Within a 60-minute drive from the Hoh.
Calm Waters is bordered by the Bogachiel River. It is approximately 2 acres of timber and a little meadow area. On site, enjoy swimming, bird watching, eagles & sunbathing with total peace & relaxation. There are many hiking trails nearby. You can hike through our beautiful forests or take a stroll along our gorgeous beaches. There are many beaches within a short driving distance from our location, and you can take your pick of sandy shores or a little rockier shore. Plan a picnic as you watch the beautiful sunset after a day of combing the beach of all its little treasures, Seashells, rocks, and Sea-glass. Dine in at any of our local restaurants. You can take your pick, we have lots to choose from. The Hoh Rainforest is also just a short drive from our location along with many lakes and rivers. The city of Forks is located approximately 6 miles from our location. You can find a place to supply all your needs from our local grocery store " Forks Outfitters", to our pharmacy / gift store. We also have 'Native to Twilight' for all our Twilight fans, the Sasquatch and many more little shops, and restaurants. Forks is a very unique town with a population just under four thousand. For more history on our town, you can visit the timber museum and information center located is the city of Forks.

Calm Waters Site 3
This campground is cute little tucked away gem between 101 and the river. There is a trail down to the river by the entrance.

Calm Waters Site 3
The site was easy access and available on short notice. The other campsites were empty, and it was nice to be alone. The sound of the river is a nice sleep aid. This was a great experience.

Calm Waters Site 3
Quiet and relaxing stay
We enjoyed our three night stay in site 3. It was quiet, a great location, and more than enough space for our large tent. Our kids had room to run around and even play catch. We brought a telescope and enjoyed star gazing without any lighting disrupting the view. This site in particular has a good mix of sun and shade, whereas it seemed that site 1 was in the sun more often than not and site 2 had some smaller areas of shade available. The main downside to site 3 is the trek for loading/unloading the car. I'm glad I read reviews beforehand or I would not have known to expect that. It's fine if you know it's coming, but would've been a disappointing surprise. That said, it's just a trade off for more privacy/seclusion in that site compared to the others. It's the same distance to get to the river bank. The river is beautiful and there is plenty of space to spread out. It would be awesome if there were a trail to the river from site 3, or somewhere along the path between site 3 and the others. We never saw the host during our stay, but the sites were well kept, port-a-potty was reasonably clean, and the host was responsive when I sent a couple messages in preparation for our trip. Overall a nice stay and we would consider booking again (we would 100% book again if there were more direct river access).
