of the washroom facility which was very clean and well equipped. We saw the neat kitchen from afar. If we come again, we’d allow ourselves more time. Only downside was arriving at night and unable to find out booked site nor signage to find it. We managed to connect with the host after some time.

The site was absolutely gorgeous - a short walk in to have a whole lake to yourself with its own dock. I’ve been searching forever for something like this in Quebec- it’s a real treat for anyone wanting to really feel alone in nature. We didn’t see the other campsites, but the cabins on the property also looked adorable. Matthew was helpful, communicative and made us feel welcome. 11/10!

Beautiful camping spots - and a very warm welcome by the super hosts. I went tent camping as solo parent with two young children, Matthew and his son were super helpful and supportive, and quick to find good solutions for a great stay. The lake views are stunning, the creek area really cozy, and there are plenty of nice trails to get around exploring. Would love to go back!

My partner and I loved camping on Matthew’s land. We booked the Hermitage site, which was basically its own secluded spot on a beautiful lake. It’s about a 5 minute easy walk to the site from the car and it’s so worth it for a hidden getaway. Matthew is also a very kind host and accomodating host. We had a magical time and look forward to coming back!

Gorgeous, natural property, warm river, oodles of boats/sup to play with, nice gathering spot with screen room and grill to congregate at, and wonderful hosts! Brien is a lovely host who tells interesting stories about the history of the property and area. There are a variety of decks and chairs and hammocks directly on the water to choose from. Definitely make use of the sups/kayaks/canoes and head up river to the bridge. There are two nice parks nearby (over bridge and by canal) and shopping with 5-10 minutes. Thanks so much Brien and Jen for a great week.

This is a little piece of Paradise in the middle of Saint George’s Quebec located on a large property right next to Rivière du Loup. Sebastian was such a helpful host ! I made a mistake on my booking date and he honored it the next day. Campsites were very clean and quiet. We really enjoyed the use of a picnic table on our side.

Beautiful scenery at a very organized site. The drives are marked well but I still went to far when I came into the site because I didn’t see the first signs and driveway. It’s also easy to meet other campers at the common areas. The bathroom and kitchen are well planned and stocked.

It was a beautiful site! So quiet and peaceful. Matthew was extremely helpful and kind throughout the whole process.
The lakes were breathtaking and calm too. We tried to fish with no luck, but that’s no big deal since it was relaxing just casting and enjoying the view.
Overall would definitely recommend this site, especially for those wanting to escape the city and technology for a while.

Nous avons absolument adoré ce camping ! 🏕️❤️ Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous en gardons de très beaux souvenirs. C’est un endroit magnifique, calme et chaleureux, parfait pour décrocher de la ville et profiter pleinement de la nature.
