We loved camping at Ronald’s place. Very quiet and secluded. We only stayed overnight, but had the choice of his space which was fun to navigate in our SUV (if you have air suspension would recommend to jack it up for better ground clearance!). Thanks for having us!

Weekend Trip to Winimusett Farm

A friend and I stayed here over the weekend in mid-November. We enjoyed our trip, the cabin is cozy, and Misty was very communicative and helpful! The directions were thorough, and we had no problem using the cabin. Outside temperature was ~28-45°F, but the wood stove was very effective and the cabin became very toasty. One thing to note is that the solar-powered battery banks had little charge. The string lights only worked for 20 minutes on our first night, and their battery banks did not recharge the next day. The large solar-powered battery bank that powered the lamp in the corner had only about 6 hours of charge. We're guessing that the weak fall sun, combined with cloudy conditions, meant these battery banks didn't fully charge. This might be something to consider when packing for a fall/winter trip. We're glad we brought flashlights, a rechargeable lamp, and some pillar candles. We also brought our own kitchen supplies; not sure what to expect, but there were plenty of utensils, cookware, etc., even if we hadn't brought our own. The floor needed a little sweep when we arrived, but everything else was clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

We had a cozy stay at the Just Be cabin. We arrived after dark and the trail to the cabin was well lit and easy to find. Stacey took the time to build a fire in the woodstove before we arrived so the cabin was very warm, and it was easy to keep warm throughout the evening. For a small cabin it felt very spacious. Really appreciated getting to stay at this sweet retreat!

The horses and dogs were very nice. The property is pretty. Kathy was very responsive, even though it's a working farm there was never really any noise outside except the dogs doing what dogs 🐕 do.

This a is an amazing place. So private with amazing open field and astonishing sky and star view. We went there once and then reserved it for three other weekends again. In my next review I’ll share some amazing images as well. It provide free fire wood 🪵 which is another great option at this location. This was the best camp site ever for us.

The very best thing about our night here was the loaf of fresh sourdough bread we preordered. Delicious!! Exceptional flavor and texture. The site was great too. Very private, level enough we didn’t need leveling blocks for our van. Beautiful spot.

When you’ve reached your max of Vitamin D, take a dip in one of the rock formations natural pools and stroll back to camp along a trail of small cascades. Granville State Forest is as remote as it gets in Massachusetts. Bordering Connecticut’s 9152 acre Tunxis State Forest, this 2426 acres forest feels like it goes on forever. Historically used by the Tunxis Tribe for hunting and fishing, and then as farmland, this wilderness area is now back again to it’s original hardwood conifer state. Come stay at the forested campground for some R&R and leave feeling recharged!

Granville Campground

This campground is ok. It's a long drive into the woods with not a lot around. And that was just fine. There is no place to dispose of garbage so be prepared to haul it. There are no places nearby to buy supplies. You will have to drive at least 15 miles. Also, I concur that any of the sites along the road are terrible (e.g. sites 3-5). The road is a main road and is very noisy. There are bathrooms and showers (one per bathroom.) They are mostly clean. And there is a place to get water and to wash your dishes. Sites 3 & 4 are not even separated by trees. I can't speak to the other sites. This campground has a zero-tolerance alcohol policy. Therefore, if you go to Granville, be sure to take the policy seriously.
