Manchester State Park features a beach, sand dunes, and flat grasslands, with nearly 18,000 feet of ocean frontage. The beach line curves gently to form a "catch basin" for sea debris, which accounts for the volume of driftwood found here. Five miles of gentle, sandy beach stretches southward towards the Point Arena Lighthouse.
One of the main attractions is the excellent steelhead fishing in the park’s two streams, Brush Creek and Alder Creek. The park features a variety of coastal wildflowers, including sea pinks, poppies, lupines, baby blue eyes and blue irises. The park provides habitat for tundra swans. The San Andreas Fault runs into the sea at the park.
The park takes its name from the village of Manchester, which is located in Mendocino County on Coast Highway 1 about seven miles north of Point Arena.

This cozy cottage is equipped with a queen size bed in a lovely sleeping loft, a small but useful kitchen, a large trex deck with patio furniture, a comfy couch and small dining table. The separate, but luxurious, bath house has a full sized shower, sink, and fully plumbed flushing toilet. There is even a small stacked washer and dryer available. Laundry soap available for purchase. Name brand (no dollar store stuff here) shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided.
A cozy heater keeps the tiny house warm on cool days, but there is no air conditioning. The shady woods stay nice and cool, and there are lots of screened windows to let in the breeze. The sleeping loft also has two screened windows and a fan if the nights are warm.
The kitchen has a gas 2 burner stove, a mini fridge, toaster oven, hot water kettle, french press coffee maker, dishes, utensils, pots/pans, and other basics.
The bed has 100% cotton sheets, pillow cases, and blanket. As well as a comfy coverlet. A feather alternative duvet is available for colder nights.
There is only one bed and it is not recommended for small children to sleep in the loft as there is no safety rail or gate up there. If a child is present it is recommended (almost required) that they sleep on the couch in the lower living space.

Absolutely amazing! Spent the weekend there with a big group of friends to ride quads and dirt bikes. Plenty of room for multiple trucks and trailers. Parking for campers and nice green grass for our 5 tents and plenty of room for more. Big water slide, price track was big and perfect for adults and kids along with direct access to the tahuya park. Would definitely recommend to friends and can’t wait for the next trip.

As others have said this is the perfect spot for kids to learn! So great to have a private trail, it’s flat and short with just enough small challenges to build skills and confidence. My boy enjoyed learning here, and the camping was great. It’s a quiet spot with a great lawn for frisbee and stargazing. The extra charge for firepit was worth it it’s in a gazebo with furniture and lights, so we had some glamping before the tent time, and a spot to cook s’mores, (even during burn bans!) Hosts were great and promptly responded to messages. Couple of picnic tables too eat at, a water spigot, and evenJosh offered us use of 110v power. Highly recommended!

Curley Creek canyon was great! We loved staying with a group of 7 and a dog and we all talked about how we'd love to come back again. Only regret is that we had so much fun exploring the surrounding area we didn't spend as much time at the campsite as we would have wished.

Our time at Octavius was perfect! The Airstream was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. It's not super private (there is are a couple small homes on the lot, one is also a vacation rental) but it was private enough for us. Margo has two dogs that roam the property that were very friendly. We enjoyed when the pups would come to us for a visit. The fresh eggs were wonderful for breakfast. The property and surrounding area was absolutely gorgeous. We would definitely recommend this HipCamp and hope to return again someday.

Jarrett has a little piece of heaven here!! Very rustic but that’s what is so amazing about this property. I was fortunate to have it to myself for 1 nights. Hard to believe it’s so close to Seattle. You feel completely free in nature with the comfort of a porta potty for that after coffee relief. I will return. Do all the things!!

Allison and Brian are creating an oasis with a lot of attention to details. It is a beautiful property that is close to many activities in the area.
We attended an event in Tacoma for a day and it was an easy trip.
Communication was easy and quick.
We recommend staying at least a few days. Besides lots of things to do close by, staying at the campsite was so relaxing! You do not want to miss out on the beautiful sauna, the comfortable lounge area or taking a stroll in their small, but magical forest.
