Where our farm now rests was once the second of many logging camps built by Ed English, and he cut our gravel farm road in 1900; a railroad ran through the lower part of our property, taking logs from Lake Whatcom down to the little boom town of Seattle. Our intention while being caretakers of this ancestral land is to restore native plants, raise heirloom produce and heritage animals, and provide a restful nature paradise for people looking to spend time in the outdoors.

Or if you feel like a drive, head to Winthrop for the day and walk the town. Fishing can be done right at the site or a short walk to the point. The Group Camp features a huge central wood fire pit with cooking grill, and 7 adirondack chairs/2 side tables that overlook the river. The large custom outdoor kitchen (cold water) is perfect for meal prep and easy clean up. There is also a 3 burner propane stove (propane provided) . Two-8' picnic tables and a 3' X 4' serving/buffet table give plenty of seating for meals. Just minutes away you can walk to the river on a private trail. During the summer months there is typically a long sandbar. You will find stunning views in every direction with partial shade under towering cottonwoods. For safety purposes, a camp fire is allowed only in the provided fire pit. This site has space for 2 recreational vehicles (20' or less) or up to 3 tents. Current COVID restrictions apply for group size/composition. Our family has great respect for the beauty and power of the river. Care for safety must be taken on the river edges as they are steep in places, the glacial water is very cold, and it has a strong tidal current and hidden undertows. Life jackets are strongly recommended for any activities on the water and we discourage swimming. We are located just 65 miles north of Seattle and minutes from I-5. This is your landing spot to explore all of the Skagit Valley, from the San Juan Islands to the Cascade Mountains. Such a great experience! This is the perfect Hipcamp for those that want a hub for surrounding activities! I enjoyed the site and the host was very appropriately communicative. The description of the place is perfectly honest. Expect a visit from fluffy dogs and lots of farm and wilderness sounds. I heard a barred owl when I first arrived. Tasty water and the sauna and bathroom/shower is perfect!

This is a beautiful spot and a great base for visiting the national park! The indoor and outdoor amenities were great - we appreciated the snacks, ample resources for cooking, and many options for getting warm (2 electric heaters, hot tub, wood fire stove, and outdoor fire pit). You can see the small road from the dome and hear a bit of highway noise, so it's not fully isolated, but that also makes it quick to get back onto the road to head to the trailhead (it took us about 1 hour to get to the Maple Pass Loop). We also checked out the Barr Creek conservation area about 0.25 miles up the road, which has a very pretty little loop trail.

Great, out of the way, place. Spots are well marked, wiht plenty of space between them for privacy. There are farm animals that free range, including sheep (that are very cute), so heads up that there's lots of poop around. Andrea has three incredibly friendly dogs that came to say hello, and lots of cats around that are friendly too. The sauna is a great feature. The only drawback is that the sauna/bathhouse is a bit of an uphill hike from the campsites. Just plan your bathroom trips. Otherwise, lovely overnight here.

2 nights at The River's Edge Camp Ground

Adam & Kira’s land is a slice of heaven and a fisherman’s paradise! The site itself is set up to be very comfortable and accommodating with plenty of space to stretch out and relax. There was great fishing on the river a few steps away from camp and a nice sandy beach around the bend where our dog loved running around and swimming. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets while grilling up some fresh caught fish and the view of Mt. Baker was incredible! We stayed 3 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. We felt very safe in the area and you can tell there’s a lot of love and good times that have been had there. We hope to return soon - thanks Adam & Kira for sharing your land!

2 nights at Chom's RV Campground

The property was exactly how it was described and well marked sites. Very responsive and present hosts. The site was easy to pull into and extremely private. Completely dark and quiet so perfect for sleeping. The restroom was the cleanest, brightest one I've experienced in any campground. It's a little tricky walk from the C and D tent sites at night so I just drove over, parked right in front. The hot water takes a few minutes but it gets very hot and stays hot. There are multiple stalls and two showers so unlikely having to wait. A great surprise on a chilly morning was that the restroom is heated! I would stay here again, it's perfect for a few nights, and 30 minutes to multiple hiking trails. Less than 1 hour to the Cascade Pass trailhead (most of that drive is primitive road so it's slow). Also only about 15-20 minutes from Cement which has a few or restaurants.

This was our second stay at this site, and it was just as good as the first. Hospitality is top notch, yet private. All the walking trails are great and extremly pet friendly. RV parking is super awesome, just pull right in to a level gravel spot and a full turnaround to get out. Can't ask for more than that. Although some would complain about no water or power, there is an outhouse and people should simply plan accordingly. All of the spots are private and great. We will be back, my dogs are already trying to book online.
