Offering a serviced camping site for tents for up to 4 persons, with a firepit, two hammock chairs, rustic toilet, cold (sun-warmed) shower in season, a large deck with bar-height table and two chairs, four lawn chairs, floating dock, garbage and recycling bins, canoe and private 1.5 acre lake! Parking is right at the campsite, following a 400m tractorway over grass. This tractorway enters and exits onto the county road independent of the host’s private home driveway. Our small, bio-diverse farm is in a quiet location but only 10km from shops and cafes. Our property is run with minimal chemical inputs. The lake supports fish, turtles, thousands of tree frogs in the spring, and musk rat, woodland ducks, and heron. You may also see rare bobolinks, barn swallows, and bats in summer. Star gazing is very good, there is very little light pollution. Tall poplar trees provide shade and shelter as well as pleasant sounds of the wind. Footwear is advised. Conditions underfoot are usually good, we do try to keep poison ivy in check but it does pop up here and there.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Riverside, which offers a spacious and private campsite with a short walk down a lovely path to the river. Riverside is a little piece of heaven nestled on the river just minutes from Godeeich and many local attractions. Shelby was a great host and accommodated all of our needs. I highly recommend this spot!

I very much enjoyed the quiet campsite beside the river, it had everything I needed. I had hoped to fish, but the water level was very low, so i just enjoyed cooking and reading beside the fire. I hope to return with my grandson when the water is higher next spring.

Second time staying here and just as wonderful as the first. Sara and Mark were available for any needs and are really friendly, they want you to really enjoy your time there. It shows from all of the extras they have set up, from free firewood to a 5gallon container of drinking water, well kept campsite, and hammock chairs to relax in. It's like a little peace of heaven.

Stayed at this site over the weekend and can't say enough about how peaceful it was. The hosts were kind and accommodating. Sarah and Mark thought of all the details one might need when camping. I didn't have to bring anything for the BBQ or campfire, it was all provided. 5 gallon water for drinking and washing dishes. Outhouse right at campsite. There is a pond with a canoe which was nice to use. Their dogs Honey and Maple stopped by for a visit on their walks, they are adorable! The campsite is at the back of their farm so you pass by ducks and horses along the way. They checked in through the stay to see if I needed anything. There are 2 hammock chairs which were great to relax on. Anyone looking for a relaxing, laid back time to refresh, this is the place. I will definitely return and recommend this place.

Always a pleasure to visit this spot, and to spend time with Honey and Maple. Chris and Sara are awesome and have always been what I would consider the top of the line kind of hosts. You could never ask for more and the value can not be beat and to find out we went there to celebrate my birthday to find out it was Sara's birthday legendary. If you haven't yet, get out to see Chris and Sara's spot.

We had such a wonderful stay at riverside. The area was peaceful and well-kept, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Shelby was a fantastic host—warm, welcoming, and attentive—and we even got to meet Mr. Fin, their sweet and friendly dog, which was a highlight of the trip. The port-a-potty was fairly clean, which is always appreciated when camping. Overall, this was a simple, quiet, and enjoyable camping experience. We’d happily come back again!

We had the best weekend at Shelley's Hawkins Retreat. Hawkins Retreat is situated in a wood lot surrounded by waving fields of corn. The two camping sites were beautifully maintained and located on trimmed grass each with a firepit and outhouse. Free firewood is thoughtfully provided. The Port Albert public beach on Lake Huron is 10 minutes away and quite lovely. Spent the day there and met a nice couple, Josh and Steph who it turned out were camping at the second Hawkins Retreat camp site. Wish we were there for longer and definitely plan to return someday soon. Thanks Shelley for a memorable weekend!

Matt was a wonderful host!! He met us at the site and shared some tidbits about the area. The sites were close but with the trees between them and how spacious they were it felt very secluded. The bathroom was a very clean portapotty not far from the camp. Some talked about the noise from the road, but it was very minimal and barely able to be heard over the sound of the wildlife.
