Great spot! We just needed one night sleeping arrangement last minute. Dom was super accommodating and prepped the space for us. The bed was comfortable and clean with AC. A fun concept to rest and hangout! Safe and easy to find. For lunch/breakfast we went to Cherry Hill Deli! Super recommended European bakery, deli and goods store nearby.

Gorgeous stay! The property is peaceful, quiet and so lush. Lots of signs with directions, easy access to the porta-potty, and a sink with potable water. The cabin is very cute and comfortable 🩷 we opted to get the extra bedding with pillows and it was totally worth it. The river access is lovely. We also enjoyed the picnic table, the fire pi,t and the little lamps available inside the cabin. We would love to come back with friends next time!

Tyla's tiny cabin was a perfect home base for our hiking holiday weekend! The large king size bed was great, and the hot shower at the end of a long day outside was a luxury. The toilets were kept clean all weekend. We could hear the neighboring sites here and there but all of our fellow campers were very respectful so the noise never disrupted our peaceful stay. It was so relaxing taking a post-hike nap with the sun streaming in the cabin windows, falling asleep to the birdsong and goats bleating and the rooster crowing. The path up to the cabin felt steep after a long day on your feet but it was worth it for the additional privacy. The space was intimate but just big enough for two adults, our medium sized dog, and all of our hiking gear. Highly recommended as a base camp for your outdoor adventures!

It was awesome. Tyla was super accommodating. Makes sure you have or have access to anything you might need (water,wood,shower,coffee,etc) The site itself was awesome, well kept. Unique and comfortable. It was a Perfect little getaway for our family trip. Stargazer has a big wide open site surrounded by trees but enough space for the family to move around and enjoy themselves. She immediately gave us a printout of all the recommended nearby local spots, so we were able to make plan out the rest of our time around it. We decided to go on the hike to Falls Creek Falls. It was amazing. 5 mile round trip hike but it’s nothing crazy, mostly flat ground, our 4 year old was able to do it. Way worth it.

The retreat is an indoor/outdoor experience as there are two walls that feature beveled shutters that open and the roof is a see through experience to watch the birds, wildlife and stars. There is a small cabinet outfitted with slippers to slip on and take the path to the garden pergola - the swinging twin bed or the main house. NON-NEGOTIABLE RULES: PACK IN PACK OUT: We do not have trash or recycling bins down in the creekside campground so please keep your waste contained and take it with you when you leave. Please do not throw any trash in the porta-potties. 4WD/AWD REQUIRED PAST THE BARN: The steep gravel roads can be tough for some cars and rigs (particularly on the way out) and consequently, can cause a lot of damage to our roads. So for everyone's safety, we have restricted access to only vehicles with 4WD or AWD only. Please do not message us asking us to advise on the vehicle you have. If someone in your party has a 2WD vehicle, they can park up in the entry lot and get shuttled down to the campsites in a 4WD vehicle. DOG FRIENDLY: We are as dog friendly as it gets here. Unleashed dogs are allowed on this property down by the creek (on-leash required in and around the barn). If you have a fear of dogs, or have dogs that are not friendly with other people or fellow dogs, this probably isn't the right campground for you. Of course, we expect all dog owners to keep an eye on their pets so they don't disturb other campers or ingest anything they're not supposed to. QUIET HOURS: 10pm-9am. We ask that guests keep the noise (loud music and loud conversations) to a minimum between 10pm and 9am. We live onsite and will enforce these if we have to (please don't make us). NO FIREARMS, FIREWORKS OR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE USE. This is not a late night party campsite. In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside Carson, Washington, it is home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, & chickens. Deer & elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or short drive) to the Wind River & a swimming hole, & a short distance further is the Pacific Crest Trail. A 20-minute drive & you're at the Columbia River. An hour to the West is Portland if you are in the mood for some city life, & 35 minutes east is Hood River, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River. Also in close proximity are amazing waterfalls, trails, & National Forest roads that are close by & well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property. Keep in mind that the property is very rugged except for the trails we have provided to access other parts of the property. We are as off grid & sustainable as possible- while no electricity or running water is available at the individual sites, we provide battery or solar operated lighting, & a container of water for each site.

