Zender camp is located in Deming and is surrounded by beautiful views of the Nooksack River, Kendall Creek and mountains. The Campsite has Kendall Creek on one side and the north fork of the of the Nooksack River on the other side. In the distance you can see White Mountain, Bald Mountain and Church Mountain. Fisherman will appreciate that the Kendall Fish Hatchery is a neighbor to our campsite and 3 C’s wedding and event venue is less than 1/4 mile away!

There is no restroom facility so campers MUST have an RV with a toilet. Sorry, no tents or car camping. Only one RV at a time is scheduled, unless guests are traveling together, so you’ll have plenty of privacy! (More than two people are welcome.) The huge graveled area makes turning around super easy, and there’s a pretty view to the west over a grassy field toward the sunset and a partial view of Mount Baker to the east. The barn is picturesque, though there are no animals on the property except for two indoor cats.
The RV site has water from the faucet outside of the barn via a 100-foot white drinking water hose. There is a new 30 amp RV style electrical hookup, and a 20 amp household style plug-in located on the side of the barn. Electricity is an additional $5 per night paid in advance. There is a 100 foot heavy duty extension cord available. Benson Road is narrow with a deep ditch, so it isn’t suitable for walking or biking, but traffic noise is minimal. The property sits directly across from the Lynden airport. While planes rarely take off or land here, it’s fun to watch when they glide in to land. On most days you might see three planes, with a few more on Sunday afternoons when people return home.
The property is a flat 1,500 feet long, making it great for walking. It’s also a wonderful spot for dogs to run and play, though since it’s within Lynden city limits, dogs must remain under immediate control or on a leash. Quiet time is strictly observed at 9 p.m. A campfire area is available in the farmyard, with a charged hose required to be on hand. The owner will try to provide firewood and newspaper for starting fires, but availability isn’t guaranteed.
Conveniently located, the property is only a 4-minute drive from charming, flower-filled (in season) downtown Lynden and the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds, 6 minutes from the main grocery shopping area, and about 5 minutes from the Canadian border crossing.
It’s a 30-minute drive south to Bellingham, 30 minutes west to Birch Bay and other waterfront destinations, 1 hour 15 minutes to Anacortes (gateway to the San Juan Islands), and 1 hour 20 minutes east to the Picture Lake Viewpoint on Mt. Baker.

Our 28 acres are located in between Maple Falls and Glacier, Wa, directly on Mt Baker Hwy on the way to Beautiful Mt Baker.
Ben and Tyne run a chemical free farm, on which we raise 7 and 1/2 acres of veggie and flower. 15 acres of pastureland on which we raise pasture raised chicken, as well as biannual lamb and beef.
The remainder of our land is breathtaking Pacific Northwest forest that is boarded by the Bay to Baker trail.
Our campsites range between walk in wooded sites, and car camping sites that are open field sites next to the tree line. We provide wagons in our cart corral area to make it more convenient for the very short walk in. ( no more then a 200 foot walk in)
We have a very nice composting outhouse and hand-washing station. We do not have water for drinking or a dishwashing sink, but if you are in a pinch just ask Ben or Tyne and we can help you out.
We want all of our campers happy, comfy, and to have the best time here. :)
We have a beautiful cedar grove to enjoy for lounging and picnics. The Bay to Baker trail borders our property, so it is just steps away and includes a 45 min round walk to a quaint little waterfall (maple falls). As well as a nature loop trail. You can also walk the other direction on the trail over a boardwalk. This direction walks along the back of the farm and allows you to see the veggie fields from a distance. Yofu can continue on the bay to baker trail for a nice walk.
There is a conservation area, just a quarter mile drive down the road. With access to the Nooksack river, that includes several nice swimming spots and a couple nice walking trials.
Silver Lake is just 3.8 miles away. It has a great recreation area, fun for the whole family.
Just a heads up , you will probably lose service on your drive up here. But you will get service back when you are here.
We suggest putting the map in your phone before you leave. Google maps will take you just past the farm, and apple maps will stop you too soon.

