Waterfall Sanctuary is a hidden gem on 17 acres, bordered on two sides by the Gifford Pinchot N F. In the heart of the Columbia River Gorge just outside Carson, Washington. It's home to a mini-farm with goats, ducks, & chickens. Deer & elk walk through the property on a fairly regular basis depending on the season, it's less than a mile walk (or short drive) to the Wind River with a swimming hole, & a short distance further to the Pacific Crest Trail.
A 20-minute drive & you're at the Columbia River. An hour to the West is Portland if you are in the mood for some city life, & 35 minutes east is Hood River, a gorgeous old town with tons of charm. The closest town, Stevenson, Washington is home to shops, local restaurants, & access to the Columbia River.
Also in close proximity are amazing waterfalls, trails, & National Forest roads that are close by & well maintained. No matter the season there is something to do a short distance from the property.
Keep in mind that the property is very rugged except for the trails we have provided to access other parts of the property. We are as off grid & sustainable as possible- while no electricity or running water is available at the individual sites, we provide battery or solar operated lighting, a container of water for each site.

We have been busy on some upgrades in the off season including new furniture for the deck site, new sit spots on the trails, new benches and swings located throughout the forest and planting privacy trees. We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey.
The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups!
Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi.
About the campground:
The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins.
There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊
The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

At 180 acres Glendale Farm in Chimacum, in operation since 1857, is one of the largest single agricultural properties remaining in Jefferson County. The farm includes prime agricultural soils, over half a mile of East Chimacum Creek, and forested areas. The easement protects a buffer zone for salmon and wildlife habitat along the east fork of Chimacum Creek and protects the agricultural and forestry values of the property forever. Jefferson Land Trust and collaborative partners purchased the easement to Insure Glendale farm maintains agricultural practices and wildlife habitat forever! Please be aware this is a working farm with poultry, livestock, and the use of farm equipment providing a great experience for farm life.
Glendale farm experienced a devestating loss in 2022, the primary residence burned down, and since then has been going through an extensive cleanup from an extreme hoarding situation. We recommend using shoes at all times as we are still in the process of combing the grounds for glass and possible sharp objects. You can expect to see old farm equipment, some derelict Rvs, and material debris which we are raising funds to remove. Please be patient with us as we continue to improve the site with future showers, a comunal kitchen, and improved landscaping.
The Glendale Farm is 1/4 mile walk to and from FinnRiver Farms, where you can enjoy cider, beer, live music, delicious snacks each and every weekend! you can check out their seasonal events.

Two picnic table, a covered kitchen area with a water pump, just bring your own water to wash dishes. An above ground fire pit you can cook on. We can also provide a propane tank for $15.00 for 2 nights, grill is free to use.. For an additional fee, a wheel barrel full of good dry wood for $25.00 all payable directly to Bruce/Lynn at check out. We live on property but you’ll have 100% privacy at river. The listing is for eight people on the property but if you choose to bring additional guest, it will be five dollars per night per guest ages 5 and above up to an additional 8 people for a total of 16 people. Payable directly to Bruce and Lynn at check out. Do NOT INCLUDE EXTRAS IN YOUR RENTAL FEE today. We do ask you to list everyone 5 and above so we know who will be on property. Two minutes up the road, hiking trails await for all skill levels. Two minutes the other direction, a favorite local winery offers tastings, live music, and great ambiance — and they're happy to have you bring your own charcuterie to pair with a glass.
Mowed pathways wind through the farm, leading you to each discovery at your own pace. An evening-lit grove rests in the shade of a cherry plum tree at the bottom of the property. The old homestead loop makes for an easy-to-moderate hike that kids love to explore. Guests are welcome to forage fresh berries, herbs, veggies, and eggs throughout their stay — say hello to the chickens and help yourself to eggs, just do your best not to let the girls out (it happens to the best of us).
A note for weekday stays: Our neighbor is currently building next door, with work starting at 7am Monday through Friday — no construction on weekends. We have an acre of land with an orchard, grapes, blueberries, raspberries, tons of flowers and peace and quiet except for some traffic on Veazie Cumberland Rd. There is a tree farm across the street from the campsite and a blueberry farm across Veazie. Picking time for blueberries is end of July into August. Deep lake is four miles from our house as well as Kanaskit State Park with a river. Mt Rainier is about 45 minutes away. Mt Peak, 1000 ft hike, is 4 miles toward Enumclaw from us.

Nestled within our four acres of wooded property are beautifully designed spaces just a short hike from the parking lot and chicken coop. Camp trails connect you to 38 acres of Conservation and Creek area and the iconic Olympic Discovery Trail.
We are currently hosting two spaces on the property:
- Site 1 features a safari canvas tent (sleeps 4) to unwind protected from the elements, picnic table, a fire pit, and portable solar charger. There is additional space on site to put up tents for extra guests.
- Site 2 boasts space for two tents, a picnic table, hammock, and a fire pit, so that you can unwind and relax among the trees.
Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts will find themselves just minutes from connecting to all the Olympic Peninsula has to offer! Ideally situated between Port Angeles and Sequim you'll have easy access to city amenities, local farms, and the Olympic National Park within minutes.

