In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside Carson, Washington, it is home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, & chickens. Deer & elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or short drive) to the Wind River & a swimming hole, & a short distance further is the Pacific Crest Trail. A 20-minute drive & you're at the Columbia River. An hour to the West is Portland if you are in the mood for some city life, & 35 minutes east is Hood River, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River. Also in close proximity are amazing waterfalls, trails, & National Forest roads that are close by & well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property. Keep in mind that the property is very rugged except for the trails we have provided to access other parts of the property. We are as off grid & sustainable as possible- while no electricity or running water is available at the individual sites, we provide battery or solar operated lighting, & a container of water for each site.

We had the best time in the forager site! The room was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. We had a big storm come through the night of our stay and the hosts were super hospitable and brought us a backup power bank. The heater blankets on the bed were a great touch too! Kelly and Randy were so attentive and sweet!! We had such an incredible weekend and I’m so thankful they shared their space and sweet animals with us. Don’t skip out on the fresh farm egg breakfast and playing fetch with Boone. Our favorite goats were Milo and chance, special mention to lavender the chicken. This weekend was such a special memory for us and I’m thankful we spent my partners birthday here. We will be back for sure :)

This place was the perfect getaway—quiet, peaceful, and right by the river. We stayed in the geodome and loved the cozy wood-burning fireplace. The river was just a short walk away, making it easy to relax by the water. On clear nights, the star views were incredible—some of the best we’ve seen. We also appreciated having different cooking options, whether over the campfire or using the propane stove. The off-grid toilet was simple and convenient to use, and the privacy of the space allowed our dog to roam off leash, which made the trip even better. A wonderful spot for anyone looking to unplug and enjoy nature in comfort!

Kelly's Geo-dome was exactly as advertised. There were heaters inside, which we used this morning. My friend Darcy characterized it as, "better than glamping." The power shut off last night after we were already in for the night so it didn't impact us. This morning, we easily got the power back on. There were very friendly dogs and also goats with whom we didn't interact. We will definitely be back next!

We simply loved our stay at Kelly's place! Everything was incredible, from the fully-equipped dome with comfortable furniture and all the amenities, cutlery and accessories one could wish for (it even had Sonos bluetooth speaker) to the care and attention to details of the host who was so kind to bring us daily fresh farm egg breakfast, and to the extensive activities opportunities nearby - disk golf, axe throwing, soccer and more! But above all, you the views were simply astounding, with picturesque sights of the river and the plains and unbeatable sunsets

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary

Came here for the weekend, was given suggestions to some amazing food, swimming holes and hikes. The dome was an amazing site with lots of room inside, comfortable beds and such nice energy. Woke up morning of to leave and had a flat. I didn’t have the right tools to get my lugs off and One of the family members of the property took two hours of his own time to help us find the right tools to get car back up and on the road. I cannot be more grateful to the family of this property and the enjoyment their land has given us this weekend

My wife and I had a fantastic time camping in the Ohm Dome! We stayed mid-week in late August, and practically had the entire area to ourselves. The site, and property, are filled with gorgeous oak trees, a fun garden, and the soothing sound of the river. Our dog, Newman, enjoyed exploring the area and playing fetch. We were provided a nice battery which powered our plug-in air mattress as well as powering lights and devices. We also had access to a near-private river beach (after a decent walk). Definitely want to stay here again!

3 nights at Waterfall Sanctuary

We visited Waterfall Sanctuary and stayed in the Dome with our two toddlers and dog. We had a fantastic stay and can’t wait to come back again! The kids LOVED the goats and animals, fairy garden, exploring the huge property and trails, and even watched some of a movie in the movie room when we needed a break! A lovely swimming hole is a 2min drive away, and we loved the waterfall hikes in the area. Tyla was an amazing host and available for questions and assistance throughout our stay, including very inexpensive rental of some items we forgot! Highly recommend for a really fun family adventure!

My husband and I stayed 2 nights for our 15th wedding anniversary and it couldn't have been more perfect! The dome itself was amazing and had everything you could need. A lot of thought and effort went into it! But the cherry on top for us was the animals! Boone was there to greet us with his ball and kept watch over us our whole stay. The views are amazing day and night! We loved feeding/petting the chickens and goats too! Even had a deer hang out with us all day at camp! Just an amazing, perfect experience all around! My family and I really enjoyed our time in the ohm dome. Such a lovely spot and an easy walk to a perfect small sandy beach. The composting toilets were in good shape and we appreciated the water for dishwashing. My nephew had fun building fires and testing out the acoustics! No joke about needing AWD getting in, but that was part of the adventure.

We LOVED the dome and our own little secret campground hidden off the side of Dom’s place. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. When you set foot inside the secret garden, it feels like you’re deep in the woods somewhere, when in reality you are living the best of both worlds with a perfect campsite that is IN Portland. You can switch seamlessly between relaxing in nature off grid and then go down the road to enjoy city life. Not to mention you get to stay in a very cool dome with a clear paneled half that makes for some good stargazing. A true hidden gem!

Where to go

Beacon Rock State Park

Travel to Beacon Rock State Park to hike Beacon Rock Trail—a 1.8-mile loop up Beacon Rock. The rock is an 848-foot basalt column featuring switchbacks and views of the Columbia River Gorge. Then, set up shop along the Columbia River shoreline, where campers can find standard campsites, full hookups, and horse camping available. Enjoy fishing, paddling, or swimming steps away from camp. Despite seasonal closures at the main campground, primitive and equestrian sites are open year-round. A Discover Pass is required to enter the park, or a day-use fee can be paid at one of the park’s automated machines.

Columbia Hills Historical State Park

Dramatic cliffs and petroglyphs pave the way for an epic stay at Columbia Hills Historical State Park. Featuring four unique areas, Columbia Hills blends desert-like terrain with lush vegetation. Campers can explore Native American pictographs and petroglyphs at Horsethief Lake—one of the largest concentrations in the Pacific Northwest. Then, find standard campsites, partial hookups, hiker/biker campsites, and rustic cabins on the grounds, along with one restroom and a dumping station. Note that the campground runs on a first-come, first-served basis and fills up quickly in spring.

Gifford Pinchot National Forest

The Pacific Crest Trail, Ape Cave lava tube, and Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument are just some of the natural attractions at Gifford Pinchot National Forest. It hosts over 1.3 million acres of dense forests, deep valleys, mountain peaks, and waterfalls. Cabin rentals, dispersed camping, and RV campsites with a range of hookup options, firepits, and picnic tables offer a chance for campers to stay and play. Seasonal activities like summertime swimming and winter snowmobiling draw campers in year-round.
