Tucked away in the woods, you will forget you are less than a ten-minute drive from Portland and Beaverton. You will feel as if you are in a forest on Mount Hood, and yet, just minutes away, is all the best the area has to offer. From Northwest Portland with wonderful and trendy restaurants and eateries like Salt and Straw to Voodoo Donuts, the waterfront, and Washington Park.
From the balcony, you may see golden and bald eagles, huge owls, woodpeckers, garden snakes, coyotes, deer, chipmunks, rabbits, and squirrels. Here, it is a place of peace, of quietude. No parties or loud music etc.
Currently I'm offering one occomdation, The Old Barn, as my other spots are being rented out by long term renters. Please do not explore the property. Just enjoy the solitude and view from the Old Barn. Pets are allowed but must be leashed.

GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family.
The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6).
Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep.
Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! Your experience will certainly be unique to the season.
Your host Jim Toler represents the fifth generation of the farm and will happily share stories of the farm and it's history.

A tiny pellet stove keeps you cozy and warm on the deck. (Note - the pellet stove can not be used during burn bans).
Inside: The Treehouse has a luxurious queen-size bed with a memory foam mattress in a lovely upstairs loft. Soft cozy sheets and plenty of warm blankets have been provided for you to snuggle up in. In the main room you can cozy up with a good book or game (several are provided for your enjoyment) or just enjoy each other’s company on the comfy love seat. There is a charming “Kitchenette” area where a stunning rock sink with non-potable water can be used to rinse dishes or wash your face. A variety of teas, hot chocolate and a French press are provided along with fresh water for drinking. Pots, Pans and a kettle are provided for use on the deck camp stove. A propane heater keeps you cozy and warm inside.
The Treehouse is off-grid so there is no TV or Wi-fi to distract you from the wonderful surroundings. Limited Power is provided by rechargeable batteries. You will have about 7-8 hours of power per day. If you run several things at once, including the lights, the batteries will run down faster so use it sparingly. If you run out of batteries a lantern is provided as back up along with a couple headlights to help you navigate to the outhouse. NOTE: The only cook source is the bbq outside on the deck.

We very much enjoyed staying on Barry's land. Was peaceful and secluded. We had a wonderful run in with assistant Peter, who told us about Steve, but Steve was elusive during our stay. The walk to the bathroom was a trek on uneven land yet I found it a fun challenge. Maybe in the future we will try out one of the other accommodations on his property. Thanks for the stay.

This treehouse was so fun for our weekend family trip! It’s a bit of a walk to get there, but such a cute setup. So nice to have a toilet, sink and shower with warm water!

Incredible. Memorable. Picturesque. Camping & exploring, for all ages!!!
Five stars, triple AAA, two thumbs up for any family wanting a safe, educational, fun camping experience. Our family of six includes a set of curious (mischief finding) 6yr old twins, a 10yr old girl who just loves to run and play and learned she also loves feeding sheep, and our 14yr old who couldn’t resist the charm and excitement of sleeping in the treehouse.
Jim is a gracious communicator, making sure all of our pre-arrival questions were answered. He greeted us on arrival making sure we knew he was available and then gave us all the space and quiet we could want. Our kids had an absolute blast between the friendly sheep, the swing, and orchards — they only stopped playing to eat and sleep! We felt completely at ease letting them roam free.
No doubt, we stumbled across an absolute GEM of Oregon’s; rich with history, with tons to explore, see and taste!

No surprises! Directions were specified so that it was easy enough to get there past dark. Hot tub was amazing both during the day and at night. Quiet with Mountain View slightly down the road. Overall it was an extremely pleasant weekend ☺️

Beacon Rock State Park
Travel to Beacon Rock State Park to hike Beacon Rock Trail—a 1.8-mile loop up Beacon Rock. The rock is an 848-foot basalt column featuring switchbacks and views of the Columbia River Gorge. Then, set up shop along the Columbia River shoreline, where campers can find standard campsites, full hookups, and horse camping available. Enjoy fishing, paddling, or swimming steps away from camp. Despite seasonal closures at the main campground, primitive and equestrian sites are open year-round. A Discover Pass is required to enter the park, or a day-use fee can be paid at one of the park’s automated machines.
Columbia Hills Historical State Park
Dramatic cliffs and petroglyphs pave the way for an epic stay at Columbia Hills Historical State Park. Featuring four unique areas, Columbia Hills blends desert-like terrain with lush vegetation.