Cowlitz River Cabins offers seasonal river access. An authentic Tipi to choose from for your vacationing pleasure. You have your own private HOT TUB and fire pit situated on 6 acres in park-like setting in the Packwood/Randle, area of Washington. Please note there are three other cabins on the 6 acres. Our Tatoosh Tipi is located near the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Goat Rocks Wilderness and the Tatoosh Mountain Range. We are centrally located between Mt. Rainier, Mt St. Helens, Mt. Adams and White Pass Recreation area.
Our Tatoosh Tipi has a full bed and has the option to have 4 additional cots. The outdoor kitchen area has a mini fridge, Blackstone Grill, Charcoal Grill, Coffee maker and most utensils that you may need.
The bathhouse has sink, toilet, and shower. The private hot tub is a two person.

5 acres on Vashon Island with some forest & views of Puget Sound & Mount Rainier & Cascades. Shared kitchen & bathroom available. 15 minute walk to town of Vashon (laundromat nn early closing restaurants). Vashon is just a 25 minute passenger ferry ride from downtown Seattle. Car ferries are on both ends (West Seattle/Vashon & Pt. Defiance/Tahlequah. Vashon has many forests, hiking trails & beaches. Property has 16’ Glamping Bell Tents stay or RV stay available.
Unfortunately, this is no longer an active strawberry farm and there are no actual strawberry farms left on Vashon.

This is a beautiful property with gardens and an owl nest on the property. I heard it hunting last night it woke me up!!! Amazing time in the forest. The place is full of sweet little touches and easy cooking in the community kitchen. It would be great place for a family reunion camping style. I would definitely recommend!

My daughter, dog and I stayed at site 2 and had a great experience. Tyla is friendly and welcoming, we met the goats and chickens, got some farm fresh eggs and enjoyed the area. Swimming hole nearby is great, the Falls Creek Falls hike is incredible. The land is beautiful. The dome tent was nice and very clean and cozy.

We enjoyed our time on this property! The tent and sleeping accommodations were very comfortable and stylish. It was very quiet and restful. Everyone slept very well. The property is well maintained, and Tyla was accommodating of a couple things during our stay. What we found strange was there was no access to a water source that we could fill our own drinking water containers. The host offered one free gallon jug, and the rest you had to buy or bring. Our children loved the goats and chickens. It was fun to wake up to rooster crowing.

Weekend Trip to Ravens Ridge
We had such an amazing stay in the Big Dipper with our large dog and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hosts truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with anything we could need. They were incredibly welcoming and it felt so safe staying there.
The outdoor kitchen was one of our favorite parts, it had all the utensils and supplies we needed and was so thoughtfully put together. The bathrooms were also exceptionally clean and well maintained, which made the whole stay even more comfortable. Overall, it was such a peaceful and perfect getaway, and we genuinely have zero complaints.

1 night at The Ultimate Camping Trip
I was so lucky to have the whole place to myself on a quiet Tuesday- the tent was comfortable and so wonderfully peaceful, the quiet was unreal- right next to a river with not a soul around... Be aware there are no heaters or creature comforts- it's very basic but the peace and solitude make for a great escape... The portapotty and shower is a quick walk and the other tents seem far enough apart for privacy ( hard for me to judge since I was the only one there)- lots of communal seating and chairs outside your tent- I really enjoyed it...

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary
Our stay at the Waterfall Sanctuary was wonderful. Tyla's land was beautiful, nestled close to the beautiful Panther Creek Falls, wind River, a swimming hole and pristine forest. Much more to explore, so we will have to return! Also, she has sweet animals on her land (chickens and goats) as well as a cafe with options for breakfast, coffee, popcorn, easy to make tasty meals. There is a sauna that also has red light therapy, which was such an added treat! Tyla was a wonderful and accomodating host. Highly recommend!

Angela was a great host! We felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay. The view, watching the chickens in the morning, and close trails nearby was the perfect easy getaway. We have two large dogs and the 4 of us fit perfectly in the tent.

Angie and crew exceeded expectations as our Hipcamp hosts! Everything was so lovely but their hospitality really added to our experience. The farm is wonderful and the tent/deck was a magical little space of our own. Really felt at home here! It’s a great place to relax and unwind for sure. Lots of thought and hard work has gone into this space. My daughter loved feeding the chickens. And, who doesn’t love farm fresh eggs! Breakfast was magnificent as well. 2 nights at Hobson Meadows
What a lovely experience! Beth was so communicative and answered our questions. The yurt had a super cozy bed! You can stay here even if it’s chilly - the evenings were cold BUT the accessible campfire and super warm and cozy bed kept us warm! It is absolutely feasible in chillier weather, just be prepared! Her husband helped us out with some firewood as we hadn’t had a chance to buy any and he also kindly shared some homegrown apples with us on our way out! Clean bathroom, peaceful environment, and 2 lovely dogs! Will absolutely stay again when we find ourselves in the area. Thanks! :)

Weekend Trip to Hobson Meadows
Two of us stayed here for one night. We live in Seattle and it was a perfect place to stay after spending the day in Bellingham. We arrived after sunset and our host quickly came outside to help guide us to our yurt, which was so appreciated. It was raining on and off throughout our stay, but we stayed dry and the bed was unexpectedly comfortable. The only suggestion I have is to add another large rug inside for warmth and coziness. We’ll be back again, hopefully for longer!

I booked the entire site for my birthday and had a great time! The new covered area over the kitchen is excellent, and was especially nice during rainy weather. Multiple tents to choose from, a nice big fire pit, and multiple toilets for easy access. Timber and Bethany were super accommodating and helpful, will definitely be back out here again!
