Located in the hamlet of Mosborough on 113 acres, this is a working farm with open fields, an old orchard, and 27 acres of forest. We are a short drive to Guelph Lake, the Elora Gorge, Guelph to Goderich rail trail, and a 25-minute drive to St Jacob's farmers market. And a 1.4 km walk to a small country market and bakery. A great site for families that you can call home and plan day trips around the area, or hang out at the campsite. Firewood is available for purchase on-site. We have 3 campsites that are spread out on 4 acres of grass. 1 site is used for temporary summer trailers, 2 are for camping. Pets are welcome, but keep them on a leash. Please remember to remove all garbage and recycling from campsites, a compost bin is available on site by the garden. A portable toilet is available from May 15 to the end of thanksgiving weekend in October. And please note that we are located beside an active rail line that is used by the Go Train, VIA Rail and freighters, there are trains that pass throughout the night. A 2 night stay is required for summer weekends. We look forward to hosting you!

There is access to several Grand River launch sites, many nearby hiking trails, and countless Mennonite farmers markets with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and preserves. This is a hidden Oasis just outside of the Waterloo and Guelph areas. There’s lots of other exciting things to do and see in the surrounding areas – great restaurants, breweries and wineries, golf courses, rivers, fishing, agri-tourism experiences, events and more. There is really something for everyone around here. We have a beautiful green acreage with a picturesque pond, next to Cox Creek and privacy with open and treed space and the promise of gorgeous sunsets almost every night. We have: - Fire pits, - Picnic tables, - Muskoka chairs, - A lovely composting toilet, - Firewood for sale, - Space for RVs, - Space for tents We DON'T have potable water on site. It was 1984 when John found his ‘diamond in the rough’, 20 acres with an orchard on the outskirts of Brantford. O.K., so the house was nothing to write home about but perfect for building a construction yard…no neighbors except for the family across the road that used their property to build log homes. By 1987 the old house was gone, a new one was being built and a shop for working on heavy equipment had been located about 200 ft. from Dr. the back door. It wasn’t until 1996 that things changed very much. Yes, the property around the house had benefitted from a wide array of trees and shrubs that John saved from the construction/demolition jobs he had done and that still thrive today but no big projects (except for equipment purchases) were ongoing. A chance meeting with the neighbor across the road one day resulted in the following dinner conversation, ‘How was your day’ I chirped. ‘Not bad, so-and-so didn’t come in; the truck broke down and I took it for repair; I bought the property across the road, and oh, yeah I’ll need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ was John’s casual reply. ‘What was that’? I pressed. ‘Yes, I need a ride after dinner to pick up the truck’ he repeated with a bit more volume. Of course like anyone, I had questions, ‘Do you want peas or corn with dinner’? ‘What time do you want to go to get the truck’? ‘The property across the road’, 10 acres, still has the 4 storey barn with its twin tiled silos which was built in 1914 and the big white house with wrap around porch that once was home to a Doctor and his family. Built so the Doctor could see his patients in the front with the family living in the back was very common in the day. Things remained relatively peaceful until 2000 when after studying alpacas for more than 6 years I bought our first three. Back in 2000 alpacas and llamas were not frequently seen on farms and because they could been seen from the road they received A LOT of attention. People driving by would stop and ask about them, ask if they could take a picture or two and that was when I would hear over and over again ‘You have a beautiful place here, I wish I/we could stay’. Well, if you want to visit and stay in the city it’s doable, we call it a hotel. But visiting a farm and staying well, that isn’t so easy. Each year we would see more and more families coming to ‘The Farm’ as they would call it. Some came to see the alpacas and horses, some came for a stroll and to check out the horse drawn milk and bread delivery wagons, some to have family birthday parties, others to have engagement/wedding/Christmas card pictures…and so many asked if there was any way they could spend a day or two. In 2021 during a conversation with a friend I mentioned we were in the process of gutting the 1100 sq. ft. space downstairs and turning it into an Airbnb! Right away she said, ‘I don’t know why you don’t have a Hipcamp? You’ve got that great area by the new barn that Hipcampers would love’! After a little investigation I found out what a Hipcamp was and the rest is history.