June Bud Farms was established in 1960s.
Blending two single parents, each with 4 kids. While June & Bud raised 8 kids, they collected Registered Holsteins for their quaint dairy. As the Dairy grew to 110 acres home to 120 heifers', they soon had to add an additional milking parlor. From milking 4 cows to a staggering 12 at once, Bud made the paper for the cutting edge technology!
As time marches on, the kids all grown, the little farm retired. Fast forward to 2020, its time to breath new life into this stout and sturdy barn. Cows are not in the current foreseeable future, but flowers are. We will carry on the name of Grandma June and Grandpa Bud. Be among the first to hang out in a quiet corner of a 35-acre forest in Van Zandt, a “blink-and-you’ll miss it” town along the picturesque Highway 9. This area is a common shortcut for people coming from Seattle or other points South on their way to Mt Baker.
Hippie Forest has three campsites, each with a fire pit, a level place to pitch a tent, and space for parking one or two cars/vans (but no big RVs). A basic outhouse serves all three campsites. The sites are far enough apart that they offer privacy, but close enough that groups can hang out together with a very short walk. The sites are affordable because we believe camping out in nature shouldn't break the bank.
The real joy in Hippie Forest is the tall trees, the distant sound of a train, the birds and other critters, and so much green it will make your eyes hurt. There are also a few trails to explore, and nice neighbors to meet.
The South Fork of the Nooksack River is 5 minutes away. It’s a great place to cool off on a hot Summer day. Mt. Baker is 45 minutes to the East. Bellingham, with a pretty solid nightlife, is 20 minutes West. Vancouver and Seattle are 90 minutes away, and there are dozens of cool towns, parks and hiking spots in every direction.
These campsites are a great for a small fire and quiet conversation (not a rager around a huge bonfire). They offer safe harbor, a jumping off point, and a natural spectacle.

Our group rented Alder Meadow and Creekside. We had a wonderful time! We had 4 kids, and it was wonderful that they could be exploring and playing within our sight; it felt sort of contained but gave them freedom at the same time. They loved the playground and the outdoor games.
I would only say both sites have almost no shade at certain times of the day, except for the canopy. (one in the morning and during the evening). Just a thing to consider.
The farm is also located close to a very lovely lake and river, so we had an extra adventure outside from there every day.

This is our 6th trip back and it gets better every time. The small touches and improvements since our last trip as amazing (extra things in the Snack Shack, extra add-ons, etc). Margaret checked in on us a few times a day and it was awesome! She even set up a sprinkler for the kids because it was hot. Small touches like that keep us coming back year after year. My kids call it "our usual place" and we can't wait for our next visit.

We visited for the long weekend from Vancouver and it was the perfect getaway from the city. The location is rural farms and beautiful parks all around, with some hidden gem spots (Gunners is A+) to stop for a beer and snack! The hosts Richard and Kathleen were so kind and personable, bringing by their dogs in the morning for a routine walk. We enjoyed the scenery, company from the hosts and unlimited adventures to seek out. We truly hope to be back soon.

We had a wonderful weekend at Rusty Ranch! We camped with cousins on Hawthorne Loop, which was perfect for our crew (one family of 4 tent camping, other family of four in travel trailer). It was a spacious site with lots of room to spread out. There was a covered picnic table inside the loop which was our main gathering spot for group meals. We hiked the trails, played lawn games, and had a fun experience feeding and caring for some of the farm animals. We also visited the barn area to buy fresh eggs, jam and ice. The kids loved having a little playground on site. Margaret was delightful and welcoming. We will definitely visit again!

Our large family loves camping at Margaret’s place. The land is beautiful and well cared for, the group spot is quiet and private with lots of room for the kids and dogs to roam, the playground is close by and visible, the permanent shelter and picnic tables make set up a breeze, and she has the nicest outhouses. She is attentive while giving us our privacy and she’s thought of every detail. Being able to buy ice and treats for the kids is an extra bonus. I bought myself the cutest mug! We look forward to returning.

What a lovely piece of property. We camped overnight and used it as our base for exploring Artist point. The property is well taken care of with a clean composting toilet. There weren’t a ton of other campers there which made it nice since the field sites are somewhat close to each other. Field sites are right next to the road so you will get some traffic noise throughout the night. Our dog was able to be off leash and she throughly enjoyed exploring the property. We would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Kragnes Family Farm Mt Baker Camp
Great spot in between Mt. Baker and Bellingham. Everything we needed was provided for tent camping. Firewood for sale, clear directions, large spot in the trees with picnic table and fire pit. Even had carts and wagons to tow in gear. Peaceful and quiet!

Great spot for the weekend. Communication was easy and everything was clearly marked and easy to navigate. Loved going home with lots of fresh veggies from the produce stand! We hope to return for another weekend of camping.

15 ft campervan
With pets
Reg was incredibly nice and communicated very well. Instructions were easy to follow and the area was great. The campsite was very nice, flat and level. Beautiful field, great view. And even lots of blackberries!
