🌲 Yūgen Yurt – A Nature-Infused Sanctuary for Stillness and Soul Welcome to Yūgen Yurt, a peaceful retreat tucked away in a quiet natural setting where comfort, simplicity, and the mystery of life intertwine. Named after the Japanese word yūgen, which speaks to the subtle, profound beauty of existence, this unique round dwelling invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself and the land. Whether you're seeking stillness, inspiration, or a digital detox, the yurt is a nurturing space for reflection, rest, and soul-centred living. 🛏 Inside the Yurt A comfortable queen air mattress with cozy linens A wood stove for warmth and ambiance (seasonal use) A dining area with cushion floor seating Soft lighting and calming decor A skylight dome perfect for stargazing at night or watching gentle daylight filter in The yurt is intentionally unplugged from wifi to support inner quiet and reconnection with nature. If, however, you really want wifi as part of your rental, just let us know! We admit that outdoor movies projected onto the yurt are super fun too! 🌿 Outdoor Features Private picnic area and fire pit (wood available upon request) Access to a quiet pond (kayaks and life jackets included) Just up the road: a dog park, tennis courts, playground, volleyball/badminton net, and a Saturday farmers market (summer months only) Please note: Swimming in the pond is at your own risk and not supervised. Life jackets must be worn when kayaking. 🐾 Pets Dogs are welcome with prior approval. Please keep them leashed and supervised at all times. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after pets. A lovely off-leash dog park is just minutes away!🛖 Yūgen Yurt – Sacred Space for Stillness & Stargazing Nestled at the bottom of a quiet hill, the Yūgen Yurt is a private, peaceful escape tucked away from the road and embraced by nature. With a view of the pond just beyond, this round, wood-framed sanctuary invites deep rest, quiet reflection, and a reconnection to life’s slower rhythm. Inspired by the Japanese concept of yūgen — the subtle beauty of mystery and depth — this space was created for those seeking stillness, healing, and soulful retreat. 🛏 Sleeping Arrangements: Comfortably sleeps two adults in a queen-sized bed The bed can be deflated and stored to make space for sleeping bags or floor bedding if preferred (need to bring your own) Additional tent camping options are available at select sites around the property for extra guests (by prior arrangement) 🛏 Inside the Yurt: Comfortable queen air mattress with cozy linens Wood stove for seasonal warmth Skylight for stargazing from bed Soft cushions and calming natural decor No Wi-Fi – intentionally unplugged to support rest and presence 🌿 Outside the Yurt: Fire pit and small table and chairs for slow mornings or evening fires Peaceful view of the pond, with kayaks and life jackets provided (Boat launch for the River only a couple minutes drive) Naturally sheltered and hidden from the road A short walk to local amenities: playground, dog park, tennis courts, and Saturday farmers market in summer The Yūgen Yurt is more than a place to stay — it’s a space to come home to yourself.

Cooking equipment present

Stovetop or hot plate, fridge, dishware, sink or other dishwashing station. There is a small sink with carboy drainage that needs to be monitored to ensure no overflow. There is a hot plate and a mini-fridge in the yurt. Please bring a camp stove for cooking outside. There are four sets of dishes, bowls, and cups/glasses, and utensils.