This is a secluded and quiet property tucked back off the road in the bush. Lots of room to roam, trees to relax under and let your dogs run. We have three dogs that roam the grounds and are a welcoming committee. We have lots of sites tucked into the greenery for privacy. We operate a vintage trailer restoration shop on site and have lots of interesting units around. There is firewood on property to purchase. We have a convenience station to wash dishes. Potable water and ice to purchase. We have showers outdoors with hot water. The newest addition to the property are two goats that think they are dogs and will greet you. We are on the boarder of a hiking trail that is accessible from the property. So if you’re looking for a hiking spot you can start here. Please message us for any special requests or questions you have. We are hosting a garage sale in coordination with the town of Wellesley June 6, 8am-1pm. There might be more visitors than usual that morning. If you’d like to come out for the sake you are more than welcome. Looking forward to a great camping season.

You will have access to clean water to swim in (no soaps or detergents in the pond please, we also swim in the pond regularly so we might see you in there, the pond is about 40 meters from our house, no fishing in the pond, no camping within 30 meters of the pond), clean water to drink + wash dishes in, lots of safe flat parking for cars and camper vans, lots of safe flat grass for tents, a giant forest, views of a few beautiful horses doing their own thing on our pastures (do not feed them or go within the fenced off horse areas), loads of birds, dragonflies, butterflies and more! We require quiet after 9pm, and before 9am. No excessive substance use please. No substance use if you are going to swim. Private simple camping toilet/outhouse setup with view of nature. Water for washing hands. No shower. Any garbage/recycling is your responsibility to clean up and take with you! Please do not leave any garbage for us to deal with! We moved here because we thought it was beautiful, and we hope to share that with others. We live here, and enjoy the water and land every day. Purchased in 1989, this small piece of heaven was developed by Peter & Suelaine Poot into a home for their family and beginning in 2003, a welcoming alpaca farm. The bush area has been used for camping by many local and visiting scouting groups over the years. In 2021, we joined Hip Camp and now allow others to enjoy the beauty, peace, and challenges of camping in our bush. The alpacas are a peaceful herd to watch as they graze their way through the day. Crias (baby alpacas), love to pronk and play in the pastures near their mothers. During May you may observe us shearing the alpacas. June is the birthing and breeding month. Camped in our small trailer with two dogs, great location feels far away from city- hosts are so welcoming and have well thought out space for campers. Great access to Bruce trail, starry nights, and all the sounds of the forest. Hosts went above and beyond helping us figure some things out with the camper. Enjoyed morning coffee, campfire and visiting with Kemp and Nancy.

I loved the space behind their home - a lot of open space with plenty of room to hang out and there’s a direct walking path to the Bruce Trail right from their property! I highly recommend their camping space!

The site was large enough for us to have 3 tents and a gazebo for all 10 of us campers to fit. Everyone of all ages enjoyed the archery and the adults enjoyed the axe throwing. The children had a great time and Annie and Mike were very quickly to respond. Will certainly be co.ing back again :)

Annie and Mike's Tiny Camper is a little oasis on a big piece of land! We rode the trails on our bikes, enjoyed the abundance of nature and appreciated the hospitality. Annie showed us around on her ATV our first day. What's a blast. A highlight was cooking up farm fresh eggs for our breakfast. We hope to be back and maybe check out their other campsites and cabins. A fantastic way to get out of the city and into nature without driving for hours!

we had a really great time! the property was really wonderful, in front of the water and the camper was perfect overnight. we also had a lot of fun with the axe throwing and bow and arrows. would come back in a heartbeat !

My wife and I loved camping in the tiny camper! Annie and Mike were very accommodating and informative, they responded quickly to our questions. The area is very spacious and private, and pets are allowed. My dog Comet loved it! Tips for the site: The fire pit is deep, you have to get down there if you are keen in arranging your firewood so don't bring shoes you don't want to ruin. Do not put stuff that could break by the pillows/foot area as they can fall out of the camper. Other than that, I recommend camping here! Enjoy!
