Weekend Trip to Coyote Meadow Basecamp

The open field is surrounded by trees which makes it feel really private. There’s ample space between sites and we easily found a level spot. We enjoyed a quiet evening and woke to bird songs the next morning. It’s also close to town where we stopped for supplies, Hurricane Ridge, and the rest of Olympic National Park. We’d definitely stay here again!

Amazing! Words can’t describe the beauty of the scenery! I stayed at one of the tent sites. I had plenty of room and privacy on the creek. Bathrooms were clean. Hosts were very friendly.

We loved camping here! The sites were all super private and with great views of the ocean. The bathroom facilities were well kept and clean. It was a little difficult to stake down our tents in the rocky ground, but the area is well protected from the wind so we didn’t really have to worry about it. We’d definitely recommend this place!

What can I say this day at Wandering Woodlands was definitely a hidden gym for those looking to take the ease out of camping. This is a perfect spot to start. The domes were very well kept in greatly themed. I can definitely say, I will definitely be staying here again.

4 nights at Shadow Mountain Campground

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect as we wanted to explore around Olympic National Park and be close enough to Port Angeles to grab essentials and visit Victoria via the ferry. We were also 5 minutes from the Lake Crescent Lodge. The campsite was very quiet even with longer term residents living there as well. The general store was well stocked and employees very helpful. Our RV site backed right up to a lush green backdrop. Would recommend! Only downside was the RV site was not very level and that took some work to get it right, after that we were good to go and very happy with it.

This was our second time staying at this Hip Camp, and I'm sure we will stay again. Everything is so well cared for, clean, and beautiful. Having the beautiful river just a short walk away is such an amazing bonus. And, the location is perfect for day trips to beaches or to hiking trails in the area. I love this place!

This is the most serene and thoughtful carcamping site I've ever seen! It's clear that the hosts love the land and want to share it. We were really impressed by the details, like the path to the beach, the firewood, and the outhouses. One person in our group described the outdoor ocean-view shower as "life changing". Even though the site was fully booked, we never heard another person, and it felt like we were in our own little world. Stay here if you can!

If your navigation software tells you to turn on Dan Kelly, turn it off. We are NOT on Dan Kelly road. We are on hwy 112. We are the first left, just after the guardrails. Down the gravel road some 75 feet, turn right at the "Ranger Creek Campground" sign and follow the unimproved road about 100 feet to the campground. Campsite 4 is the first one you'll see, further down the road campground 1 is on the left, campsite 2 is on the right, campsite 3 is strait ahead. Please respect the privacy of the other campers. In the rainy season the road in can be slick. Four Wheel Drive vehicles are recommended in the case of large amounts of rain, or snow. Not recommended for RV's or trailers over 15 feet. Merriman Creek Maple Flat Hipcamp

Merriman Creek is nestled under a canopy of old growth Maple Trees next to our Nightly Rental, The River's Edge, on the South Shore of Lake Quinault. At the request of our nightly rental customers, we have added secluded dry camping sites for our guests and for those wanting to enjoy the Lake Quinault area. Due to USFS Campground closures and high demand, we are happy to provide a place for campers to spend a night or two as they enjoy Lake Quinault. The Hipcamp location is approx 100 yards away from our Rental House and it is secluded and provided. Preferably this is a walk-in tent site Hipcamp, but if the weather is dry, you may drive in with your car or camper van. Please be mindful of other campers as this is an open field nestled under old growth Maple Trees. Quiet Hours and respectful camping etiquette should be followed. We have a communal fire pit in the middle of the 3 acre parcel, 7 sites in total and a clean and new Porta-Potty toilet. There is no water on site so please bring your own water. You may also bring your own portable propane fire pit should you wish not to use the communal fire pit. We hope this description helps! Site 1 is best suited for a camper van. Everyone must pass by this site to get to the other sites. SIte 1 is also closest to the Porta Potty. Site 5 and 6 are in the very back of the property and might be best if you are camping with another family. Site 7 is closest to the fire pit. One tent per space please. You are welcome to message the Host for any questions, we are very accommodating and can also help you plan your trip and advise on things to do. The campsites are on acreage of a very small off-grid farm. Relax and forget the stress. There are 6 tent sites and 2 small RV sites. Toilets are available, as well as trash bins, potable water, and picnic tables. We do not allow pets. Guests love staying here: "This spot was everything we were hoping for and more! Awesome location near everything in Quinault. Received a fun, short tour of the property from our hosts who are incredibly nice. The campsite was tidy and exactly what we imagined. Plenty of room between us and our neighbors, and we barely knew that they were there. The outhouse is basic but clean and charming. Imagine the friendliness of staying at a distant cousin's organic farm, with the facilities of a top-notch campsite. Only regret was that we were crashing there quickly, and weren't able to stay longer and relax on-site. If the description on the website seems like what you're looking for, I would highly recommend this location."

Our campground operates seasonally, welcoming guests from March 15 to November 15. To ensure a smooth stay, we recommend making reservations online, as a first-night non-refundable deposit is required. Our Spring Season hours are typically from 10 AM to 5:30 PM, while Summer Season hours extend from mid-May to 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Please note that our hours will be limited in October and November, and we will close for the season starting December 1. For those planning to visit during peak season, from May 15 to September 15, we advise arriving at the Hoh Rainforest entrance before 9 AM to avoid long wait times at the toll booth.