Burro Burrow Burrough Wall Tent

Our canvas wall tent sits in a quiet private forest site adjacent to the Washougal River with our own private swimming hole and riverside sauna. This is the perfect place to unwind and disconnect. We have tried to think of everything so that you don't have to. Our goal is that you can come here with minimal prep and enjoy your stay, focusing instead on relaxation, cooking a good meal, enjoying the river and your time alone or together. In addition to the many wild birds and deer and river life that can be seen on our property, we have a small farm that is home to 4 rescued miniature burros (donkeys), chickens and ducks. A visit with our animals can be arranges when you arrive. Here are some details about our cabin: -Maximum of 4 people and 2 cars -This an off- the grid set up with no running water, electricity or wifi but there are solar lights, drinking and washing water, and a wifi connection nearby if needed. - The. tent cabin is 360sq ft with a wood floor, 1 kingsize bed, and a custom made sectional couch that converts to a second king sized sleeping area. -All linens, bedding, extra blankets, towels, drinking/washing water and firewood is provided. -There is a composting bathroom within a few feet of the cabin. If you have never used one, don't worry, they are very easy to use and don't smell :) -Covered outdoor kitchen area including a 2 burner propane stove and all the basic kitchen necessities. Guests need to bring a cooler with ice for their food but should not need any other kitchen supplies. - A fire pit with benches sits in front of the tent and firewood is provided. Note that if there is a county burn ban in Summer you will not be able to have a fire during that time. -Small indoor dining table and Large outdoor picnic table. Books, board games and art supplies are available. -A small cast iron wood stove inside keeps it warm through the colder months. Firewood is provided. A hammock is a few feet away under a green canopy of trees -The Washougal river is generally around 45-55 degrees in Spring and Fall and 65-75 degrees in Summer and can fluctuate quickly with shifts in the weather. - The beach is for use durning summer months only as the water levels can quickly fluctuate during the wetter seasons. -Our 7' diameter cedar barrel sauna sits on the riverside a short walk away. A giant bubble window gives an unobstructed view of the river and all that passes by. This is a wood fired sauna, and shared with our other rental so we book times separately to ensure a private experience. If you would like to use the sauna during your stay, you can add "sauna service" at check out. Prior to, or at check in we will arrange your 2 hour session(s) (one time fee, one session/ night booked) and have everything hot and ready for you. The river makes for a perfect cold plunge and contrast therapy with the sauna and is fantastic in spring and fall. The sauna is not suitable for children. -A time to visit with our mini burros and other animals can be arranged at check in. No shoes in the tent or in the sauna, a pair of slip on shoes is recommended and river shoes are nice to have in the summer. -No pets please. -No commercial photography of any kind without prior agreement. Each campsite is tucked in the woods and has access our communal fire pit at our gathering space. Our well water tastes amazing! The is not a developed campground, it is our home. We see ourselves as stewards of this hidden forest gem and welcome people to enjoy its beauty. We are avid campers and recently spend 9 months in our teardrop trailer off grid on public lands. Living here we are three family members, one renter and short term volunteer traveler workers. We all work from home, Arehn a spiritual life coach, who loves to cook, Jim a software engineer and disc golfer, son Ian, software engineer and writer and Zuzu, forest fire fighter and logger lives in a separate apartment on the property.

Secluded private site centrally located just a mile from Interstate 5, and 6 miles from the Interstate 5 / Hwy 205 intersection so most places in Clark County are less that 20 minutes away. Located 10 minutes from ilani Casino, 5 minutes from the Clark County Fairgrounds and amphitheater, and less than 30 minutes from some of the nicest freshwater lakes around. Hosts are avid Flyboarders, Jetskiers, Paraglider Pilots, and Stuart has been climbing since the late 1900's (1974 and up... back in the era where if it couldn't be nailed it couldn't be climbed). This is a secluded, Park Like property with walking trails all the way around it, and some interesting things for kids to spot, especially up Fairy Lane. Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids. In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and plese USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. If you are one of those who just tosses your butts in the underbrush, you will be asked to leave for the safety of our property and guests. There is no smoking allowed inside the cabin, bathroom, or anywhere near the sawmill, or any area North of it. There is an active sawmill onsite IES-Sawmill.com. People are welcome to visit, but equipment has the right of way and may not see you. Please avoid the log decks, and especially don't allow children to play on them, as logs can roll at any time. Some of the equipment is big, heavy, and doesn't have the greatest visibility if people walk up un-noticed. Always ensure that the operator sees you, and don't place yourself anywhere where a log that comes loose could run you down. Operating Equipment always has the right of way. There is a climbing wall on the North side of the machine shop. If you are an experienced climber with a partner to belay you can the appropriatte gear, you are welcome to use the wall, please let us know first. If the hosts have time, you may be able to convince them to give you a lesson. We are changing the anchors on our ziplines, so they are not available for use at this time. There is a public bathroom in the middle of the property beside the tree fort. It's well lit and open 24 hours a day. It has a flush toilet and a cold water sink and COLD water shower. The water comes out of the ground year round at about 60 degrees so it's a chilly shower. If you need a hot shower, renting the cabin is your best bet as it comes with a private bath that has a hot shower. We try to keep rules to a minimum, but people seem to find creative ways to cause issues. Please park outside the yellow gate in the parking areas noted on the map. Please park on gravel and DON'T DRIVE OFF THE GRAVEL ROADS ONTO THE GRASS. Anita hates it, as you can cause a fire in the summer, and leave muddy ruts in the wet seasons. If you're driving through the trees, you're doing something wrong. There is plenty of wildlife on the property especially in the couple hours before dark. The campsites and tipi use the port-a-potty and have the use of an on-demand outdoor shower. Our home and farm is on two acres. Your tent site, is all in our ample acreage. Although pets are welcome, we expect them to be well-behaved around our two cats, our own big sweetie of a pup, Frejya, our two crazy goats Cupcake and Muffin, and our free-ranging chickens.
