Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022.
I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life.
The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood.
Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest.
My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things.
The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.
Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

Canal Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada, situated in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
HISTORIC MONUMENTS
The "Hole in the Wall" bridge was built in 1905 and is also known as the Canal Lake Concrete Arch Bridge. It was designed by the federal Department of Railways and Canals. It is located on Centennial Park Road on the southwest side of the Trent Severn Waterway bridge, northeast of Bolsover. The bridge was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988.
FISHING
Canal Lake is a medium size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. There is a variety of fish available including largemouth bass, pike and muskellunge (muskie) and an abundance of panfish.

Enjoy our beautiful wilderness campsite that has a number of little amenities to make it feel a little more like glamping without the hefty price tag. We have an outdoor shower (solar heated), fire pit. Fire pit grill for cooking, twinkle lights and solar lighting for your comfort and convenience. You have acres right off your campsite to over 60 acres of rugged trails so wear some good boots ! This site can accommodate up to 6 people comfortably. One load of firewood provided - follow on wood is 7.00 a bag. We have many animals on site to visit before you check out, these include chickens, turkeys, duck, bunnies, cows, and many horses, including miniature ponies. Chairs also provided. Bring your own tent. We also offer light horseback riding at an extra fee.

Beautiful property with a few different spots to setup. We were just there for Springtide Music Fest so we were basically there to sleep at the end of the long music days. Great proximity to downtown. A more extended stay with No outhouse/water access wouldn’t be ideal but for our quick trip it worked perfect. Bob was very responsive and his son was helpful during our arrival to make sure we had everything we needed. 10/10 would recommend

I've stayed at Tranquil Ten a few times now as it's close to work and I commute a long distance. The land is expansive, secluded and very pastoral. Surrounded by trees and nature, it rivals a provincial park experience. Bob and Trish are lovely and very thoughtful hosts. On my most recent stay, they left a fire box with wood for me to enjoy a warm fire on a cool evening. It was an awesome experience. I look forward to more stays at Tranquil Ten.

I had a lovely stay! Renee was kind (even though I mistook her for another camper!) and understanding, and the place was exactly what I was looking for for this visit: quiet and all to myself!
