Come stay in a real bed in a luxurious bell tent on our 8-acre organic herb farm. The tent is secluded but close to the blooming herb fields, with a dreamy view of the nearby hills. A spacious composting toilet and potable water from a spigot are charming, rustic, and perfect for folks who want to camp but with some amenities. Nearby swimming holes, lakes, farm stands, and hiking opportunities abound. A beautiful wooded trail runs from our property to the neighboring Edge Hill Conservation Area. We have a smokeless fire pit and chairs for you to kick back, roast marshmallows, and relax. Firewood, organic bedding, farm tours, and PYO herbs are all available add-ons while you stay. This spacious (for a) bell tent is about a hundred feet away from eight acres of elderberry orchard and medicinal herb fields but neatly hidden away up against the forest for privacy. A beautiful composting toilet is a short walk away, and at night, you’ll be serenaded by crickets, tree frogs, owls, and sometimes coyotes in the distance. Great for star-gazing, bathing in nature, and weekends away from the screen. Down the hill near the greenhouse, potable water is available from a spigot, and a smokeless fire pit by the tent can be used to make fires. A mile long public hiking trail that begins on the property brings you out to the Edge Hill Conservation Area. While you’re in town, take a swim in Ashfield Lake or the natural waterfalls at Chapel Falls. We’re a five minute drive from Ashfield center and about 15 minutes from the charming village of Shelburne Falls. The tent features a natural latex mattress enclosed in a hypoallergenic organic bamboo mattress cover, a quilt to set up your bedding on top of, and two sham pillows. If you need sheets and pillows, we have an organic/hypoallergenic set that we can set up for you (see add-ons). Outside the tent, we have a smokeless fire ring and lawn chairs for your enjoyment. Note that during the day, farm crew and PYO farm members will be about 200 feet away, though the tent is mostly not visible from the fields. We are a working herb farm. During the summer, the farmers sleep in a matching tent about 500 feet away but out of sight. We have two dogs who live on the farm who are friendly but can sometimes bark, which means this is probably not a good place to stay if you are not comfortable with dogs. We wish we could welcome your furry friends as well, but as one of our pups is dog-selective, we sadly ask that you leave your own dogs at home for the comfort and safety of all. Other Information: - Please bring any extra bedding you need to be comfortable - Bring all your own camping needs such as cook stoves, food, biodegradable soap etc. - No electricity or wifi, but there is usually phone service (not always 5G) in the fields - No dogs, thank you
