First Hipcamper Club

Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.

Pitch your tent on the hilltop plateaus with lake and sunset views (zone 8 or 9). Or your Hammock in Zone 6 under the trees. Pit toilet available (zone 7). Power is available along with the use of the common deck and BBQ area in (zones 3 and; 4). Includes Outdoor Hot Shower Stall and Sink. Rent the Indoor loft space (zone 2), with 2x double air mattress, power, TV, fridge, dishes, air fryer, kettle, toaster, microwave, and hot plate. Power up your Van or RV (zone 1) with outdoor plugs, and park on the newly created flat drive area. For the more athletic, hike up to the cleared forest edge in zone 10 or get really rustic in zone 11 hike into the bush for some natural Bush floor camping. There is a table fire pit (propane) for you to use and enjoy responsibly; as Muskoka always has a fire ban on in the summer. There are 27 acres of beautiful Muskoka bush for you to explore and enjoy. If you’re feeling adventurous you can hike around the surrounding forest; stay within the property boundaries and you will discover the hydro cut and its valley view, the ravine, the waterfall, and a footpath that leads to a bridge at the back of the lot. Or simply just relax and enjoy the soundings and view from the sitting rocks. The public beach for swimming is a quick walk down Beach Road. It has a large dock, picnic tables, grassy area along with an portapotty. Or check out the sandbar and drop off at the boat launch at the end of the road. The lake has a diverse shoreline and perfect for small boats and kayaks. The waterfall across the Hydro line, or discover the footbridge at the south east of the property and follow the trails into the trail system. During Fall & Winter months there are NO amenities. The driveway isn't even plowed, so there's no parking available on site. It's a HIKE IN situation. Parking is a quick walk down the road at the public swimming beach on Beach Road with the boat launch at the end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I wanted to make it available for DAY use. Zone 9 - Tent Site - table/lights

Such a cute little spot and totally reasonable price! Sara was super responsive and helpful answering any questions. Not the best spot for someone with accessibility needs as there is a bit of a hill to get to most of the sites and the bathroom, but even as someone with slight mobility issues it was manageable. The view is gorgeous. Will definitely be returning.

Zone 9 - Tent Site - table/lights

Zone 9 has a really nice view of Long’s lake, and is quite a large space. The zone 9 campsite has several useful amenities such as power, picnic table, water for laundry, shower, and cooking. In terms of privacy, the zones are spread out from one another, but if it is booked full, it might be less private. The toilet is on the outskirts of one of the zones, so one would have to cut through another zone to get to the washroom. Several things could be better…location was a bit noisy being next to a highway and noise from the water sports at the lake. The upper zones could definitely use stairs to make trips with more gear easier to haul up to (I had a lot of stuff and the hill was steep and sand which made it really difficult). The sand also got into my tent and was not ideal. The toilet cabin was extremely small and not very practical for anyone over 6ft…i used the public toilet by the lake because it was easier to stand in and close the door. The instructions for power and water could have been more clear, and the line for hanging laundry definitely needs to be stronger than a cheap string - the string broke while I was doing laundry. Overall, not a bad place for camping…2.5 stars out of 5. certainly lots of potential, but needs work to be a 5 star experience.

We made a last minute stop, and glad we did! We arrived at sunset just in time to take in the gorgeous lake views. Clean, quiet and beautiful spot. Only thing I would change is the amount of time we got to spend here.

Zone 9 - Tent Site - table/lights

We loved camping at Sara's campsite! Sara was very responsive and helpful, and the site was a short walk from a beautiful little beach. Of note, the campsites are all up a steep hill which could make it challenging for those with mobility issues.

It was easy to find, unfortunately the ground for zone 1 isn’t level, which was a bit unfortunate. The place was a bit confusing, arriving after dark meant it was a bit challenging to navigate and find the map. In the morning we found the pit toilet which was good.

Zone 10 - Forest Edge Camp

Nice spot for hammock/tent camping. Cleared spots, along with very little underbrush. Hardest part is getting up the initial hill from the parking area. Shower was nice and easy to use and was refreshing with how hot it was when we were there. If visiting in July bring bug nets/spray. The mosquitoes are hungry. Sara gave good instructions for the site. We didn’t have any issues, just in and out.

Zone 11 - Bush Floor Camp

We enjoyed our stay at Sara’s camp and used it as a base for day trips in the area. Sara was super- responsive and was very helpful when we experienced some car issues. We enjoyed the short walk to the small public beach and dock and, also to the dog-friendly beach further along.

Zone 11 - Bush Floor Camp

I liked tent camping at Sarah’s camp ground. It had water supply . The campsite was a short drive from the lake. Instructions were clear. Good communication by the host !
