Not for meemaw or young kids
Beautiful spot however, there’s a few things that I could have been made a clearer in this listing. First, the walk down to the campsite is more than 100 yards, closer to 200 yards- this is important because it is almost 200 yards down a STEEP hill- which means you have to pack all of your gear down, and then back up the steep hill. There were provided wagons to help with this, but honestly, it still sucked packing things up and down. Secondly, the river spot itself is beautiful, nice sandy beach area, but getting there is ghetto. The “hand rails” they have on either side of the short, steep trail are just wood stakes pounded in, and they are already very wobbly, wobbly enough If I attempted to pull them straight out I easily could. The side rail on the left actually has a rope tied to the bottom which is hooked to a tree farther back in an attempt to stabilize it- this is not a successful attempt at stabilizing lol. The first log in the 3 set of “stairs” leading down to the river is also giving out, so be careful walking down. Lastly- the bucket. When I booked it was listed that there was a compostable toilet, which is fine by me, but showing up and seeing the compostable toilet which was just a sad bucket sitting there actually made me laugh. I’m not mad that this was their version of a compostable toilet, I’m mad that there wasn’t a better description/a picture anything clarifying this. This site was expensive so I was disappointed with the lack of clarity/safe access.
