Crown Point Camp is the perfect gorge base camp on the Western edge of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, a Gateway to hiking, biking, kayaking, windsurfing and many other Adventures! Our camp is right off the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Highway just minutes away from Portland Women's Forum and Crown Point, the Jewel of the Columbia. Our facilities include an outdoor shower, a solar-powered composting toilet, fresh water, fire pits, and plenty of flat ground surrounded by trees for excellent camping! Please read this whole message so you are not surprised when you get here! Note: The use of the sauna, hot tub, and composting toilet are only for Glamp bookings! The campsites and tipi use the port-a-potty and have the use of an on-demand outdoor shower, which is free of charge. Our home and farm is on two acres. Your tent site, is all in our ample acreage. Although pets are welcome, we expect them to be well-behaved around our two cats, our own big sweetie of a pup, Frejya, our two crazy goats Cupcake and Muffin, and our free-ranging chickens. Expect to hear some animal noises here on the farm. Our property literally borders the scenic highway. Because we are so close, you can hear the sunset-view-seeking drivers, motorcycle riders, and yes, racers who come out this way for a spin on one of the most scenic highways in the world. Crown Point Tipi Camp is not quite a glamp, but much more than a campsite! This is a brand new 20' Nomadics Tipi made in Bend, OR. With a solid wood floor and a Full sized bed on frame with a foam pad only / no bedding is included, a propane campfire pit, a camp table, camping chairs, floor mats, electricity, and solar lights. Bring your own bedding or sleeping bags! Warning ~ if it is raining it will be damp, even though there is a rain cap in place above the tipi, the smoke flaps are not 100% rain proof. Wish we had more time to spend on the farm. Very peaceful. Tipi was roomy and the hot outdoor shower was awesome! Ellen gave us some great recommendations and a tour. If we are ever in Oregon again we will be back!

Amazing hosts! Like all reviews the highway can be a little loud, but it is in a great location. Bring pillows and maybe extra blankets when staying in the tipi! Can get cold at night :)

Booked it on the fly while driving. Nice responsiveness. The unit was private, quiet, and had everything we needed for an overnight. We even bought yummy homemade bread, fresh eggs, and butter from the host who had all in the unit ready for us.

Great Tipi
Crown Point Tipi Camp
Nice host. Met me at the site to show me around and explain things. Stayed in the beautiful tipi, it was huge and really nice, made with organic cotton! Didn't expect that, but pleasantly surprised. Had a sink nearby and an outdoor shower, which I always love. Found out that the waterfall trolley, which I wanted to take, had pickup stops nearby within walking distance, which would have been fun had the weather cooperated. A lot of scenic viewpoints nearby. Only issue was, as he mentioned, the noise level from the adjacent street and the neighboring tent site. Not that they were doing anything wrong, just being a big family having fun until 11ish pm and in the morning; but being so close to my site, it was a bit extra. Oh yeah, and extra....those darn rooster wake up calls all morning! So nice place to stop, but beware if you're a light sleeper, as others noted.

Halfway point of our road trip
Crown Point Glamp
Such a great halfway point for our trip to relax and take a break. Never felt more comfortable in strangers backyard. Rick and Ellen are both so welcoming. Plenty of amenities that they encourage you to use. Pets come and say hello as well. Great suggestions for local spots too. Little background noise, that some marijuana easily took care of for a good night sleep.

Lovely campsite just outside of Portland. Comes with a fire pit, picnic table, shared toilet, and fresh water. It was very peaceful with chickens milling about in the pen nearby. Felt very private. Would stay here again!

Rick's glamping spot was an amazing getaway for our 1-year wedding anniversary. Had everything we needed for a little weekend stay. The hot tub and sauna were amazing additions and we'll definitely suggest this spot to any friends needing a weekend away from Portland. Also, their dog Freyja was a true sweetheart!

The camping spots are right on top of each other so don’t expect any privacy. Shower stayed hot for maybe 3 minutes. The road noise was so loud, not just cars but people revving up their engines constantly.

We really enjoyed the beautiful tipi, the lovely spot, and proximity to so many wonderful attractions. The hot outdoor shower, sink and fresh eggs were much appreciated! Yes, by the busy road, but not a bother for us. We liked popping out to the nearby fruit and bakery stands. Great spot—we look forward to coming back.

Enjoyed the hospitality and being somewhere that felt relaxing and pleasant. Yes, like other reviews there’s cars and a dog at night barking so bring ear plugs. Other than that, my dog and I had a superb time and hope to return! Thank you Rick for being so kind!

The owners are so kind and showed me around on arrival and let me know where to find what I needed. The site is near the historic Hwy 30 and there is some noise during the day, but the night was quiet. There were rabbits and chickens and ample space to lounge around!

Rick was super kind and helpful. We only got to stay for a short time but it was still perfect. He was super responsive and helpful. We enjoyed the Tipi- but be prepared to get friendly with some spiders!

This space was wonderful and I would love to stay there again. The bed was super soft, you might roll into each other but that was good for us 💗 the kitchen was setup well and very convenient. The shower was great. We didn't get a chance to use the hot tub or sauna unfortunately and will have to next time. The road was a little noisy but not unlike many campsites. Electricity and coffee provided made this the ultimate glamping spot. Rick and his partner were wonderful and kind. I couldn't be happy with my stay. It was also our anniversary and they left us a beautiful bouquet of flowers with happy anniversary letter. I felt at peace there.

Rick & Ellen are awesome... nice area.. the barking dogs (neighbors) and air traffic isnt the best for a good nights sleep. ; but w. earplugs & a fan you'll survive. ; *(seriously, even in the country Ppl are so rude to not kp their dogs inside or train them! MILES of people shouldn't have to deal w. your out of control muts... ; l

Crown Point Tipi Camp
Camping in the tipi was great for a slightly drizzly night early in the season. The propane fire pit is a nice touch, however you may need to bring a lighter to start it, which we did not have. It was nice waking up to the sound of birds. Rick was helpful and easy to communicate with. Be aware that there is significant road noise from the highway nearby, specifically semi trucks engine braking as they go down the hill.

If the tent sites are not reserved then I’d recommend this tipi, otherwise there may not be enough privacy or room to move around outside. I did not feel comfortable using the shower as a woman traveling on her own since it is outside. I also would have felt more secure if I was able to “lock” or secure the tipi door somehow, so just something to be mindful of if you’re traveling alone. The road noise was also a bit disruptive to sleep through. Besides that, the property was lovely and so was the tipi although just be aware that there is a vent at the top of the tipi so small critters can go in and out (I saw a few daddy long legs near my bed). Great site, super clean, and the shower was a huge plus! The propane fire pit was so nice and cozy. I wish I could have stayed longer. Remember bedding, plus earplugs for the roosters, the road, and a neighbor dog (who barked late into the night)!

Rick's Hipcamp spot was perfect - it was absolutely centrally located for exploring the Columbia River Gorge - literally minutes away from some of the most beautiful waterfalls ever. Rick was super responsive and greeted me and showed me around. To have access to a private outdoor shower, a potable water sink and a very clean toilet was great for camping. Would absolutely stay again!

We had an amazing stay! The yurt was perfect and had all the amenities we needed, plus a super comfy king sized bed! The hosts were very kind and helpful. And the sauna and hot tub were the cherries on top! Would definitely come back :)
